18:50 Ian McDiarmid voiced Palpatine in Rebels Season 4 but also re-dubbed the character's cameo in Season 2 - This Revised version is exclusive on Amazon Video.

I think it might be unpopular opinion but I think that the two voice actors for clone wars do a better job than McDiarmid as he is now doing this weird creepy thing with his voice while the others sound more malicious/mysterious and refined. McDiarmids Palpatine sounds more like a gross ghoul in rebels and rise of skywalker, I find it strange how it seems like he has three interpreations of the voice of Palpatine which has gotten worse with every interpretation. ROTJ was goat, ROTS was weird but it a fun way, Rebels and ROS is like wtf are you doing tier why cant you imitate a character you played 14 years ago?

@@squidwart7778 For all intents and purposes, Palpatine's Galactic Empire was essentially a Sith Empire, just without the actual name. His goal, and that of his master Plagueis, was to get the Sith back to being the ultimate power in the galaxy after they were nearly annihilated by the Jedi and the Republic after SWTOR.
Because the original Sith Empire had all those things you mentioned from SWTOR (i.e., the Dark Council), they openly called themselves such and had no reason to keep it hidden from the entire galaxy or from the Jedi because of how much power they had obtained. But the Sith during the Clone War Era had severely dwindled in numbers as opposed to the vast amount of them operating during SWTOR, therefore forcing them to keep themselves hidden for fear of extinction.
The remaining Sith went into hiding, and eventually took to climbing the ranks in politics and the economy using deception and political maneuvering to achieve their vast wealth and power, but it was Plagueis that set forth the grand scheme that would allow the Sith to seize galactic power without revealing themselves to the Jedi and Republic while simultaneously eliminating both in the process.
We know the story from there, but multiple people ask that since Palpatine has all the power literally resting in his palm, then why does he never openly call himself a Sith emperor nor does he name his empire after the Sith. It's because as far as he is concerned, the whole galaxy believes the Sith are either extinct or were only a myth, similar with the Jedi Order after Order 66. To reveal himself now would undo centuries of hard work and careful planning done by the Sith before him to get them to where he stands are now.
The first Galactic Empire, lead by Emperor Sheev Palpatine is a facade to hide it's true nature: A new Sith Empire, under the evil rule of Darth Sidious and his apprentice, Darth Vader.

As a kid I never made the connection until the tie-in material prior to Episode 3 that Palpatine and Sidious were one and the same, for some reason. It's unreal that somehow, I missed the Emperor's theme playing over the very first clip here 5 minutes into Episode 1. It should've been obvious and a dead giveaway from the start, even to my 6 year old mind. Talk about a "Duh" moment XD

    *Dooku is the real MVP..*
Watching all of these videos has given me a new found appreciation for Dooku.
He really did ALOT of the heavy lifting for Palpatine. Furthermore, I honestly don’t think Maul was qualified. If Maul defeated Obiwan at the end of Episode 1, I still think Maul would of been replaced. Dooku was the only real candidate that could stand side by side with Palpatine as equals and pit both the Republic and Separatists against each other.
Sure Maul coordinated Crimson Dawn, but a collective of criminals can’t unify a planet of people to work together the way a political leader like Dooku can. Dooku was in the face of the cameras giving powerful speeches that swayed billions of kind, good, friendly people. Maul can’t do that. Thug tactics can only get you so far before the people turn on you.

Out of all times sidious would appear it would mostly be holographic messages or plannings, and during these moments where he would just constantly appear in holograms I thought he would never appear normally, and it happens that he appears normally in other scenes, however what I like about Palpatine being a hologram is that no other color but different shades of blue is seen which hides what he could truly look like and that his eyes are still hidden in the shadows, and I also like how in the prequels he is mostly in his chancellor appearence, and I like that, sidious in his chancellor look and having his eyes hidden makes him more ominous and more badass, he's by far the best out of the sith lords that have existed in the story of star wars, and when he's preformed as Ian McDiarmand (I forgot how his names spelled) sidious is in his Ultimate form which makes him more badass

Most people think that Phantom Manace refers to Darth Maul. However, he doesn't appear until almost a half way mark through the movie and speaks a total of 3 lines, 2 of which were spoken on balcony with Sidious. The title of this movie actually much more probably refers to Palpatine being a manace from the shadows, aka a phantom manace.

Yes! Plagueis: a Star Wars Story which is mostly about Palpatine's origins and him learning from him. Then the epilogue can be a scene from years after from just before Palpatine kills Plageuis on Coruscant. Because of his visions of Vader (after he saw Anakin arrive with Qui-Gon), Plagueis is morbidly afraid Anakin will ruin their plans. Plageuis suggest that they should "eliminate the boy (Anakin) before he embraces the darkness".
Palpatine does that same smirk with his tongue as in ROTS when he says "... but not himself" and the movie ends. We know what's going to happen.
