But Jews dont have bishops so James cant have been the 1st one. Joshua, latinised as Jesus, was a practising Jew. His followers were Jews. No one has any idea if they considered him the promised messiah or not but the messiah was just a man. Not half man half god. Thats a common Greek idea though.
