@alanhale6494 I have never talked to anyone about them. I've talked to the people at Molnar during PRI. I've run their stuff before in a 496. This engine is more max effort than the 496 so I stepped up the rod and this is my first longer rod on 4.25 stroke.

@jasonquartermile425 for the Havlik race I started at 300 and had some jets that would be 300-350. That's what I kept for drag week. They are not officially recognized by manufacturer's chart.

@@bure4me Thanks a lot man! I have a 240z with a 496 that's almost the exact same setup, I was thinking a 300 shot should get me 8s since I'm 3000lb w/o driver. Love the channel. Keep it old school!

@scottmcmullen7541 I got news news from Mahle last Friday. I'm probably doing a piece a week for a month then a discussion about it in a longer video.

@tr00llerz97 I'm hoping this short block is bullet proof for my goals. I thought about using a number of songs including the standing on business one. I'm a big Ssether guy and listen to Pandora in the garage. Godsmack is in that rotation.

@1972novabill just installed strange s5063 dbl adj up front. 3 way CE in the rear, Calvert split mono 2" drop, 1/4 turn of preload. Inhave Calvert 9 way for rear but they are soft on street when I'm loaded down for draf and drive. CE are set to 50-50 and ride much better

@Johnson-uy9xq 3.50 gears 255x60x15 is listed as 27" tall. 18 lbs of pressure so 26 and change for height most likely

@@BBFOX514 that's why I do it, simple. It takes more power than you think if the car is heavy or the tire size doesn't allow full power at launch.

@@bure4me How reliable are the motors? I hear the big HP nitrous motors can be rough on valvetrain. Any disadvantages that you know of?

@BBFOX514 depends on power level. I'm showing over 900 hp by mph and weight. I just run a hydraulic roller under .670 lift. It will crack the 8s but I'll need a parachute to turn in a 150 mph pass. Better chassis might hit 8s without cracking 150. If you want to run 7s at 3500-3600 lb that's a different deal than I'm working with. I do have plans to increase power and probably hit 160 mph on a 255x60 or maybe a 275x60 drag radial at nearly 3600 lbs.

Hydraulic roller goes to 7k on the big end with 300 jets @ 148 mph. 3.50 rear gear and 255x60x15 tire.

Same, the old heavy duty ones from the 90s would last a couple years then heat soak starting issues became more frequent. This engine has a lot of compression and makes some heat.

@lucaswallace9885 we made a good lick. Not a best but right there. On the road already

@infamousnova surprisingly that was the easy part to get. It moves the mounting point close to a 1/2 inch lower. That takes some extension away and this shock was already a little shorter than the CE 3 ways I took off. I've had them in a box for a couple years. This was kind of a rush job for drag week. I probably should have waited.

@stephenmitchell3569 for the longest time it's been about low maintenance and reliability. My cam has been installed since 2018. It has a ton of the drag and drive events under it's belt, inclusive 2019 when I drove from STL to 800 miles to the track in Pueblo Co. We did the 1200 mile event and drove home in an 10 day span. I need to run an 8 now because it's expensive to stay nhra compliant.

@7080nik the bits have been working their magic. Biggest concern is how hogged I had to go. 1st one is always the one you learn on.

@thegreenerthemeaner my current intake was done by well regarded local guy. I was hoping to see something similar on my current build thar would have pushed it to 800 hp on the dyno. That didn't happen.
