- Welcome to Lucid's Tournament Game 7. This game has 9 nations, 9 Level 2 thrones, and 10 ascension points to win. We are playing Helheim, Dusk and Death. This is the first time I've played Helheim in multiplayer, so I'd anticipate some goofs! As per normal, I'm not an expert at this game, but I welcome learning and experiencing new things, so if you've got suggestions or just want to talk strategy in general, have at it.
We are playing with the Worthy Heroes, Lucid's Thematic Gemgen, Improved Casting AI, and Rebirth mods.

I believe demi is overlooked and undervalued by quite a few people.
Svartelf Mastersmith has a second shape Linormyr iirc. You can use it as an awake expander. Cast self buffs in dwarf shape, then transform and fire/attack.
Yeah, only thing I don't like about the Linnormr is its relatively low protection. It can definitely do the job though with buffs.
8:25 on the other hand, you can easily Owl Quill everything (and probably should, it's the easiest to obtain research booster if you have air magic: Construction 2, 1 path, 5 air gems), I see construction 2 with air nations as an easy and obvious first research goal due to that
I still agree that something like the Van nations (expensive mages, low research) want to go magic regardless, they just want the Owl Quills on top
Yeah, owl quills was definitely my plan, maybe even skull mentors depending on the income I got. But at the end of the day, I didn't go magic scales which I think really hurt me.

ps. it's for the stun effect, I didn't know about it before watching Perun, also due to that you need a certain attack density to perma stun everything for most of the time (but then it's very oppressive)
Yeah I've watched a bit of Perun's Nazca. Very scary stuff.
