Hey man, how much did the car weigh? And what was your horsepower/torque numbers I’m trying to get an estimate for my 75 Nova, which will be 3200 pounds with 560 hp and 600 foot pound of torque

With the exhaust and oem type tank I'd say it was 3400 ish for this video. I now have two tanks. One for road trips and a 2 gallon for race fuel. The big tank needed 12-15 gallons to not slosh from the pickup when it launched. 70 or more lbs of fue is a decent amount. I've weighed my exhaust and dropped another 55 to go open header. That frees up power and weight. My old 3-inch flowmasters were costing me .4 seconds at the track. Since 2016 I've had at least a 6 pt moly cage. Now it's 8.5 cert. Pre cage less 65 lbs

@@bure4me yeah cool well thank you very much. My Nova has the stock 23 gallon tank it’s just gonna be a street rod/daily while I’m in high school so I do have to take an account the weight in gas as well.

I learned a ton after this. It had heavier springs in a mechanical advanced distributor. That was later worth nearly a tenth in the 60' when i went to the lighter springs, bringing the timing in sooner.. The flowmasters I had were worth another nearly 4 tenths.

I messed with the tuning for attitude during Rocky mtn raceweek and it hasn't been as fast since. before leaving in July heat (2500' DA) the car went 10.61 at 127. the old combo had the benefit of a 3.73 gear and now I run 3.25s in a 9".
