No one seems to care about sound quality. But as a guy who has returned a lot of dumb expensive headphones. The King is Huawei freebuds pro 2 and 3. With Tezo X1 coming in second. However, this only matters if you have Android. Nothing is really going to be good audio quality on iPhone due to a lack of any decent codecs. In fact Samsung copied freebuds pro 2 and 3 in upcoming Galaxy buds pro 3 (planar...). But I'll probably return those as well since Samsung didn't want to pay Sony for LDAC... But I can be wrong and Samsung actually pulled it off. These reviewers honestly don't care about sound quality. Your best bet is trying it all yourself somehow.

@@maegnificant Well I cannot even test Samsung's new codec with my new buds pro 3 (shipped early) on my samsung ultra s22... Apparently not new enough. But I turned off LDAC on the freebuds pro 3 and compared it to the bud pro 3... and sad to say, the samsungs sucked bad in the comparison. They were not as bad as WF1000XM5... but They should be much better than this since they are now using the same tech that freebuds pro has been using for 3 years (the planar drivers)

Link buds s are probably to date my favorite tws I've used. The microphones died in it from going in and out of the warehouse freezer so much so now I can't use ambient or anc without an awful white noise on one side.

I'm on this video because I'm looking for a replacement for my Sony Linkbuds S. Seeing you almost put them in S makes me disregard pretty much everything else in the video.
I have them for a year or so and, when they work, they are great. However, they have MAJOR issues that are so common (look at user reviews in sites where you can buy these). The biggest one and the reason I need to replace them is that one of the buds is not charging anymore. It charges to only about 10-20%. Apparently all of Sony's buds have this issue so I'd avoid them entierly. Another issue is that sometimes there's a weird background noise in one of the buds. It comes and goes randomly.
This is the issue with most reviews/reviewers. They use the product for just a few hours and give a verdict. I get why it is that way but clearly you can't rely on them fully when making purchase decisions.

I understand that the Soundpeats Engine 4 have pretty great sound quality and that they're really cheap, but I wouldn't put them in S tier considering they don't have anything else. No noise canceling is insane at this point, and Soundpeats app still needs a lot of work. I understand they have a really great value for what they offer, but the lack of features should drop them to A tier at least.

Real issue with the buds: while the sound quality is insane, but the buds give up after a few months. Bought my first pair Nov 2023, left earbud had lower output by April. Had them replaced for free, and not even half a year in (April - Aug 2024) the right earbud had lower volume. Now they're asking me to send the buds to China so they can check. Serious question here... I need to buy a replacement for my Cambridge Audio Melomania 1, they just stopped holding a charge (they have served me right I got them back in 2020 if I recall correctly). My main use would be to go to the gym, when I first got them they were my main driver on the go, but now I use IEMs when I am out and about. My 4 contenders are SoundPEATS Opera05 $90, SoundPEATS Engine4 $59, the Cambridge Audio Melomania M100 $159, and SAMSUNG Galaxy Buds Pro 2 $103. I don't care about call quality, or tons of control (I usually hit shuffle on a playlist and go), or even ANC. They need to sound great, no bass bloat, flat sound the better (but that is hard to find in TW), and they have to be comfortable. What would you recommend?

i have the xm4 overear headphones and needed in-ears for sports. Back than a lot of people made videos praising the linkbuds S. I use the linkbuds S as my daily driver for about 2 years now and i always had problems with them. The eartips are trash, bluethooth connection was trash, the mic is trash and now my right earbud tells me that it has no charge after about 30 minutes. My phones kinda glitches, it shows me the charge of the right one jump from 94 to 80.
I definitely can not recommed them!!

Soundcore is such a good company. They have really good prices too, if you are tight on money you could buy 40-60 dollar headphones or earbuds that feel like they cost 150 dollars and the sound quality is great, good bass, sound cancelling or transparent mode and excellent battery life. The soundcore Q20 headphones are like 60 bucks although they are on sale more often than they are not for around 40 dollars, and they are phenomenal. 60 hour battery life and they charge to full battery in just over a hour

I think there should also be a durability test. There are people reporting that some of these have issues in a few weeks of use, so even if cheap if quality is not there, then it is useless. Unless because of Corp greed like planned obsolescence like with Sony with their xm4 fiasco.

I have the Momentum 4, Buds 2 Pro, QC Earbuds 2, and WF-1000XM5. I enjoy them all but the Momentum 4 is the best in terms of sound quality. Fit/comfort and NC aren't bad. Not a fan of its mic quality along with the XM5

    I personally prefer Sennheiser.
They're great, durable, the sound signature is great and I have 5years old over the ear wireless headset and it still works and I use it for sleeping every day because of a tram station like two houses away from me and they have been doing it's job and battery still holds up to 11 hours on single charge. Only negative thing is that the black thin fake leather sheet dissolved after 3 years. other than that they're amazing even for Tidial music sessions

My problem for the soundpeats engine 4
is that it's extremely slippery and that needs to be addressed by most of these companies.
It's a pain to get the earbuds out of the case. Not worth the hassle it brings.

Soundpeats has better audio and better transparency mode, Soundcore has better ANC, battery and case. To me it comes down to the fact that I think the soundpeats look like bootleg iems to me for some reason so I would taka the 4NC

@@kamenxxx9037 My update is that my SC 4NC has came with a dead battery in the left bud (it was working out of the box but died in about a day), tho it looks like it was just bad luck, there's not many complains online about QC issues, other than that it has a chunky case, a nice app and fits my ears better than my Galaxy Buds 2, tho its waaaaay less confortable to sleep with them (due to the stems). Compared to my Truthear Hexas IEMs everything feels compressed and bloated because of bluetooth bit crunch (wich I think is the reason that the SP 4pro sounds clearer, it has better codexes) but still sounds good enough that I dont feel like I NEED to reach for the Hexa's to actually appreciate something.
Overall I'm satisfied (except for the fact it died) but if you dont mind a worse app, less battery life and no wireless charging (and the looks, cause they do look a bit cheap), I would save the 25 bucks and go for the SP 4pro

I RARELY comment on videos and if I do it's generally positive but I've gotta critique a TWS tier list that fails to mention call quality or how well transparency mode performs. Those are literally the 2 most important things to me and most of the people I know. The main thing A LOT of people use these things for is phone calls. Please, next time you make a TWS tier list, include these things🙏 Oh, and ergonomics and things comparable to Apples force sensor (Taptic Engine) are other biggies. It seems like no TH-cam reviewer mentions these things. Other than those caveats your doing a good job and it's a service to us as consumers. You guys have legitimately become the modern day Consumer Reports fr! Thank you for your time and effort that you put into your content. Sorry if I came across snarky. I just get so surprised/semi frustrated that these things are generally an afterthought. Idk, maybe me and my friends are in the vast minority lol🤷‍♂️
