Hey wobo, have a question (i hope you'll see it). We noticed cooked food can get frozen up again (when stored in barrels for example). Do you know if it does actually lasts longer when it gets frozen again or does the time for it to spoil depends on the cooked stated (baked/boiled/dried)?
I'm currently playing on Sakhal and am having temperature issues...my character keeps going into yellow temperature and wiping my forehead, and saying "wheww". I only cool down if I take off my clothes and I can run around outside without getting cold for quite some time. I've taken every single medication available, but nothing helps. Does anyone know what's going on?

Id take my gloves and hat/mask off while at a fire. If your temp is in yellow you only lose hydration, you don't get sn illness
You shouldn't be able to overheat just from insulation alone on Sakhal, even indoors. You'd need to be near a heat source, but taking your gloves and hat/mask should fix it. However, I've had my character's temperature bug out a good few times* since the map came out. Not sure what fixed it though. It's always 2 steps forward and 10 steps back with these devs
Just carry a torch with you. They are still super op for drying clothes and keeping you warm. If you drop all your clothes on it they will dry within like 20 seconds
They need to fix being sick on Sakhal. Meaning, it's very hard to get sick on Sakhal. I have probably 200 hours on Sakhal now and have not gotten sick once. It's way easier to get sick on Chernarus now with the rain as a fresh spawn. Since the Sakhal update.. I've gotten sick on Chernarus as a fresh spawn almost every time it rains. On Sakhal, like I said, I've never gotten sick, ever.
Yea keeping your buff to not stay sick is annoying not survival. When we can just pop a vitamin or codine and be fine. Plus with firefighter gear on you dry in seconds.
I remember only getting pneumonia when Sakhal first got released but everytime after that, I'm a freshie running around without a heat buff consequence free. They won't ever do it but Sakhal really should have frostbite.

Kinda bent they got rid of the heat buff you got from being in vehicles. I would've been okay with it being removed or nerfed if you didn't have say all the doors or something. But I think vehicles should've been a valid way of drying off/getting warm

Phneumonia is the most pointless sickness. You do not ever get it unless you're a brand new player. And since players with any small amount of knowledge about the game can easily avoid this, making it, again, pointless. Sakhal is easy to survive and constant fires doesnt add the survival aspect of the game at all. And since your always making fires theres 0 risk to getting any of the sicknesses making it if anything EASIER

You could just go rat mode and bush camp until someone runs put with all the juicy loots lol. Same thing as the bunker in sahkal. All the best gear is there, but not really. I was a freshy, found a spark plug, and just so happened to get lucky enough to find a boat on the east coast. So I hit every island in like 1.5 hours and had two DMRs with 3 mags and all full of ammo, with an acog.. an m4 with 2 60rnd mags both full of ammo. The most geared feahy ever all without even getting near the bunker and getting door camped while coming out. So by that standard, you could say there is no point in a bunker either unless you really want an svd or akm. Lol
The devs literally made all this so stupid they should have just used what namalsk has used for the past 4 years... once again devs giving us somthing nobody asked for just fix the AI/Zombies and optimize the game the amount of stuttering and dysnc the game gets after the new dlc update is like 5 steps backwards in terms of optimization.
Sounds like Sakhal survival would be made much easier by keeping a filled hot water container on one's person, getting into such a rhythm. On Chernarus that's something I've never thought about doing on purpose, but even there it would be highly beneficial. Sakhal isn't for me but from watching ppl's videos and streams, one of the big challenges is if you're in an extended enemy engagement, you get interrupted sooner than later by the need to warm up, and so the fight comes to a standstill because it's time to disengage and make a fire. And that really sucks. A lot of experienced players don't think of the cooking pot as anything worthwhile but on Sakhal this appears to be yugely and bigly important. I gots to have my cooking pot on Chernarus and Livonia anyway, as I vastly prefer not to cook in fireplaces found in buildings. Rather take my chances in the forests doing that.
It'd be a waste of time, and they lose heat pretty quickly You're honestly better off just making a quick fire with all the firewood bushes around the map, or using a torch inside a structure

The heat system is totally broken ! Once you are geared up, you spend a good proportion of your time with a yellow icon ! It's even worse on non-ice maps ! Just gearing up will cause you to overheat. And if you remove something like your face covering then you get the blue icon !

Oh so more stupidity sounds about right this game isn't even about survival anymore just too easy. What happens when you let cry babies dictate how your game works. And you know only the basics of survival. Makes for a boring game even PVP to me hold corner and win all it is. Been playing Tarkov since the start of wipe around August and all these DayZ changes seem to be in very poor taste. Ive played DayZ 8 years now and the direction its going seems poor. Thank god for community servers. Hoping for a big update soon with welcomed additions.

Sakhal was a flop, empty islands, loot flow sucks, choke points everywhere. Yeah we needed a desert map not the garbage they gave us.

It changes with the time of day and weather effects. If its dark or windy youll be colder

No, I think each server has its own "calendar" irrespective of our IRL calendar.
Livonia is set to summer, Chern autumn and Sakhal winter. Community servers can change that, or allow the year to match real time for every day

The heat system is totally broken ! Once you are geared up, you spend a good proportion of your time with a yellow icon ! It's even worse on non-ice maps ! Just gearing up will cause you to overheat. And if you remove something like your face covering then you get the blue icon !

Oh so more stupidity sounds about right this game isn't even about survival anymore just too easy. What happens when you let cry babies dictate how your game works. And you know only the basics of survival. Makes for a boring game even PVP to me hold corner and win all it is. No one wants a woodland on xbox too many have ran even in the middle of north west on xbox. Games a joke and has been since they left arma 2. I'd rather play the original but not possible on console dispite the games mostly server side and dayz runs so that can too.
This game has gotten too complicated over the years in the wrong area and completely lost its original mission. It's slowly becoming HOI4.
Been playing Tarkov since the start of wipe around August and all these DayZ changes seem to be in very poor taste. Ive played DayZ 8 years now and the direction its going seems poor. Thank god for community servers. Hoping for a big update soon with welcomed additions.
Why do the devs feel the need to keep fiddling with things like survival and balance?
The only thing these devs shoild be worried about now is the zombie ai, it's atrocious and frankly embarrassing in 2024.
