I’m hoping they plan to implement size adjustments to assembled weapons. Removing the stock, it’s shorter, now that baby SMG fits. Oh you’ve added a suppressor, now it’s longer, that will not fit!
Well, the case requires free slots. It will be more of a problem than solving it. Also I have full NBC in the scientist's case with out the gas mask if not mistaken. so your suggestion is already in the game. Still. Requires free slots (24) if not mistaken.
@@the-expertstreetb-racer5832 the scientist case is only on sakhal and you don't need the suit there as there are no gas zones. You can hangout on the top of the volcano tho. I don't think you are playing on an official server and may have different things in your server. The only way u will get full nbc in the scientific briefcase and use it is if you find the case on sakhal and then move it to chernarus or Livonia
they actually reduced its size once in the past i belive, now with the further inventory size nerf it would be nice if they could again but i wont hold my breath
I mean, it makes sense that it takes up a lot of space. NBC suits are usually made of a thick, stiff rubber. Not to mention the value they have, you gain access to the highest tier loot available in the game with an NBC suit. Typically, if it’s very valuable and worth carrying, it’s probably very heavy or volumetric.
I don’t mind dome of the inventory reduction and I feel like it makes it more realistic considering the absurd amount of stuff you used to be able to put in your pockets, BUT the one big thing I think they should revert is the field backpack. It is visually massive, making you much easier to spot and much harder to look around, and yet it is only 8 slots larger than the low profile combat backpack. I think they need to make carrying such a massive backpack at least somewhat rewarding.
Maybe they should revamp the inventory screen to add separate slots for the little pouches in various bags. That should give some needed extra space, while still preventing players from bagging rifles.
They should just revert inventory size changes to the backpacks. I can kind of understand not being able to carry a cooking pot in your tshirt off spawn, but the whole point of a backpack is to carry your stuff. It didn't need to be reduced. I personally think there should be gear sets dedicated to item storage that are more visible/colorful and less insulated while some gear sets are more insulated and camouflaged but have less inventory space. There's just better ways they could've done it and pleased more people with the change rather than just a full on reduction to everything across the board.
How bro as a ghillie the whole point is I am trying not to carry that much shit. With the temp changes this makes camo clothes really good imo because you don't have to worry about the space a field jacket gave. I usually play and don't mind, but now it just made the field bag the absolute most ass bag.
@@LaztheLax the belt with a canteen and holster and sheath is more than a hip bag. There’s no reason they can’t make it so the smaller packs are wearable with a ghillie. At least make it realistic and not completely dumb. You can wear a ghillie over a small pack. Also give us ponchos that fit over all clothes like real life on the warmer maps.
@@CCXCIXit's a good update really, people take far more than they'll ever need. I just wish we didn't have to eat and drink as much, it's quite excessive
I play solo and I like this change very much. Forces me to hunt and fish more. Makes you be thoughtful on what to carry and what to pick up. Now I only carry my beloved SK and a silenced pistol for zombies. The rest is just exploring and surviving. Love it.
on long guns that have removable stocks, that should be reflected in inventory space, i.e. remove suppressors and/or stock to more easily fit in say a field bag.
Don't forget, they did away with that feature....it was supposed to happen, hence the "foldable stocks" and then awhile ago they stupidly, and completely unrealistically, changed all those _real_ , foldable, stocks....to "lightweight" instead.... and completely scrapped their long standing promise of giving us folding, less inventory taking, stocks..... laziness. They'd rather change easy text files and pretend they're doing something instead of _actually_ improving the game with the huge list of _promised_ content and features.
@@Dottol- sure, its fun if you are the person shooting at the individual using the longhorn, fun to watch them struggle reloading as you line up your headshot.
It would be okay if I didn´t need to carry 2 gun cleaning kits because my MP5 needs repair every 60 rounds I fire and silencer every 20 rounds. Talk about realism.
um.. have you ever put any real thought into it? when you repair a gun. the best condition you can get it in is "worn".. a WORN OUT suppressor still wont last long. if you find a 100% health supresser, it still breaks a little too fast imo, but its honestly fine. you just dont find perfect suppressor often. rememeber jsut because it says "pristine" does not mean its at 100% health
@@kanadiacoolaid7902 have you ever used a suppressor irl? I’m gonna say no because there are cans that can last 80k rounds or more so I’d say it’s far for realistic
@@kanadiacoolaid7902 Yes, I did, that´s why I´m talking about it. Even if I go 20 rounds from worn to damaged and then another 19 rounds and repair it just before it's supposed to go into badly damaged. Not only do I need to manually count how many rounds I fired to be able to maximize the use of the silencer, but it´s still tedious. All I do is basically circle around hunting camps to find kits. At least make the kit last for 8-12 charges.
3000 hour player here, it feels worse after the patch, if one of your mates dies, you cant pick up any of his stuff anymore. Also with all the repair kits you constanly need and weapons + supressors breaking every 3 shots, its just awul
I think that's a good thing imo. The more punishing it is to die the better imo. It adds more weight to engagements knowing my buddy can't just grab my stuff and meet me in 15 minutes
I've been finding more repair kits now that everybody isn't taking every single one that they find. Especially gun cleaning kits! Also, the point is if you die you die. Take your friends best gear, and throw him a bone once you hook back up. That's DayZ.
100%. This helps me play the game as intended. Give me more frequent loot to choose from and less room to carry it, reducing my NEED to hoard. The game feels better, and I actually have stamina!
I absolutely hate these changes. I agree that people were carrying too many guns, but collecting/carrying stuff around to build a base, get a car going, or get a full NBC suit was already extremely prohibited by carrying capacity. All these activities are basically out of the question now.
I love Sakhal, it’s turning out great. Livonia is not great at the moment, it needs work. Its lost its open huntsmen feel completely, needs more rifles, less of the other guns and just a rebalance in general.
As a veteran let me tell you that you can fit a ridiculous amount of gear in your pockets, a slight reduction makes sense but they should have increased the noise and stamina penalty instead.
@@jordanhester4821coming from a perspective where I play solo for over a thousand hours with a ghilli that already had terrible space and barely enough to hold what I needed. Plates add to much weight and even with vests it was a struggle to carry survival gear with a gun kit now it's basically impossible to have anything on a light kit. So glad Arma dropped on PS 😂
All we wanted was a bike. A fucking bike, Sakhal is a massive Fucking disappointment and they continue to disappoint us all. Everyone keeps playing Namalsk, lol.
I loved the space reduction. It felt like a natural choice and it could lead to yet some more interesting developments like a weapon's bag (10x3) or specific holsters like with the Windstride clothing pack mod
The inventory nerfs feel brutal, minimizing our options with gear. Used to enjoy dressing up in civilian clothes, small backpack. Now I can't reasonably carry a small kit with it
@@csgrip3327 I did agree that inventories needed an adjustment, specifically in the shirt and pants, however the backpacks and capacity vests had the single intention of being for carrying items. It just feels like a little much.
I enjoy the new update. I like the extra challenge associated with less inventory space. If feels more realistic. You shouldn't be able to conceal any long gun in a pair of pants or jacket
@@nkz1091because dayz community doesnt know what they want or what their opinions are. They are ruining their game while other games keep coming out and taking more and more of the population away
DayZ is a game of extremes, think of it like this, when an item like a soda can is “badly damaged” it would mean it is cut up, dented, and one small impact away from busting open and losing all of it contents. A t-shirt having inventory slots would be your character tucking it in to their pants and dropping the items down into the shirt itself to store them. It’s a survival game, you would probably drop a couple plums and maybe a can of food into your tucked in t-shirt to carry them until you had a better solution in a real life survival situation.
Building has always been horrible, so I stopped a long while ago. I suppose your right about this one. There has always been a need to improve base building. Currently, it's too much trouble for what little protection and convenience it provides. I imagine now it's nearly impossible.
start with wooden crates stashed close to where you wanna build. literally thousands of places to hide them where they will never be found unless walked over
@@Megustagasta bases can be seen from distance. a stash can't be seen until you walk over it. only bases i've built the last 2 years have had nothing inside. i've sat and watched a clan waste a lot of c4 to leave with nothing but nails they've stripped from the multiple doors
In the last 10+ years, when looking in comparison to community modders, we’ve gotten a rainy forest to roam around, a frozen tundra to stare at, and a few guns worth mentioning. We’ve had almost no weapon attachments, no new clothing or armor with any interesting looks or features, no vehicles, no base building, no trading system. No new quests or reasons to explore, you see the bunker once and you’ve reached the end game. Unless you have a group of people to goof with or some RP to follow, this game will forever remain in its “Beta” stages. DayZ has become the training course for the new Arma devs. They come into orientation, release a patch to prove themselves, and they leave it to the next freshy that comes along.
Field backpack holds too little for size of item Tactical back pack should hold more Devs should think about compass slots etc Also Xmas presents suck this year !
6:00 it feels worse because instead of adding new stuff in, adding mechanics into game or maps (like ffs cutting a hole in frozen lake or merge used kits/bandages, blowing on hot food to cool it down, pouring water out of boots because you cannot "squeeze them", adding gear slots on some backpacks (for ex mountain backpack sure have space for axe, knife, canteen, rope - any of that sh*t) you waste time on reducing inv slot because "you feel" like players want lest inv room to manage stuff... That should be sole decision for each player. I used to run with hunter backpack at max (given the model and inventory size), but not it's useless and you have to grab at least a combat one. F that, it will just make officials even more barren than it is.
This change made the game harder. Which is good. Cutting a hold in the frozen lakes would be too easy How could you merge 2 bandages? Have you seen a bandage in real life? Adding all these gear slots to backpacks would literally just make the game easier. Just say you are bad at the game and move on.
Yeah I completely agree, I used to run without a bag because I liked the look of my character without one. I like to look like an operator rather than a survivor sometimes. Why would anyone run a Gillie now.
@grantfreeman5327 with the right clothing you can still have like 80 item slots You would run with a ghillie to stay hidden, 80 slots is more than enough.
@@societyisscaredofmasculine8546 He has a valid point. Why can't we add items to the outside of our backpacks? If it is a true survival game and they are aiming to make it realistic then they should surely add this. Also he is right to say that it should be the decision of the player to choose their play style. Do you want a plate carrier, or an assault vest with much more storage? Do you want a field backpack that's visible from a mile away, or settle for a sleeker but less versatile burlap backpack? With the reduction in inventory space most people will be looking for the highest carrying capacity items and the distinctiveness of our loadouts will be diminished. The devs seem intent on making the game as inhospitable as possible, and not in a fun way.
Honestly ! It feel so much realistic, but when they gonna understand that WE need bottle, axe, cowbar, or hammer slot on back packs with the belt on the skin of military ones.... It feel so dum that you can't place a masse on the small right or left belt of your back pack...
All backpacks should come with a hatchet slot. It's not an effective weapon, but for a survival game it makes the game more enjoyable. Also, some backpacks should have a tiny "dry Slots" for matches or batteries. What about a Road Flare Slot? I might actually carry. We need more dedicated slots!
Gameplay is much better now and I like these changes. However, I would make loot more unique with some extra item slots for specific items. Like a tripod slot in the mountain backpack, map and compass slots in some tourist or military backpacks etc. Small but nice additions.
nerf the storage eh id just like to be able to sync with a ladder in game, or maybe not have ghost bullets, or maybe not have a gun bug, or maybe more realistic zombies movement. i had to get that out.
In general I think it is ok to reduce inventory size but not one third. Imagine you could fit 2 MP5s/UMPs in your jacket and another 2 in your vest 😂 The problems I have is, since official servers really lack loot and are difficult to play, you have to loot military locations and keep like every gun, magazine and ammo type you could get your hands on to have at least one working gun in the end. On top of that you should get some repair items, food and something sharp. On such servers you have so many just in case moments that you cant just ignore everything. In my opinion, they reduced the large field backpack, because you can carry a chest in it and another one within a fieldbackpack in your hands. But then increase the size of a chest like a log beeing 3x11 tiles. A game should not only be realistic but also be fun.
@@--6.6.6-- Yes, it is what the game is supposed to be about. But they've sacrificed so much so the CoD kiddies can feel like they're playing an average FPS :]
I feel like if they are going to reduce the space on just a few low tier items that's fine but there should be a few things that still can carry allot, or if they want to keep it as it is maybe a great time to add a new set of hunting and military clothing and maybe a new backpack which is like a combat backpack size but has molle attachments you can find maybe even one to carry a rifle, For instance even a 50 slot pack but with 2 or 3 attachment slots, and maybe could add in a few different pouches, maybe one nbc only, or one medical then maybe a rifle attachment or pouches in a few sizes, so as you go through the map you get the backpack, then try to find the add on attachments and maybe you can only add one or options to it
Actually one of the good things dev made, because after two chads fight and both die, there is always a goblin that takes whole shit and run away, the nerf makes you think fast what to take and what to leave, once i got a guy with like 7 glowsticks and 10 bone knife, that is stack of bones, 7 glowstick takes up to 14slot, 10 bone knife takes 20 slot because they are 1x2, you can carry stack of bones which is 20 and 2x2 bruh
for some gear it makes sence but for vests especially the assault vest? based off the skins they use to show the individual vests the capacity is a joke.
I do believe it needs some reworking. The assault vest for example should be able to carry a at least 24 slots. The Smersh rig (which is what it is) can (at minimum) carry 2 rifle magazines (3 slots a piece) in each mag pouch, which there are 4 of. 6x4=24. It also has small grenade pouches, but being able to attach grenades to it would be the solution to that in my opinion.
@quinlanreed7162 exactly. add in the spacious capacity of the buttpack no being only 24 slots it dosnt make sense. if the devs are truly worried about not storing extra long guns then just divide the space into 2. left and right. on consol it makes no difference either for long guns as slot numbers just matter not dimensions.
since capacity changes in 1.26 it encourages you to switch more to stashing backup loot and even base building became more interesting now, which controversially was never really intended by the DayZ devs in the first place. So there's that.
Yeah, I’m not fond of base building at all. I genuinely think they could help the game by having basing and non-basing servers. Base building ruins the entire point of a hardcore survival game if you can just play it like rust. Not to mention mega-bases causing severe server performance issues.
@@quinlanreed7162I’ve been saying this for years back when DayZ had no base building it was actually good and forced u to actually play the game instead of just sitting in your base waiting for someone to pass just to GL them. The problem is they are trying to be like rust and not DayZ
OK, so now they need to make it where the gun size actually shrinks if you take off the stock and then give heavy penalties for having no stock on it. Because I just feel like if you take a stalk off a weapon. It should reduce its inventory. Sit makes the stock follow bowl if you put a fold stock on it plus some guns need to be smaller. The M4 is much smaller than the AK. So I think it needs to be like 18 slots. So is the S5 in the vs? SI feel like there should be only 21 slot weapons max?
I like the changes, even as a loot goblin. I used to have so much stuff I would fear gunfights. I play the game more how it was intended. Ironically, I find more loot more often since people can siphon everything in one pass. Even with the increased wear and tear on everything, it gives me more motivation to "loot and scoot", increasing encounters of engagement to loot someone I killed! My kit is constantly changing over time instead of trying desperately to keep what I have. The game feels more dynamic and loot progression feels better. I am happy.
Best way to learn how to manage inventory is to play the spacesuit with 35 slots +belts, you quickly figure out the essentials Also, the best belt to carry still is the improvised belt with rope, and knife, as they take 3slots each anyways and both items are must have imo. Water in the holy cooking pot. Pistols become dangerous endgame and unnecessary. You don’t want to run into heavy geared player with an mk2. I like these changes, as you will be forced to travel lighter therefore more stam. I no longer use backpacks as it is the best way to carry useless stuff. You don’t want to carry food anyway as it would be a shame to feed your killer ;)
Dont screw with the community side of the game. It's the only reason it's still alive. Put items in the game file. But keep them 0. Let community server owners have the option to put them in the server. Everyone is happy.
merry christmas, wobo. i guess it wont be an easy one bc of your loss this year, but i wish you all the best anyways. thanks for all the content! and for your question: i really like that i have to make decisions now on what to carry and what to leave behind. next i want them to find a way to make smgs more interesting bc i never use them
I only think the tactical vest should still be larger than the field vest. I always considered the tactical vest to be a high tier vest where instead of armor you get extra slots, it doesn't really feel that way anymore now.
If the heat got resized, the inventory that goes in it needs the same treatment. Across the board, the items that you carry are ridiculously huge. A lot of these items can be squeezed into small areas in real life. An instance of this is rags. Why does 1 rag take up 3 spaces, when you can literally stuff that into any leftover space from any other item.
(Paragraph warning) I personally dont like it, and thats coming from someone who carries like 40-50 slots worth of items max. Just extra mags, food, water, and medical supplies. I'm not personally negatively impacted by the change, but i feel like if little timmy wants to carry around 6 ARs 2 sidearms and a melee weapon along with his base building kit and food/medical supplies then he should be able to. The hoarder playstyle never negatively affected me, i never looked at someone who had more gear and bigger stashes than i did and got mad about it. DayZ is a game about player choice, removing that choice just because some of the community and developers want it gone is not a good thing to me. They should aim to please everyone and accommodate as many playstyles as possible, not strip them down and say "Nahuh you cant play like this anymore". Especially when they've spent years now casually applying debuffs to players who overload their inventory. Inertia changes, stamina penalties, wetness debuffs, noise changes. All these things added simply rendered useless because no one is going to be able to carry enough to make a difference anymore. Now do i think it was okay that on console you could shove an AK-u in some plate carrier pouches with room to spare? No. But i feel like the changes shouldve been made more selectively instead of just across the board nerfs. Plus the way i see it is that DayZ isnt a realistic game anyway, realism is a convenient excuse the community loves to use when a change is implemented and they cant actually find an argument to convince others that it is a positive change. After all, wolves dont howl when hunting in real life. Gun cleaning kits are for maintenance, not repair. Shoes can be ran in for miles over paved roads and sidewalks before noticably starting to wear down. Supressors can withstand thousands of rounds over time, not just like 50. One can of food and a bottle of water can last days if you need to it to. Anyone with any experience using a rifle can hold it steady when aiming, but our character has the most limp wrist you'll ever see. There are tons of examples of non-realism in the game. Ill never get behind the "we changed this because its more realistic" argument. DayZ is a video game not a simulator. You are not bear grylls surviving an apocalypse, you are a person sitting in front of a monitor controlling a fictional character in a virtual world. Not everything needs to be realistic.
heavy agree, people can cry skill issue but killing people feels even less rewarding when we're all carrying the same optimized kit just today, I fought 3v4v2 at petro, capital city and after winning I realized the only gain was a fucking GPS 6 bodies of kit and we burnt most of the loot because it was shit we already had
I love the reduced inventory for such a brutal game. It felt ridiculous that you could carry so many items.🤷♀️ but I’m in it to play a challenging game. I guess some people like it easier.
Problem is the items and the slot format, a cooking pot is 12 slots, it can hold 1 liter of water but you can fit 4 plastic bottles in it which can hold 0.5L each Make the inventory and the items volume based
Personally I love the new loot changes, I do they could be tweaked a bit but on the whole I think it gives the game and survival aspects a much more real feel. Also this will really make cars key for base raiding.
I've enjoyed the inventory reduction. I play solo/duo on official. Makes it hard to go for NBC gear or base building but I don't do those things often. I also like the way there's less guns around spawn now. Everyone's just that bit more desperate
I find these nerfs only really affect modded maps. The necessary inventory was really only good for people with groups of 3 or less looking for "progress/key items" or to carry an excess of survival tools on harder maps like Namalsk and Iztek due to the variety of hazards from animals to heavier weapons. My vanilla experience was barely impacted but it definitely hurts to not be able to carry that one utility item or magazine. But I will say these changes have stopped some people from being filled to the brim with 400 bullets or 8 extra mags.
I've been playing on a usually empty community Sakhal server with modified loot. If the mods didn't spawn cars in almost ready to drive, it would be unplayable with the storage nerfs.
It's an interesting change because I find myself making difficult decisions about what I carry. Should I drop this gun that doesn't work yet for some food? Or maybe a melee weapon? In pre 1.0 dayz the inventory was more limiting than 1.25. it was balanced because pre 1.0 didn't have stamina and you could run forever. But now there is a downside to carrying a lot. Currently the inventory nerfs are too oppressive. If the developers want to discourage carrying a lot of loot, it should be done with more maybe more movement nerfs. It should be possible to carry a lot for the players that want to play like that. Make it have drawbacks, but don't make it impossible.
These changes don't bother me because I practically never live long enough to get super geared up and get bored in the first place. This is just another challenge for me!
I like the reduced capacity for the most part but I’m an experienced player. For a less experienced player, these changes will make it more difficult to play. The NBC capacities are fine but I feel like it should be much easier to carry NBC gear. As in… make the whole kit fit into a protective case.
players are probably going to look more similar, because its less feasible to wear lower tier civilian clothing. Less people wearing dresses etc. might also get more "trash loot" since people have less clothing to choose from realistically. Also I imagine people are going to rather keep their ruined clothes on than replacing them.
As a player who doesn’t waste time on base building and playing dayz natural way I noticed zero changes. I still carry everything I used to and even more useless stuff like 4 cans of beacon
Bulkier things should weigh/take more space and also hold more space. Field bag need increased, weapons need reduced without stocks/attachments and sawed off.
I think inventory was probably a bit much before but they've nerfed it too much ; And its not like they give us a zillion ways to safely store item either...
Now that I have a few 100 hours on the changes the slot reduction was really easy to get used to. To be fair my game play has changed but I have found a load out that has worked really well for me as far as cloths. Far as I'm concerned it feels the same.
I wonder when they are going to add the option to actually flip stuff in your inventory on console. Would be good to also add bicycles, or make cars more useful and plentiful.
I think at first it was well ... not good to have less loot on you, but now I feel like with the best gear you are still able to do stuff as before. Just it takes more time and running. If you really want to have a lot of loot with you... well do ask yourself do I really need it? This change adds a lot to the survival and makes you think more about what you carry around. Also, great video as always Wobo happy beautiful Christmas to you :)
the number of people playing the game as if it was rust is skyrocketing ! sad for those basebuilders people. But for the legacy players like me who enjoy the game as a one life one adventure its a bit more hardcore i like it. but give us a box to put the nbs gear at least or its almost impossible to do it.
i love the change it makes it more interesting when looting it feels importen now :) there are one thing that i will say is a negetiv thing i dont loot NBC gear anymore at all it take way way way to much space i am not doing gas zones in dayz anymore i and 99% im never going to again not until NBC gear fits better in inv
They need to fix the field backpack to pick up 2 logs. It has 64 inventory from 90 and logs are 33 each. They could easily fix this by making a log 32 slots each so if you have an empty bag you can hold 2 logs in your bag instead of 1. This isn’t a crazy buff compared to the fact you used to be able to carry 5 logs in your inventory pre nerf. (2 in back on back, 2 in in bag in hands, 1 in any 42 slot shirt like field jacket)
@ nah not when your trying to base. Hard is better but give a solo base builder a chance to actually carry logs, going from 5 to 2 is a huge nerf to base builders especially those who aren’t duping on console
what happens when I had full inventory before and now spawn with this inventory after update? I always loved to go no backpack in late game, I guess that is much harder now.
Honestly they shouldn't change NBC an all the high end milliary backpacks because you need to look forward to something when getting geared the clothes that's fine keep them the same
Actually gonna give my opinion here as a good, fellow loot goblin that i always was(and don't have that many hours on DayZ, 500 Prolly). I think the reduction on the clothes are a bit sad but, they're ok for the most part(except the military gear that should be normal, as well as some jackets since a jacket can have many pockets and stuff), but the backpack nerfs are kinda brutal specially if you're planning on build bases. Hatches, Axes, Wires that are fucking 2x3 and Handsaws, plus your normal loot for basic survival takes a loot of spaces and since cars are NOT easy to maintain(i play as a solo), it gets really hard. I think they should make so that we can carry more "stuff" on bags but like, have waterbottles/canteen slots, lantern slots, even a medium slot that you can carry tools or small fire arms you know? or maybe add some new bandolier that you can fit in your armband slot like some mods have. I feel like, and since i started to play already in modded dayz, the game pushes away the "peace" kinda of people on dayz that just like to survive you know. My pc it's already really bad so, since it lags while pvping i enjoy a lot just seeing the nature, hunting animals and just crossing the map exploring it's beaulty. I mean, i have over 1000 on zomboid and with the new build 42 bringing a lot to the table with hunting, blacksmithing and a whole new area of the map, i figure that a game like dayz that's been produced by over the years can have the opportunity to immerse us more in the zombie apocalyptic world. i mean, it can be little as just securing a door or windows with planks(even fucking no more room in hell have this) or have another way to lock bases because dials actually suck. Sorry for any mispellings to, i'm from Brazil and i'm a little bit rusty on writing in english(just can read and listen very well)
This is why i like the Northmen servers where things like bandages only take 1 or 2 slots instead of 3. They need to start adjusting sizes of items, gloves don't need to take up the same size as a canned good, they're freaking gloves, they should take up a single slot at best.
I mean, having experience packing backpacks for 2-3 day hiking trips, clothing takes up a lot of space and weighs a good bit, most cloth gloves don’t roll up super well, they take up about the same space as canned food, but the real answer to the problem is: besides NBC (which should be difficult to carry, it is extremely valuable and it is thick rubber) why would you need spare gloves?
@quinlanreed7162 a pair of gloves takes up a lot of space in your backpack? Yeah I've always packed backpacks, did the rolling up clothes thing since I was a teenager and did a chunk of the Appalachian trail, and a pair of gloves is nothing they are basically flat and the size of your hand. Maybe you have inordinately sized hands, idk. But I carry two sets of gloves because they can be rare and if one pair is near ruined I use that pair until they go ruined, then I break out the fresh pair. But this goes back to a roll of five bandages takes 1 or 2 slots, so why shouldn't a couple rags do the same. You like the current system where a can of soup takes up the same space as a pair of cloth gloves, great! I don't, it seems counter to everything, that's my opinion.
Overall, carrying capacity reduction is a good thing. It takes away from the SIM/realism feleing of the game when you can sprint up a hill at full speed while carrying hundreds of kilos worth of stuff.
I really don’t like how the have made nightvision harder to get. It’s so annoying when you’re playing on low-mid pop and you can’t find anyone and on top of that the airfield crates just won’t give them to you. I like how they made the auto snipers harder to get, but I think the assault backpack should be able to fit a farming hoe, and the hunter backpack should have 56 slots
Loot Changes 1.26: th-cam.com/video/xjwseseenK4/w-d-xo.html
I’m hoping they plan to implement size adjustments to assembled weapons. Removing the stock, it’s shorter, now that baby SMG fits. Oh you’ve added a suppressor, now it’s longer, that will not fit!
All I ask for is a case to carry the NBC gear it takes too much space
Or if it was craftable and had its own slot. Kind of like the LEHS suit on Namalsk. It’s not terrible how it is now tho
I think it’s spot on, it’s visually not big enough to hold any large rifle without it sticking out the top realistically, so it’s perfect as is now
Vaild
Maybe they should revamp the inventory screen to add separate slots for the little pouches in various bags. That should give some needed extra space, while still preventing players from bagging rifles.
Ohh, those were the good times.
This makes wearing a ghillie suit quite impractical, removing that much needed space that not having a backpack created.
Should be able to wear a ghillie suit with a smaller backpack honestly. Like a hiking or assault pack or smaller. Even the hunting backpack.
@@BoneFromTheDalewe get a fanny pack at least
How bro as a ghillie the whole point is I am trying not to carry that much shit. With the temp changes this makes camo clothes really good imo because you don't have to worry about the space a field jacket gave. I usually play and don't mind, but now it just made the field bag the absolute most ass bag.
@ what? None of what you just said made any sense. Also the field bag only lost 10 slots and was already ass cause it was huge.
@@LaztheLax the belt with a canteen and holster and sheath is more than a hip bag. There’s no reason they can’t make it so the smaller packs are wearable with a ghillie. At least make it realistic and not completely dumb. You can wear a ghillie over a small pack. Also give us ponchos that fit over all clothes like real life on the warmer maps.

on long guns that have removable stocks, that should be reflected in inventory space, i.e. remove suppressors and/or stock to more easily fit in say a field bag.
That and sawing off weapons should make em weigh less
Yeah, surprised they didnt do this. Seems I should be able to remove my suppressor and stock to make and store separately to make room

Right!? Like if we’re so worried about realism an how much you can carry on your person then why does shit like that with the guns happen
um.. have you ever put any real thought into it? when you repair a gun. the best condition you can get it in is "worn".. a WORN OUT suppressor still wont last long. if you find a 100% health supresser, it still breaks a little too fast imo, but its honestly fine. you just dont find perfect suppressor often. rememeber jsut because it says "pristine" does not mean its at 100% health

Field backpack holds too little for size of item
Tactical back pack should hold more
Devs should think about compass slots etc
Also Xmas presents suck this year !
Cutting a hold in the frozen lakes would be too easy
How could you merge 2 bandages? Have you seen a bandage in real life?
Adding all these gear slots to backpacks would literally just make the game easier.
Just say you are bad at the game and move on.
Yeah I completely agree, I used to run without a bag because I liked the look of my character without one. I like to look like an operator rather than a survivor sometimes. Why would anyone run a Gillie now.
@grantfreeman5327 with the right clothing you can still have like 80 item slots
You would run with a ghillie to stay hidden, 80 slots is more than enough.
@@societyisscaredofmasculine8546Have you ever seen a bandage in real life?? It’d be very easy to do that.
They should revert the changes to the backpacks, and make a few of the jackets a little larger like the field jacket and the hunter jackets
Why? Harder is better.
Gameplay is much better now and I like these changes. However, I would make loot more unique with some extra item slots for specific items. Like a tripod slot in the mountain backpack, map and compass slots in some tourist or military backpacks etc. Small but nice additions.
Agreed 100%
Wobo, are you aware that the omk jacket has 30 slots?
nerf the storage eh id just like to be able to sync with a ladder in game, or maybe not have ghost bullets, or maybe not have a gun bug, or maybe more realistic zombies movement. i had to get that out.
This one probably had to take so much research. Thanks Wobo👏
In general I think it is ok to reduce inventory size but not one third. Imagine you could fit 2 MP5s/UMPs in your jacket and another 2 in your vest 😂
The problems I have is, since official servers really lack loot and are difficult to play, you have to loot military locations and keep like every gun, magazine and ammo type you could get your hands on to have at least one working gun in the end.
Thank god i don't have to play vanilla, wombles video on dayz really highlights how the devs only cater to a certain niche gameplay style

@jordanhester4821 the game should be about survival, yes. But imho it isn't and the changes aren't made with this goal.
I feel like if they are going to reduce the space on just a few low tier items that's fine but there should be a few things that still can carry allot, or if they want to keep it as it is maybe a great time to add a new set of hunting and military clothing and maybe a new backpack which is like a combat backpack size but has molle attachments you can find maybe even one to carry a rifle,
For instance even a 50 slot pack but with 2 or 3 attachment slots, and maybe could add in a few different pouches, maybe one nbc only, or one medical then maybe a rifle attachment or pouches in a few sizes, so as you go through the map you get the backpack, then try to find the add on attachments and maybe you can only add one or options to it
Actually one of the good things dev made, because after two chads fight and both die, there is always a goblin that takes whole shit and run away, the nerf makes you think fast what to take and what to leave, once i got a guy with like 7 glowsticks and 10 bone knife, that is stack of bones, 7 glowstick takes up to 14slot, 10 bone knife takes 20 slot because they are 1x2, you can carry stack of bones which is 20 and 2x2 bruh
for some gear it makes sence but for vests especially the assault vest? based off the skins they use to show the individual vests the capacity is a joke.
Pro tip..... Make a camp fire with sticks and hide it in a bush for a quick forty slots. Make multiple if you have to. Make sure you come back for it.
since capacity changes in 1.26 it encourages you to switch more to stashing backup loot and even base building became more interesting now, which controversially was never really intended by the DayZ devs in the first place. So there's that.
Base building is useless and a waste of time unless you have a squad of 4 on 24-7
Yeah, I’m not fond of base building at all. I genuinely think they could help the game by having basing and non-basing servers. Base building ruins the entire point of a hardcore survival game if you can just play it like rust. Not to mention mega-bases causing severe server performance issues.
@ completely agree.
I am happy.
One thing I don't see people talking about is how players will be lighter and be able to flank/reposition better/more often.
Best way to learn how to manage inventory is to play the spacesuit with 35 slots +belts, you quickly figure out the essentials
Also, the best belt to carry still is the improvised belt with rope, and knife, as they take 3slots each anyways and both items are must have imo.
It's the only reason it's still alive.

and for your question: i really like that i have to make decisions now on what to carry and what to leave behind. next i want them to find a way to make smgs more interesting bc i never use them
I only think the tactical vest should still be larger than the field vest.
If they lower the slot size, I wonder if the weight has been reduced also.
(Paragraph warning)
I personally dont like it, and thats coming from someone who carries like 40-50 slots worth of items max.
Not everything needs to be realistic.
heavy agree, people can cry skill issue but killing people feels even less rewarding when we're all carrying the same optimized kit

I've enjoyed the inventory reduction. I play solo/duo on official. Makes it hard to go for NBC gear or base building but I don't do those things often. I also like the way there's less guns around spawn now. Everyone's just that bit more desperate
Cargo pants are T2/3 areas? I found some in Sitnik garages by the Nurse Station not long ago... Might have been a rare spawn but, I'll take it 😂
Yeah, I have found them in Cherno sheds for example - not sure if it's accurate re them being T2/3
This changes made me choose clothings other than military and hunter cloting. All they need to change is the mount and field backpack.
It feels a lot worse especially on community servers
players are probably going to look more similar, because its less feasible to wear lower tier civilian clothing.
I gave up on vanilla on this. Would have preferred massive nerf to tshirts and some to pants but massive buff to backpacks
There was way more space than necessary. Its better now. Still wish more clothes and backpacks had attachment slots though
the number of people playing the game as if it was rust is skyrocketing ! sad for those basebuilders people. But for the legacy players like me who enjoy the game as a one life one adventure its a bit more hardcore i like it. but give us a box to put the nbs gear at least or its almost impossible to do it.
If they reduce the space of backpacks, then they should definitely at least reduce the size of certain backpacks as well.
i love the change it makes it more interesting when looting it feels importen now :) there are one thing that i will say is a negetiv thing i dont loot NBC gear anymore at all it take way way way to much space i am not doing gas zones in dayz anymore i and 99% im never going to again not until NBC gear fits better in inv
The length of wepons is not a thing on console so i can still carry a pocket m79 or m4
I mean you can still do loot runs with lots of nades and like 3 to 4 long guns so I don't really even feel the effect of it tbh.
Carrying 2 logs is just unrealistic, hard is better.
@ nah not when your trying to base. Hard is better but give a solo base builder a chance to actually carry logs, going from 5 to 2 is a huge nerf to base builders especially those who aren’t duping on console
@pelletqowew1239 build near trees, use a car or get a duo running around with 5 logs I just silly
@ I know but still I don’t like making things harder for base builders. It’s already hard enough to make a base
what happens when I had full inventory before and now spawn with this inventory after update? I always loved to go no backpack in late game, I guess that is much harder now.
There was a vipe on servers before patch
Honestly they shouldn't change NBC an all the high end milliary backpacks because you need to look forward to something when getting geared the clothes that's fine keep them the same
Loot goblins on console laugh at the pc players who have to play Jenga to use their inventory.
I’ve played on both, I wish console had the PC version of inventory honestly.
Wow this almost makes it impossible to build as solo on official 😮
Yes, every negative change they've made in the last several patches hurts solos more than squads
It's fine for me playinig solo
Sorry for any mispellings to, i'm from Brazil and i'm a little bit rusty on writing in english(just can read and listen very well)
Is there a way where we can go back to pre 1.26 where the clothes have full slots asking for community Xbox
Thanks Professor! 👍
It’s good. Makes you make sacrifices that could haunt you later. It is tough as a fresh …
But, I do agree that some items seriously need adjusting.
M65 having that little inventory space is ridiculous
I really don’t like how the have made nightvision harder to get. It’s so annoying when you’re playing on low-mid pop and you can’t find anyone and on top of that the airfield crates just won’t give them to you. I like how they made the auto snipers harder to get, but I think the assault backpack should be able to fit a farming hoe, and the hunter backpack should have 56 slots
More loot left for others it seems.
Higher chance to find what you may need instead of feeling like everything is already looted?
They need to focus on base building being updated in big ways.
If they wanna make shit realistic all of a sudden they should make the weapons last longer. m4s shouldn’t jam unless it gets shot.
