I have tried everything from doing like 3 sets of attemps, Then 3 sets hspu, 4 sets elevated pike pushups, tuck planche pushups and Finish workout with dips But 4 months later still stuck at 2 reps hspu. Now doing Dominic sky workout doing 10 sets of attemsp Then 10 sets negatives no improvements after 2 weeks But imma keep consistant and see if i progress. Got any tips or smt to do?

    • @ziyitan8996
      @ziyitan8996 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@deedd1440 Yeah I'm going to tell you what helped me get a lot of reps in. It's called Grease The Groove, from the book The Naked Warrior.
      What you'll do is every day, around once per hour, just do one perfect form HSPU. ONE perfect form HSPU (half of your max) every hour when you can.
      Theory behind this is that strength is a skill. And to perfect a skill, you have to practice it frequently, like playing the piano or violin. Do this for a few weeks and you should already see quite big improvements. Hope this helps!

    Pike push up with feet on walls, hands on two chairs so the head can dip between. Then over time, focus on keeping straight legs on the wall.
    This will let you work on hypertrophy better because going to failure wont be dangerous.

    Thanks for the video! The HSPU has always been an impossible for me. I can do pike pushups, I can also do them with the feet elevated on a box, but nothing more. I couldn't ever go further. I can only experimenting with some wall HSPU negatives, but I think the gap between the box pike pushups and the wall HSPU is too big for me. I try to find a solution.

    • @SimonsterStrength
      @SimonsterStrength  3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Ensuring good technique with elevated pike push-ups is very important. Often people pull with their feet to reduce the challenge. Pointing the toes can help prevent this.
      You can also progress to partial wall HSPU reps in the interim.

      How's it going so far? it's late but you could try weighted presses like weighted pike or divebomber push ups and also dips - these will increase your overall pushing strength. Another way of increasing reps fast is Greasing The Groove so do multiple sets of 1-2 through the day and your numbers should go up

      1. There are many good HSPU tutorials out there. Not every video has to be “better” or innovative.
      2. I have a program that I mention at the end of this video covering every little detail about the handstand push-up. It includes a technical breakdown of each body segment (shoulder blades, head position, elbow position, etc), when and why to increase the range of motion of exercises, how to address the balance component compared with the strength component, suggested sets and reps, rest periods, further exercises including weight training options, and more. As this program is behind a pay wall, it’s important that I provide more value there and don’t divulge everything on TH-cam.
      3. Please think twice before making negative comments on people videos in the future. Creators are also human and this comment struck me as rude and unnecessary.

      @mrnaizguy This is an excellent tutorial. As @Simonster Strength said there are other great tutorials available for everyone, and sometimes it just comes down to people putting the work in on the relevant exercises for months or years (sth negative commenters are usually unwilling to do) rather than always looking for some new, magic technique to add to your training.
