Tipping at a coffee shop is unheard of! I only tip at sit down restaurants where people come to take my order, service me, and do the check. I don’t care if the machine has a tipping section or they are watching, I happily put custom tip and type 0. Tipping shouldn’t be a thing.
100% agree. I was in New York a few months ago and was shocked at the cheek of suggesting a tip just for making me a coffee or a burger. No service whatsoever. If I paid for food or drink before consuming it, I did not tip. If I paid for food or drink after I'd consumed it, i.e. served it at a table, then I'd tip.
Disagree. Tipping is necessary and a good thing. I feel better when I tip and it makes me enjoy the experience more altogether
@@forwork2601 What do you tip for? Without any service. Just for nothing?
Great video Brett. We miss our old home. Lovely to see you back there again 👏🏻
Why di you leave? Oh, because it is awful
@@discofun @RhettandClaire curious to know also. Bali was stunning back in 2018 and prior, but since Covid and the war in Ukraine, the amount of people and over-development there, it's certainly lost its charms. It's very sad to see.
Feels like a weird dream watching you in Zin cafe with a coconut whilst I'm sitting in Zin cafe with a coconut 😂
same lol
❤
what a great video brett! thanks for being honest and always support you!!
Been a month since I seen a video from you so I was excited to a see a new video from you Brett! Great way to start off my weekend 😅
This is the content I live for. Always a good vibe 💕 😅!!! ♥️
Been following you for years, Bret! You Da Bomb…. you Rock.
So for 4 years just in rent alone spent over 216.000$ insane man.
After a year living aboard, I completely forgot about how egregious tips are
Wow love the comparison, it’s a major difference from the cost of living. I can’t move to Bali, but I do wanna visit Bali though. Great video as always Brett. 💪🏽
Awesome video! I crave me some Bali now!
The production quality of your videos is top-notch!
If you haven’t read The Censored Guide to Wealth on Bovolorus yet you’re missing out big time
While maybe not as exciting to compare it would be nice to compare other parts of New York State to NYC. Its such a big state and so beautiful the Hudson valley, upstate, Adirondacks, central NY with various food options and living. Something to ponder. A great video.
Good balance, Brett!
We are certainly the same to prefer to be in hustling city like NYC full time, and get away occasionally to a place like Bali. Good balance in life
And of course, Bali is considered cheap if you're coming from NYC. But they recently jacked up the price there in Bali. Still not really noticeable tho
Brett!!! 🤩 My man disappeared for weeks. Good to see you back. 1M is in clear sight now. I'm still not on your payroll 😂 but fingers crossed because we're getting bigger so gigs coming up probably. Anytime Brett.
aw loved the cute transitions in this vid!
That backpack is a pickpocket’s dream.
😂😂😂
Yeah, in USA definitely
@@HAG-r3z pretty much any big city.
Transitions in this video are top notch
Let's just pray that Bali doesn't become Californicated.
Too late. Not Californicated, but Australized. When you go there you can see very easily that Bali is a suburb of Australia.
What's that mean? The Californicated and Australized one
It feels the same minus Cafe that keeps popping up here and there
@@jd3422 its been like that since the 90s, its safe haven for australian beside the cheap vacay and tons of beaches for whom like to surf....
But if you compare these prices to the avarage salary in each country, you will look at it in an other way. It is not a really realistic comparison.
Asia = heaven ! I'm a big city guy and that's why i moved to Bangkok and fall in love with it. And even Tokyo, way WAY more cheap than NYC.
bangkok air polution is worst..cek it in air quality
@@Christianmusic-s6g ...Indonesia/Bali have a LOT of air pollution too. Together with Vietnam, Cambodia, China etc. Specially during the burning season from january to april.
so which place is better, Bali or Bangkok?
@ air quality in bali is better than bangkok..check it in accu weather..bangkok is worst
@ bali december to april is wet season not burning season..you wrong
Hey man! It's nice to see you drop a new video!
Brett! I love love love your channel! BUT…it’s not entirely true that coffee in NYC costs $9!!! Like at all! There are plenty of places that a cup of coffee is $1.50 or at most $4.00! You are only showing these examples from higher end places and a certain lifestyle where the average NYer doesn’t spend their money. I have a couple of cute cafes in my neighborhood, which is a generally expensive neighborhood and coffee is definitely NOT $9! AND i have lived in NYC for 40 years and most people do not have balconies and live in a higher end area. I live in a higher end historic area and my rent for a one bedroom is just under $2000 with RSP park 30 seconds away!
Don’t get me wrong, I do love seeing the places you go to, but your representation of NYC is only from your perspective and that these are the places that NYers go on the regular.
Good insight, maybe you could be make Vlog "regular" NYC
Very true❤ I still get my cup of very fresh coffee for $1.50
It isnt really misleading, the video shows the two high level cafes in the two cities, in bali u could find a coffee for less than 20 cents
@glamkakes3783 cheaper than indonesia over all
This is not a fair comparison. Please factor in costs of living/earning and costs of running business in both locations.
Intro is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great Video bro.Nice to see you drop a new video 🙂
What about Wi-Fi speed I don’t hear anybody talking about that while traveling. How SLOW is it?
$104 dollars two drinks, a pizza and a salad.
Long time no see Brett!! Missed ya videos soo much! Hope all is going well with life and ya tea company too! Wanna try it soo bad😭.
It seems like u really wanna join his tea company
Out of curiousity what's the sqare footage of your nyc appartment? Interested to see how that compares to these london prices per sqf!
Sooooo big different,
Hopefully many american enjoy indonesia
Welcome back
Brett… l literally have the fireplace on my tv too! My roommate is always laughing about it!
great video bro 🔥
❤
It's nice to split your time between America/Europe and Southeast/East Asia. I crave being in both places.
Its all about perception. New york is a hib to the world where as bali may be cheap but you are isolated.
As a European, if you ‘expect’ a tip then it’s more likely I won’t give you one lol
Kuala Lumpur is the way to go! One bedroom new condo fully furnished $300 a month! Bali is OK but Lombok next island over is way more chill. I just don't see the draw to NYC!
Make a video about BGC Philippines
Bali anytime!
bro spends 141k a year living in nyc - pretty impressive!
Brett are you in Bali now?
Brett since you love Bali, have you ever been to gili air?
i hope you prefer local own more when you visit Indonesia
What a nice driver..woo😂🤙
Echt een leuke video
You are living the dream!
❤
Once a year, I go on vacation for business purposes.😄
Sure there are many things that are cheaper in Bali. Just because it's cheaper does that mean it's better?
I've been to Bali twice. Sure, it has some beautiful places. That being said, though, there is very little of interest for me to do.
Bali, Thailand, and Vietnam best places to retire. Philippines if you have a death wish.
This video made me realise people are way too greedy, and we need a reset because this is just wrong. Who can afford this?
I had to pick my chin off the floor over the villa price!
NYC: $93 Uber ride. Bali: $6 scooter rental. I think I know where my next trip is gonna be. 🏝✈
If I had enough money, I would still choose New York, after all it is in the United States!
Anyway, I love this video, you did a great job! Thanks a lot for sharing! 👍😄👏
Question for you my friend. Would you say that a vacation trip to Bali for a family of four, my wife and I and my two kids (7-10). Is it safe and kid friendly? And you mention you go to Bali often , I just looked up flights and these flights are like $1600+ round trip, what are the tips for more affordable tickets to Bali? I assume you’re paying with miles. Love your videos brother
Use skyscanner and book ahead of time. I found flights right now for about $1000 USD per person from New York City to Bali in May (which is apparently the best month to go from a quick google search)
Bali is safe for family, many loacl tourist bring a whole family member to vacant in bali.
weoooooo. for a second I thought it was boat man 😂
don't forget there's load of even cheaper options that you picked in bali
KWAFII - haha loves it
Brett!!!!
Dude pays a 3rd of my rent just for the gym
where's the expedia link?
wouldn’t manhattan be your favorite island? 🤔
❤
What happens if u dont tip in usa?
He’s friends with Lost Leblanc ? That was his house
Haven't seen your video in like 3 month
Wrong Gym is the best gym in Bali :) try it out
❤
Good work. What part of Bali is this please?
Canggu
guy goes to Indonesia, only eats American food there. ok
Every pickpocket's would be a professional with that backpack
2 USD remains expensive for locals, not New Yorkers ;)
Seriously expensive 😮😂apartment
Interesting....
A cup of coffee is not $9 maybe a specialty cup but not a regular cup
Hell I’m moving too Bali 🤣
When you are going to get married brett
I think you truly have the smallest kitchen in the city 😅
I think the videos are getting a bit repetitive. I love your content, but it feels like I’ve seen this too many times. Maybe you could compare some other metrics, such as opportunities, setting up a company, taxes, etc.
Feel free to start your own channel, and create your own content
I support ur statement
$9 for a coffee is an abomination
brett, that kitchen of yours is a bonker lol, cant believe paying on avg $4,5k to rent that 1 bedroom. You should just move to LIC, plenty of view to look at...
Bro I look your every video ❤❤
So now please tell men any website or app I make money online but my pocket money is zero ok
👍
I'm here to learn English. Where is subtitles?😂
yoooo
I live in NYC and can get a coffee for not even $2 ... cmon lol
Exactly 😊
Yuck, show the real Bali, it’s not that great
True
Also $85 a hotel night isn’t that cheap idk
When Trump removes tax on tips we can expect tip percentage to go down?
This is pure BS. You paid that for a coffee because you wanted. You can buy a coffee in NYC for $1.00, that's the main problem with youtubers.
Exactly
I’ve started travel vlogging just been to Lapland in Finland for 2 months next stop EGYPT!!! 🇪🇬 - www.youtube.com/@TomConnelly2501
God your NYC apartment looks like its the size of about 4 jail cells
Bali is also a 3rd world country…. So there’s that
We’ve been over this a hundred times now. Bali is not as cheap as all these influencers make it out to be. Everyone knows that a European simply has a higher standard. And Bali is damn expensive. A decent gym membership starts at €100. If you want a villa, you’re looking at around €1,500 per month.Plus food, scooter, gas, parties, going out, adventures, snacks here and there… Stop spreading this nonsense.
Well actually if you go eat local Bali gets even a lot cheaper.
Bali is cheap that's all I can say, It all depends on your lifestyle...
What a villa with ,€1500/month. Many option cheaper than that.
You should wear a helmet!
The only people that love Bali are those who make money on making TH-cam videos on how great it is. It isn't. It is a bunch of wannabe 'nomads' thinking they can survive there by making positive videos.
Why are there no TH-camrs who have lived there more than 3 months? Because the island is awful. It is all fake. Don't believe me? Yeah, go, have a 'great' time. LOL.
I’ve been and I wouldn’t say it’s awful, but I found it to be underwhelming. The beaches are not like In Thailand or some other places. They’re more for surfing. The infrastructure is awful and it’s a bit monotonous with a million shops all trying to sell the same items. I got bored after 2 days. I’d say if you’re in SE Asia already, it’s good to pop by for a couple days, but that is enough. It’s not on my “go back to” list for sure. On the plus side, the people are absolutely lovely.

You lost me at 24 hour flight. I would die sitting packed like a sardine in economy for 24 hours. You can literally fly to Miami which is only a 2 hour flight from NYC and it’s WAY more high end, beautiful people, climate, beaches and more to do there. The restaurants in South of Fifth are top notch.
