in 40 years and six routers later I never once thought about putting the hinge into the depth adjustment every day is a school day great video 👌
Watched loads of these videos. Yours is the one I'm going to follow for my project- really clear and gives me confidence
Cheers Bill! I really appreciate your comment and I am glad to be of help! 🍻👍
Keen DIYer and I’ve done quite a few hinges - usually quite badly. Watched your video and really liked the depth using the hinge trip. Applied what I’d learnt on new oak doors and the result was (with being big headed) absolutely perfect so thank you. I lived the off centre pilot holes trick too. Thank you
Thanks Buddy, nice easy video to watch and follow with nice clean results. Well done!
Thanks for the comment Stephen ! Glad I could help buddy !
thank you very much my friend for the knowledge
Your more then welcome and merry Christmas !
Excellent video, great tip about not breaking back out with the router.
Cheers buddy, really appreciate that 🍻
Very good video! 👍
Thank you buddy 🍻
Thanks! That's some helpful tips. I'm always struggling with hinges for some reason, but you make it look easy. Think I will have to give chisels (and planers!) on soft wood another go 👍🏼
It’s all practice buddy and using the methods that you feel comfortable with ! Stick with it buddy, have you watched my video on how to install hinges with hand tools ?
@@LTWCarpentry I have, and it's why I think I can get them right(er) now :)
@@twauster wicked mate, if you need any help at all just ask 👍🏻
Very reassuring video. Thank you for the inspiration and reassurance
Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment Ian 🍻
great video, thx! I dont quit get why you drilled the wood hole towards the back of the hinge hole instead of centering it. Can you explain why you wouldn't just position the hinge exactly where you want it from the start, and center the drill holes?
Such a useful video! Thank you!
Cheers Angus ! Glad I could help mate 🍻
Just come across your channel Lewis , some great info and tips , a follow from Ireland 👌🏻
Wicked buddy and welcome ! Still learning how all this works but loving making the vids, happy to have you here buddy ! If there’s anything you want videos on please feel free to ask !
@@LTWCarpentry No problem Lewis , now you got me thinking ! I will have to get my thinking cap on and throw a few video ideas your way 👍🏻

@@thewoodworker1703 brilliant mate ! Just followed you back ! Some amazing stuff you’ve got on there buddy ! Really like that wood on metal industrial look ! Proper smart isn’t it !
Really helpful video 👍👍👍👍
Thank you ! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I'm a novice but I'd like to try and make it work before I call a contractor. My interior doors (6 of them) are 49.5 pounds each and I hate to take them off the hinges to router out a section for the door handle's latch and the receiving section on the frame, but I guess its the thing to do. I've started on one and I've got an ugly wound with my dull chisels! I'm hoping that some wood putty and paint will cover my work...Very glad to get some perspective from someone who knows what in the hell their doing! lol!
Great advice fella
Cheers buddy and merry Xmas !
@@LTWCarpentry Merry Xmas to you too.
Thanks mate that was really handy 👍👍👍
No probs and thanks for the comment buddy 👍🏻
Estupenda Clase..Gracias desde Ecuador
Your more then welcome ! Glad I could help !
Good advice nice video
Thank you Nicholas 🍻
Rewatching 😆
Cheers buddy 👍🍻
I think using a chisel would of been way easier and quicker
Once your set up in a run it’s much faster to use a router buddy
What type of router bit you using?
Which router bit works best for door hinges mate?
I use a 3/4 inch cutter with a 1/4 shank buddy
Skills👍
Cheers buddy 🍻
👍👍👍
Cheers buddy 👍🏻
Doing that on the edge of a door is a bit different.
Not massively different buddy, I do it this way all the time 🍻
If only all doors didn't have a stop on the hinge side
@@e8aus do you mean the frame ?

Thank you beautiful xxxx
