  • Went to Buttonwillow with Speed Ventures on Dec 18th, and used it basically as a test and tune day for my new modifications (downpipe, spark plugs, coilovers). Learned a decent amount about the coils, mainly that I just set them up wrong (camber plates mainly). I didn't touch ride height or preload out of the box either, so I'm gonna be dropping the car, adjusting the camber plates properly and then getting another alignment. From there it will be a matter of trying out the settings and seeing what works. Best I did was a 2.10.5, about a second slower than my best, but as you can see from the fast lap, I had a couple errors and had a tiny bit of traffic through bus stop that slowed me down a little bit, so there's potential for sure.
Filmed on GoPro Hero 5 Black and Hero 8 Black using Rode Lavalier Go microphone

Nice driving regardless of the time this trip - I've had my fist for almost 8 years and this is pushing me to at least try to bring it out once this coming up year - thanks for sharing

Glad you enjoyed it! It's well worth bringing the car out at least once, it will definitely surprise you and others with what it's capable of. If stock though, just keep an eye on your temps. Hope to see ya out there someday!

On the same coilovers on my fiesta st I had mine corner weighted and setup professionally the front geometry is neg 2 degree camber and 0.2 degrees toe in. Getting the corner weighted setup transformed the way it drives the BC coilovers give so much more grip compared to stock

I gotta look into that, if you're comfortable sharing, how much did you pay for a corner balance and alignment? The shop that I got a quote from was like $650 for both things. I've also heard that toe out is actually sometimes preferred to make the car turn in better, did they say why they went with toe in?

@@DaleFredriksRacing in the UK here the setup was £300 I can't recommend it enough especially with how much adjustment the coilovers give it's very hard to get them setup correctly without the proper tools
