Not alot of us are wealthy, just hard workers breaking our backs to bring your packages to your doorstep for a paycheck every weekend. THE RESON WHY A MOVED OUT OF CALIFORNIA AND moved to Alabama last year? My story, My wife and I ran a small business Downtown in LA, Its are the taxes are so high I had to raise my prices at our store just to make ends meet. When I raised my price I could no longer compete with the big box stores thus losing business and as a result lowering my income. And I could no longer afford my property tax or my business taxes. 2nd California has the highest gas taxes, the highest utility taxes, and the highest Property Taxes in the Nation. 3rd reason crime. I we went to work at our store we drove past countless homeless people living on the street. We would drive by people selling and using drugs in broad daylight with impunity. Also 2 months before we moved, a man came into the store stuck a gun in my face, and told me if I didn't give him all the money in the cash register he would "BLOW ME AWAY' so I gave him the money I called the police they to a report and they promptly caught the guy two blocks away shooting up. He was taken to jail. The very next day the same man again robbed my store and took all my money again. On top of that, I have countless people shoplifting daily sealing everything from cigarettes to toilet paper with immunity. My insurance company dropped me, stating I was too high risk. So I had enough and we moved to Alabama where my wife's mother lives. Now I love California the state is beautiful
There are many free parks the beaches are great and recreation in California is second to none. But we were forced to give all that up including I was forced to leave my mother, father, and two sisters behind. My wife and I started a new business in Alabama and are making way more money than we ever did in California because no one steals from our store or tries to rob me. Not only that taxes are ridiculously low, we now live in a house that is twice the size of the one in California for Half the price. And the property taxes are so low here I don't see how they can afford to fix the roads or anything and don't get me going on gas prices I was paying $5.69 a gallon the last time I filled up 3.39 a gallon. But everything is not all roses. The summer here are extremely hot I mean really hot and humid and there are bugs everywhere. What most surprised me about Alabama besides the cost of living is that my family is black and I was told by all my California friends that I was making a grave mistake because everyone knew that Alabama was the racist Capital of the world! But I came to find out there are far more racists in California than in Alabama. The first day we moved in a white couple knocked on our door and invited us to a family BBQ they were having on Sunday. My wife was sure how we would be treated but we went anyway to my surprise we weren't the only black couples there were lots of them, along with Asians, Filipinos, and Hispanic couples they were laughing, kids playing together. They had just finished church and were invited to my neighbor's home for a BBQ.
The bottom line is I think I'm going to like it here in Alabama and wish I had moved out there years ago. So for my Fellow California don't be afraid to leave there is a brave and better life waiting for you outside California

Here's a typical example WHY. I was in line at home depot and a middle aged Mexican man walked out the door with so many power tools in his arms he could barely see where he was going. I yelled at him and when I started to go after him the security guard stopped me and said don't do it it's not worth it. I was so mad I felt like he was steeling from me. I watched him just slowly walk through the parking lot and he went over to where all the day labor guys were hanging out. This is allowed by the California politicians. That's why people are leaving. Don't getting me start on the open drug markets use and the same druggies pooping on the side walk. But hey not to worry, as long as you're calling the idiots by their proper pronouns pronouns it's all good

Las Vegas is a bit hot in the summer but we travel a lot in the summer months so we don’t stay in Vegas during July thru October and only stay there for 7-8 months a year. We bought a small house in Vegas and price is half of California and no state
income tax. We used the extra money to travel to many places and stay at Some Air b and b a month at time and still have extra money to put in our savings account. It was a great plan. May be later we can rent a service apartment in Reno (much cooler) and stay there 4 months a year.

I was born and have lived in Los Angeles California all 49 years of my life. All those states on that list have one thing in common and absolutely 💯 nobody is allowed to say it. The problem goes way beyond economic incentives.
One other thing, and this is NOT being said to be mean to those lookig for better lives. The United States does NOT have unlimited resources to continue to receive the world's impoverished.
We cannot continue to allow "Sanctuary" cities to bring in MORE people that require MORE taxes to pay for MORE services that God knows how many of our own people are not getting, including veterans.
People can't say these things because they will be immediately canceled, banished, and lose their stupid SAG/Aftra cards.
I get it, people from war torn impoverished miserably broken countries desperately want to have a better quality of life. *SO DO WE* and not every American Citizen has that because they are consistently required to pay for more wirh more labor only to be rewarded less while our city, county, federal employees, and officials play God with our resources and lives.
"America is a nation of immigrants though and many new immigrants work jobs Americans don't want to" is NOT an excuse anymore. We have to fix now for who we have now and with what we have. God almighty stop this woke chaos.

Without rich people, there will be fewer business start ups, less income tax revenue, less real estate tax revenue (which leads to fewer services (road repair, cops, government workers)... The wealthy and those with a brain left in droves. Also I envisioned these friends and family members of mine, who never valued shit I had to say, paying some form of dire consequences for their ignorance. They were robbed, priced out, uninsurable, and the last and worst thing, unable to move because of all the economic factors that come from a state that had all of its earning potential completely leave. Since coming here, I have earned degrees in business, state licenses, finally get the VA care Im supposed to, and now have a career and own a home and drive a car that I would never have had if I remained in California spinning my wheels like I was. When I speak to people of the past, the scorn in their voice is blatantly obvious, they dont know how to have a decent conversation with me. I will gracefully speak to them as though nothing happened, but because they know I am thriving, they cant even be happy for me, because of all the shit they dished my way. We're not wealthy, so we'll be staying (we're also old, and our mortgage is paid off). [regarding the "destination states," we've lived in Florida (8 years), Texas (2 years), Colorado (4 years), and Utah (less than 1 year)--our favorites of those being Colorado and Utah, with Texas 3rd (Texas is the friendliest, but the summertime heat!). Lots of nice places in the USA to live or visit.]

@@_WILDANDFREE_ Well, the kids go out the door at 18. Maybe we will send them a postcard with a return address to the new place if we like them enough. LOL.
More seriously, I grew up in the Midwest and the only reason I came to California was because of jobs. If I can have a nice job and move away from California, I will. And that seems likely since I'm sitting right now at my mom's farm in Michigan for the next two weeks working on my NASA contract job.
Also, my daughter is currently working in Boston, so the family is already spread across the country. She plans to come to the farm in Michigan to work remotely for two weeks for her Boston job in October, and I'll fly in from California to spend those two weeks working in Michigan too.

Didn’t California pass a law that those wealthy people leaving still have to pay California income tax for ten years after they move?
So, the State will still be able to meet their budgets????

    • @alansnyder8448
      @alansnyder8448 ปีที่แล้ว +4

A "socialist" democratic proposed it three years in a row, but it hasn't passed. When I head about the law, that was the final straw for us, and we will be leaving shortly too before they have time to implement it.

Balance budgets? The people who left no longer receive CA benefits (schools, parks, infrastructure, etc.) so why should they pay anything?

We live in a nice neighborhood in TN (average home sold $903,000 last month). My brother's area starts at $1.6 and his 5 new neighbors "escaped" CA. I went to a meet and greet. All worked from home, sold their CA home and bought one 4 times bigger for half the cost. The biggest complaints: taxes, fees, prices, traffic, "lunatics in charge", "worst state to do business, build anything or start anything." Violence and spreading crime. Two worked for one of the many financial companies that's fled.
The couple from San Francisco (two gay guys - lol) had hilarious stories about encounters with the homeless, crazies and druggies. Each made over $150,000 and saved $12,000/year in state income tax (none).
