Everyone wanted that dress, too, but Solar said it was created on her, so she had to be cut out of it, destroying it, essentially.
As a group and as soloists, Mamamoo set the bar realllllyyyy high...popularity is many groups main game....however Mamamoo field is arts....they serve arts on all levels...authentic arts
Fun Fact: Hwasa actually wanted to name the song "I'm a Bitch" implying she would have to be a cold-hearted savage to get through the circumstances but I think they decided it was too frank so they changed it to "I'm a bich" which sounds similar but basically translates into I am light.
I heard they made her change it because no TV show would promote her song otherwise.
AleXa made the same wordplay in her song "Villain", and made a translation note saying "I'm a light" in that sense (illumination, not feather 'light') is saying "I'm a hero". So it's an interesting juxtaposition.
Also BP Jennie was "Shining solo".
Korean TV is a bit strict on curse words, so using bich is a way to be naughty and get away with it 😁.

I still don’t understand how Hwasa’s “I’m a B” didn’t blow up like Twit and Maria because it’s such a banger. Such beautiful artistry and Hwasa continues to prove how complete of an artist she is with her full involvement in each of her solo projects. So happy for your Mamamoo journey.
It's because RB did not promote Guilty Pleasure, almost at all.
You can see how a small little bit of promotion got Solar really good sales and GP's attention, with a little bit of promo (in RB official account picture, variety shows guestings, and actual media showcase) had I'm a B out and it was big in SKorea as well, but without ANY promo at all for 6equence (except for Byul's efforts alone), almost no one know about Lunatic except for those that watched MuShows. 🙃

Fun fact, Solar's solo album FACE (where Honey was the title track) is based on the Hanja for her name (容). The giant plaster face is actually made from a mold of Solar's face! Gotta love her ideas and concepts. (They're all concept queens though. Moonbyul's 6equence is an entire story/movie if you listen to them in order. Her album was even designed with movie/film in mind. Even the box resembles the metal tins you would keep film inside.)
I also love how extreme Solar's concepts are, like how her first solo album had her bald, and her next solo album had Solar in 6m hair. 🤣

You have to see Wheein's "Trash" performance video. She is so perfect.
In honey, The white mask in the beginning, when she splits it in two, making a V shape, references the Korean beauty Standard in which a V shape face is the most beautiful feature, yet hers isn't, hence why she asks " am I attractive?" And then says that of course she is. This is, in a way, some social critique towards the Korean standards of beauty
We see many different colors being used , reflecting different aspects/sides of her personality, I could be wrong but, what I get from this is, that it's her way of saying " hey I'm not only a belting vocalist" " I'm not this one facet idol you think I am ".
Yellow being her youthful/playful side.
Red being her seductive side.
Green being her "grounded" down to earth side.
Pink representing the "Glamorous" performer side ( with the sparkles and all )
The News Paper thing could be either the "modelesque" side, but I would lean more it being a representation of her fierce side, the no-half-assing things side of her, it's either black or white and the way her hair is cropped with the red lipstick being the only color accent, enforced that strict/fierce image.
The All white being the representation of the perception people have from her. This is later enforced when she starts breaking the stuff and thus "revealing" her "true colors" (paint coming out )
The red crop t-shirt line references her solo debut Spit it out. Rap part literally Solar featuring herself on her own song vibes. That Winnie the Pooh reference with the "My friend Piglet" line , chef's kiss 🤣
So basically this song and MV is Solar saying " yeah I'm all that which you think of me, but I am also so much more than that"
This is what I got too. To add to it,the newspaper scene are also how the media perceives her and how they scrutinize her I think is referenced with the torn photo from spit it out.
The red cropped top was still Winnie the pooh as her crop top in spit it out was orange but she could also just refer to the crop tops itself.
I love how you can't take Solar's songs and videos at face value. There are always layers upon layers of symbols and meaning.
Mamamoo is underappreciated when it comes to dancing. Wheein is one of my favourite dancers in k-pop. She makes everything looks so easy and simple.

They covered and performed each other's solos during their Seoul Concert My Con and they all slayed it! Non fans wouldn't even be able to recognise that it wasn't their songs but each others

I am the same way. Most videos I watch in order of how they appear in my feed. But when I see a notification that Kess and Han reacted to stuff I already like, I move them to the front of the line and immediately watch their video, no questions. These two are great.
Solar released Honey as part of a mini album. Then she did a mini concert live performance MV of all the songs on the album. :) She also did a really cool interview around that time. Where she answers the questions separately as herself and as her stage persona.

I'm a B is an amazing wordplay between Bich (korean for light) and Bitch. In Watercolor are references to twit (walking on the table beeing ignored), Spit it out (the purple gloves) and eclipse (cap with braids). The huge face and the mask in honey are Solars actual face.
There is a part change video on Solarsido where she and Moonbyul sing each others solos and parts in some Mamamoo songs. Mamamoo also just covered their solos on their concerts. Hwasa is Ahn Hyejin's stage name and also her personality, as she is a lion on stage but really a pussycat off stage. It was amusing watching her practice "I'm a Bitch" while wearing a sweatshirt with a kitten on it. She herself has said she isn't as strong as she pretends to be, and Solar described her as a glass bottle, hard on the outside but soft on the inside. That's not to say she isn't still a savage, though. She's the only one I've seen give Jessi a hard time.
I love how Jessi treats Hwasa and Solar as her baby sisters and how both of them love to tease Jessi whenever they are together. 🤣🤣

Watercolor is probably my favorite of Wheein’s solos. Honey- Solar once again just being Solar and testing or even breaking boundaries, just like the did with Spit It Out. Also, the Korean used for Face in the album is also pronounced Yong; so she is making a play on her own name but using a different spelling. The spelling of Yong used in her name is the same used in Dragon. Hwasa, well she just can’t be contained either.. this independent Lion of a Makane.

These MVs are amazing, they're so talented, they deserve so much recognition ! I love the concepts and the makeup in Solar's video, love the bad B attitude and the confidence of Hwasa and also the traditional part is incredible, and I love the styling in Wheein's video and of course all of their dancing and singing are so good !
Also, for a next video I recommend you LMM by Hwasa. It's a beautifuf song and it really showcase her vocals.

my favorite solos for each. It really doesnt matter if it is 1 mamamoo member, 2 or all of them, they are always the best of the best. There is an English version of water color. Solar is my bias so Honey is my favorite here. Check out this My Con concert footage coming out the last couple weeks. Hwasa does Eclipse, Wheein does Honey, Solar does Water Color and Moonbyul does Twit, plus the group does Maria, Spit it out, Make me happy and Lunatic.
