The book the secret is from new age witchcraft. The prosperity gospel mirrors it and is heresy. This preacher isn't preaching prosperity gospel or what is in the book the secret. Given the chance I am sure he would expose it.

It is so unbelievable how difficult it may be to listen to these sermons. It is even more unbelievable how much you can grow in following god. I was so lost as not to know how to grow a relationship with god as much i yearned for it. I would read a verse and was so lost as to what it meant and wha to do with it. I am so flawed and unperfect and lost at times. But my feet are pointed to god and im growing into a person that god knows i can be. Having someone to believe in me and guide me is helping me learn what is my Work and what is gods.

I am glad Eve ate the fruit and gave it to Adam because the truth is eventually Adam would have eaten it and then all this suffering would be our fault. Not absolving women of their accountability because they certainly have more than they are aware of, but Eve took the brunt of the curse.
58:18ish. Don't know how he can say this and totally ignore his own chemistry example when it has been shown that chemical depression is exactly that. Caused by chemical, genetic, physical issues in the brain. The "untreatable", or "treatment-resistant" strains of this condition. Never going to "think" your way out of these any more than you can think your way out of schizophrenia and many other mental illnesses with documented physical, chemical causes.
Worthwhile for folks who are normally NOT depressed who are going through a "rough patch" that is temporary, but for folks depressed with NO documented external cause, reason or trigger...ehh not so much.
Platitudes, posters and prayers won't make a dent in this, so make certain you very well KNOW which type you are dealing with because it is more dangerous than most realize to do so!

# Winning with the hand that you're dealt with

## Introduction
**Psalms 139:14** -- God made you wonderfully complex.
**Ecclesiastes **7:18**** --
+ You're not going to be judged by God for not using the resources you don't have.
+ We don't have same problems, resources or anything. The only thing that is common is that God loves us all.
+ **In poker, you play only that cards that you're dealt with. The same things applies to life.**
+ You have to play the hand you're dealt. Keep in mind that these cards are not perfect.
+ One day God is going to ask you how you played the hand that you were dealt.
+ The good news is that Bible tells you how to win the game with your hand.
## Factors that influence your identity
1. **Chemistry**
+ Your hormones, chromosomes etc.
+ These create emotional, physical problems.
+ Not only bad, these hormones are essential for living a happy life. Eg: Oxytocin.
+ No flaw in this category is sinful. There is nothing to be ashamed of here.
+ **Galatians **4:13**** - Paul went to Galatia because of illness.
+ What's in your control?
- You can choose to be healthier.
- Psalms 119:73 -- Learn about your body.
- The pain is in your brain.
2. **Relationships**
+ Connections give life a meaning, purpose and identity.
+ Life is all about relationships.
+ What's in your control?
- Choose to deepen good relationships and break bad ones.
- **The fear of rejection prevents connection.**
- Feeling awkward won't kill you. Move against the awkwardness and build relationships.
- **1 John **4:18**** -- There is no fear in LOVE.
- **Fear goes away with ACTION.**
- Know that fear is always worse than the reality. So work towards throwing it away.
- **Ephesians **3:17**** -- Pray that you'll be strong in love and be built with love.
3. **Circumstances**
+ This is another factor that you have no control over.
+ You are the product of traumas, troubles, suffering, shame, problems, pressures and pain in your life.
+ **What's in your control?**
- Choose to trust in God regardless.
- **Romans **8:27**-29** -- God knows you far better than you know yourself. Trust him.
- **Psalms 34:1** -- Praise the Lord no matter what happens.
- **You are a product of your past. Not a prisoner of it.**
4. **Consciousness**
+ How you talk to yourself.
+ **Proverbs 23:7**
+ **Proverbs **4:23**** -- Your thoughts run your life.
+ Know that **feelings aren't facts**.
+ **Philippians **4:18**** -- Fix your thoughts on what is true and honorable.
5. **Choices**
+ These are in your control and these control major portion of your life.
+ Freewill is a great blessing and a great curse.
+ God says that this is a **wild card**.
+ Your destiny and eternity is based on this card.
+ **You can choose Jesus as your savior.**
