I was actually very surprised by the lack of amount of combo strings in MK1. Scorpion has like 2 with his punches... oh, and get rid of the stupid ass low pokes. but but... it's 6 frames. gtfo. An interesting mechanic would be a stamina mechanic or something, so if you duck alot it takes away stamina which will slow down your strikes. @@zoltanz288 Unstable as MUGEN is, it's a great template asset on how to make a great 2D fighter if needed. Unpopular opinion. I would like each character to have the same inputs for strikes. memorizing and getting the muscle memory ingrained into your memory to play just 1 character is a chore. Give every character a 1, 1, 2... a 2,1,4.. change the animations a bit, but keep every string the same. some characters don't have a 2,1,4 at all. I'm just trying to think of a way to eliminate a fighting game that is completely based off of frame data.
that would make fighting games boring as hell. stop begging for handouts and get good. it takes the time it takes.
@@zoltanz288 Theres a difference between a skill issue, and annoying game mechanics. My opinions would actually raise the skill ceiling of the game, not being based off of frame data... but have fun spending hours in practice mode memorizing the button timing for the stiff ass combos in between your low poke and mix ups... get good kid... most pathetic excuse ever. F*ckin moron. It's gamers like you who accept "handouts". accept whatever NRS spoon feeds you eh? You're a disgrace.
@@zoltanz288 Theres actually several fighting games with higher skill ceilings than MK1 that have way less combo strings. But, you clearly don't understand my point. NRS could make the striking system simpler, but also greater depth. but, accept whatever handout the spoon feed you, ignorant idiot.
all you seem to do is cry about the game. We are not living in the 90s anymore times have changed
Yup. It’s very typical gen-x behavior.
MORTAL KOMBAT!
2d Kombat is definitely the best right. It fell off after ultimate 3 right.
UMK3 all day 🤘
If they add "block animations" it would be pretty sick!
What 2D engine would you use?! I vote MUGEN but what could beat and that it's free as well. I'm all for MK series being 2D, that's all I ever nor acknowledge as but what about newer fan base though. Everything highlighted is beyond true, trouble is that younger like instant gratification moves and flashy gimmicks as well?! And sadly the current developers are there to make money by adding all this new crap to keep with the times. The situation is damn tricky here regarding Kombat, you must keep one concept here old or new because you cannot keep without alienating the other sigh...
dont be silly mugen is way too unstable for an actual game release. it has to be a free game if its on mugen.
@@zoltanz288 Unstable as MUGEN is, it's a great template asset on how to make a great 2D fighter if needed. If a new engine is to be used, it will have to go a long long way to beat the MUGEN engine, it might not be perfect but I've playing around and have watched get better here and there since 2013 and the engine will have to justify the cost to compete a free engine that does an okay to great job as well....
MKX 💩 on those games.
mkx is just shit. all it shit on was itself.
I always agreed with anyone saying the 2D era of mk is the best , no side stepping and accidently jumping into death trips. 2d kombat ftw
I agree, but id like for each character to have their own animations for the attacks. You can make each characters combo button path the same, but id like them to have unique animations. Thats literally the only thing that the new era of MK has on the old games.
I agree with most of things this guy says but he's wrong about mk9. Mk9 was class
