Maul begging mercy to Sidious was actually darker than I thought. He was asking for a quick death instead of him just flat out torturing him for who knows how long.
@Sandosam 9LL how? He fought against the most powerful force wielder in the dark side and when he lost, he asked for a quick death instead of being tortured for years to come. What about this made him look like a coward?

While his "Have Mercy... Please!" may have been more coward like, he may have been wanting either a quick death, or to be let free.
Option 1: Quick Death
Sidious did train Maul, and Maul probably realised that after Savage was killed and was brought down to the ground, Maul wasn't going to be able to win. So he perhaps tried calling for mercy, A Quick and Painless death. For Maul, it would be better than being tortured and left for dead for god knows how long.
Option 2: Being Let Free
He realised that after Savage being killed and being brought down, there was no chance of him alone taking Sidious down alone. So he cries for mercy, hoping to be let free. Either be detained and let out on some planet in an unknown territory, away from the outer rim. Sidious may take his sabers, but the ability to be let free and go away would give him a chance to train some one new, perhaps someone even better than Savage. It could give him another chance to take down sidious.
Option 3: Something else other than torture
After the death of Savage And being brought down, he realised Sidious is too powerful. Anything is better than torture or being tortured to death. So crying for mercy was an attempt for Him to try to get sidious to do anything else but torture

Sandosam 9LL you obviously can’t infer, most likely the result of a low iq. When he asked for mercy, he obviously meant a quick death, and sidious’s response can easily be interpreted as a mocking remark, or a rejection.
Its crazy how Sidious took them on with no effort whatsoever and just laughed the entire time.

Yoda's dream duel with Palpatine is symbolic because he is trying to save Anakin while also trying to defeat the Sith.
In the end, the Sith cannot be defeated unless he allows Anakin to "fall".
That makes it a comedy (tragedy)
I think it is also about choosing to save Anakin what brings the Sith's downfall. Luke could have killed Vader, and took his place (cause tha would happened if he did it) but by saving him, Luke defeat the Sith. it is a paralel that when Sidious and Yoda are falling the dram ends and Sidious announce their failure.

Damn I never really paid attention to how Anakin grew in power over the course of the Clone Wars. At first he was equals with Ventress then he went into almost killing Dooku.

While I won’t defend him to much he is legit going up against some of the greatest duelist in all of Star Wars history. For a reference imagine if he was in fallen order, he would literally destroy any of the sisters and maybe most of them at once and I love Cal but he doesn’t stand a chance against him I believe.

When it comes to Clone Wars it had a few good ones in the early seasons, but basically every lightsaber fight from season 4 onwards is just amazing.

Ok so gonna admit, when Kanan gets blinded by maul then fights him it was pretty cool
Seeing two villains fighting each other is incredible and TCW does it incredibly well. As there's no hero to root for, you would think it wouldn't be as exciting to watch, but what we're essentially seeing is two antagonistic forces being tested, and whoever prevails will go on to be the main antagonist to our heroes. Not only that, it makes the villain that does win seem even more terrifying as they were able to beat the other villains we previously feared.
Savage has potential if he understood how to fight instead of heavy slamming people

Interestingly I think the best teacher for Savage would've been anakin . They both rely heavily on brute force in combat but Anakin learned to do that efficiently and mixed it with speed .

I think so yes . Vader mixed his djem so with Soresu for a better defense and Makashi for a better offense ( lessons that he learned from fighting dooku and kenobi ) .
He channeled his brute strength with the outpost efficiency without getting too acrobatic( or because he can't ) , things that savage would benefit a lot of.

Clone wars are way more exciting. You can definitely see fluidity of movement with the animation of each fighg.
Rebels is more "ooh look at us were the good guys with lightsabers look at us pose so specifically with each attack, and before we attack cuz were so cool".
To expand more, i just think rebels was more for a younger audience.
You have to keep in mind that Kanan, Ezra, and the inquisitors are complete amateurs compared to Anakin, Maul, Dooku and Obi Wan, and even compared to Ventress or TCW Ahsoka. The episodes with the more experienced characters have better animation usually.
Raphael Khan even that taken into account the reason for rebels having crap battles is because of the rating. Rebels was TV-Y-7 while Clone Wars was TV-PG. clone wars was able to be more violent than rebels which resulted in better battles. Rebels suffered from this because they were very heavily restricted in how much violence they allowed to put on screen. Personal opinion tho
I like how Grevious probably knew he didn’t bring enough droids to capture Kamino but still tried to get in Obi-Wans head.

They typically are. The Jedi tend to go for any and every force baby they can kidnap. The sith in the other hand go only for the strongest they can find.

The most impressive thing in this video are not the lightsaber clashes, but how Darth Sidious manages to keep his hood on while doing flips and falling. I can't get my hood to stay on during a light breeze.

The scary part about sidious is, that he mastered all lightsaber forms with both hands and had the 2nd highest midiclorian County only behind Vader, but therefore having way more experience and training than them. He truly was the most powerful sith that ever existed.

I just wonder,why must they spin in the middle of the fight when you don’t need strength to make a deep cut(for a lightsaber) except for baiting
Because you need kinetic energy to break the guard of your opponent . One common misconception is that lightsaber react like sword when they get in " the bind" but they are not . Two sword glide on each other while two lightsaber somewhat stick to each others . So rather than being diffused by the saber gliding , the kinetic energy of a huge blow will be directly transferred to the other blade and either the opponent is disarmed either he is run-through with the blade of his opponent and his own if he doesn't take the blow with enough strength .
It is actually very physically demanding , it is also why they don't have cross guards generally , they don't have to fear that the blade just glide until their hand .
@@stormbringer2840 Facts. And if I'm not mistaken Padme actually got to hold Anakins lightsaber in the CW at some point and commented on how heavy the actual hilt was, but at how weightless the blade was.
Meaning that a lightsabers entire mass is located at the hilt which is why they can swing these things around so easily. In reality they're basically just swinging a very focused flashlight and that's how they can get so much speed AND power into their strikes. When there's no heavy blade to hold you back, your speed is dramatically increased.

7. Dark Ahsoka vs Obi-Wan and Anakin;
6. Darth Maul and Savage Opress vs Obi-Wan and Assaji Ventress;
5. Assaji Ventress and Savage Opress vs Count Dooku;
4. Ahsoka Tano vs Darth Vader (the only one worthy duel of Rebels);
3. Obi-Wan vs General Grievus (the 2nd one);
2. Darth Maul and Savage Opress vs Darth Sidious;
1. Anakin and Yoda vs Darth Sidious and Darth Tyranus.
That's a really top of the line list. As I read, I really wanted to know who would be at the top. I felt that I already knew. The top two was no joke and no surprise........................................................
I wonder where Ahsoka vs Maul will rank on this list. They got Ray Park (Who played Maul in The Phantom Menace and Solo) to mo cap the fight. Dave Filoni said it will be a very big lightsaber fight.

The rule of two was made because the Sith feared themselves more than the Jedi. All the sith wanted power, they killed each other for it. Hence Sidious's master created the rule of two. To make things simple and easier to manage, even if the apprentice would try to surpass the master.

Rebels didn't have many duels. Outside of Ahsoka/Vader, they weren't really as memorable as Clone wars. Not to mention Clone wars has like 3-4 more seasons than rebels.

I personally think the only problem that lightsaber duel have in Rebels is Ezra plot armour that are too obvious but other than that is fine to me though but still..... Rebels lightsaber duel choreography is a masterpiece compared to the sequel trilogy lightsaber duel choreography lmao

Plus they look weak because of it, and even the movies start to make them thicker because their better that way. They look like actual fucking blades instead of glowing, colorful toothpicks.

I loved the Savage-Dooku-Ventress free for all that led to Savage fighting Oni-Wan and Anakin. Crazy to think how it would’ve turned out had they got there earlier.
