If you're in Oz, you could probably get one, because the consumer laws in Australia are much more stringent than in the U. S.. You may or may not re-call that two Aussies took Steam to court regarding performance issues with games -- as they related to specified game hardware requirements versus actual performance -- and won; resulting in Steam having to re-write its refund policies... An associate notification pop-up was then spammed (for some months) every times Steam launched. That is, today, if you're an Aussie Steam user, and a game does not function as prescribed, you can still get a refund; irrespective of play or the time elapsed since purchase. That is to say, MK1 runs like garbage; its online functionality barely warrants the aforementioned noun; and even its bloated file size (200GB and growing) is belied by the purported system requirements (to this day it still reads, "140GB") -- more than enough grounds to qualify for a re-fund. _>use your consumer rights, or else you send the message that you are willingly relinquishing them_

The brands is still salvageable... It's just that under the thumb of WB and in the fumbling, simian paws of NRS, it will only ever be a pale, pathetic, mortifying shadow of its former self.
For the fighting game genre, 2-D / 2.5-D is the only way to go. There are not a single 3-D F/G game engine that does the genre justice. I'd argue that Soul Calibur, in it's prime (SCIV and prior) was as close to "honest" 3-D F/G gameplay as there as been, and that was only due to the series' once robust defensive (repel/parry) systems. Tekken, Virtual Fighter etc. are game engines developed in the 90s which were never considered top tier competitive foundations for the genre; and have simply been recycled since. Until stuff like attack tracking, errant collision detection, lethargic 3-D movement et al. can be sorted out, 3-D fighters will always be second to 2-D... Heck, most 3-D fighters are played 90% as if on a 2-D plane, anyway.
The ESG system is all about money, it ensures that the studios make the money without having to hit large sales numbers...so long as they sell-out their audience and feed you propaganda..this is why they feel so comfortable talking sh i to their player base
Goad Musk to open a game studio, to buy the MK license, then take it from there. Otherwise, there is no way that the cultural subversion will stop -- video gaming is just too big an industry for the Marxists to just let slide. In fact, and not unlike with the S ꞇ ꭤ ꭑ ꓒ ꬲ ꭑ וֹ ꞇ cover-up and the wars and "alyums" psy-ops that have ensured since, they will go full "Samson Option" -- pulling the whole house down onto itself -- before they allow it (gaming) to simply exist outside of their cultural dystopia.
For someone who was playing these games in the early 90s (SF being the first), by my estimations, SF6 is woeful... I'd actually put Tekken 8 well above it, in terms of gameplay and presentation, and even despite T8 being a large step backward from T7 (the best in the series next to Tag, IMO). The thing is, like the adage about "wisdom being nine-tenths about being wise on time", SF6 contemporaries are just so underwhelming, that it makes said game the default choice; if for nothing else, than its more serviceable online functionality, and the overall build quality of the product. I mean, even the 200GB file size of MK1 precludes me from ever installing it... It's like wasting a massive chunk of disk space for something that, on merit, does not even warrant 20GB! Add to that the abysmal gameplay; the insulting re-racialisation of fan favourite characters; the "watch it on TH-cam and forget" story mode; and the recycle bin "Invasions" dross; and there is as close to no reason to install the game as there has ever been for in iteration in this franchise. That's all to say nothing of the "games as a service" aspect of this shovelware -- where DLC remains locked if the game does not connect to the server (may change with a "GOTY" version -- TBC), and local player-2 cannot use unlocked content -- alone, something any self-respecting consumer would not only boycott; but, may even report to consumer authorities, for anti-consumer practices! MK1 is the veritable Concord of this generation's fighting games 🚮
It's a real shame, as the 'Street Fighter' franchise does have some very interesting fighters, but most of SF6's roster consists of 'new' characters who are just older fighters under a different coat of paint, and characters that originated in SFII.
@@ryanm.8720 The roster is one of the biggest shortcomings of the game... aside from the awful Drive Impact, "slime sliding", and jab, jab, jab centric gameplay, that is. The fact that they have already gone the guest char. route -- and with two of the most generic SNK stalwarts of all -- really speaks to who is calling the shots at Capcom nowadays. They should have, at least, filled out the 'Third Strike' roster before selling out... But, no. Heck, even Elena is a very odd choice, despite being in the aforementioned game. To be frank, if the third season of characters is not markedly better, I'll probably uninstall it for a year or so; as I only play it rarely, with friends, and when intoxicated... Cannot stomach it otherwise. It just doesn't justify the disk space for the meagre fun factor it offers. I'll probably move over to Tekken 8, if the new Fatal Fury ends up playing as cheesy as it looks... 😑
@ not the same. Lucas never said it will help or build the franchise. Disney was not prepared to buy it. Someone who knows fighting games should buy it.
Well, his moniker _is_ taken from the titular quarterback; with his avatar being Chris Evans... So, the allusions and/or any ensuing confusion, are deliberately curated.
Well know this for a long time now. But I hope that NRS learns from their mistakes because if not, then the same thing gonna happen with their next game.
I doubt ꓢסּꓒꝍꭑꝻꭤꝯ has much to do with how MK has been developed after MKX, when he kind of emerged on the scene. The allusions to his "persuasion" are kind of shallow, given that if he did have some genuine developmental input, NRS would promulgate the collaboration from the rooftops -- not only for the clout they'd [mistakenly] feel it could have with the e-sports sector; but, for the multiple "woke" boxes it would tick. Moreover, I do re-call him criticising MK11 for being boring and limiting player expression -- citing the one, obvious pratfall the game made, of disallow freedom of ability customisation, even in its "Kasual" game mode; as well as some less-than-stellar commentary on MK1... So, I see him as more of a scapegoat: A "furry" fairy who's conspicuously put himself out there for the click$, and obligatorily receives lay fans' ire as a result. I'd be blaming Stephie Bareback for the gameplay design and balance problems; Boon for the narrative direction and character design degradation; that other, balding guy for the woeful ancillary game mode; and the obese fellow for promoting the faecal package as if it were caviar and truffles.
