LMAO! Even just looking at "highlights" and skipping forward is no short amount of time... Astonishing achievement here guys, you've done a spectacular thing that truly puts the previous 60 years of launch tracking to shame! Footage like this turns the children of today into the engineers and astronauts of the future. It's not possible to overstate how important your brilliant work is. Edit: Oh, and that music is wonderful too.
Ryan, Mary Liz and co., that has blown me away. I can't find the right words. Just wow! I was moved to tears. Thanks so much for your passion and dedication!
Some of my favorite moments: 3:40 - clearing the chopsticks 24:30 - a bajillion shockwaves passing through the transonic contrail 33:50 - looks like a gas burner 46:19 - MECO 47:50 - hot staging 49:10 - boost back startup (the startup pattern!!!) 1:02:50 - boost back shutdown vent 1:47:40 - hot booster punching through a cloud 1:49:10 - transonic shockwaves 1:53:04 - chine damage 1:54:50 - landing burn 2:01:10 - chopsticks contact
As usual, the best footage out there, I'm kinda surprised SpaceX doesn't reach out to you in order to use these in their promotional videos. Work of art.
This is easily one of the most breathtaking videos I've ever seen. These shots are jaw-dropping. It was honestly moving in a way I hadn't expected. Just look at what we are capable of as a species. Truly amazing. SpaceX, please never give up on this. This program is really something special. It's more than just a rocket to many of us. This machine is a piece of art and a symbol of humanity's strength. This is giving a lot of people hope for the future during a moment in time when hope feels lost. I want to see my species thrive, and this feels like the best chance. Thank you, and congratulations, you fantastic maniacs. Thank you so much for capturing this footage. The music was beautiful, I rewatched that glide down and landing burn 4 times. Absolute perfection.
All future generations shall thank you for this absolute masterpiece Documenting spaceflight is really important for inspiring the next generation, and absolutely no one does it better than you all and Everyday Astronaut!
Imagine showing this to someone from 2011 just after the last shuttle flight. How incredible it would be to know a rocket more powerful than the Saturn V is only 12 years away from launching.
The most moving visuals accompanied by my favourite song svefn-g-englar (sleepwalk angels) by sigur rós. I spent 2 hours mind blown but when you used that as the landing song i cried. Thank you for this incredible peice of art. I can see myself watching this daily forever. ❤❤❤❤❤
Every time I see something is available from Cosmic Perspective, I drop everything else to watch it. It's always the best out there. I've been hoping for this video to be released. Thank you Cosmic Perspective. By the way, I met you briefly when I inadvertently wandered into a restricted area where the cameras were the day before the first Starship launch. I was that old guy with too much hair. I hope that before I was escorted away, you got that I think the work you do is amazingly outstanding. I wish Everyday wouldn't have been so skittish.
Wow! Beautiful, mesmerizing. Lots of detail because of frame rate and clear skies. Interesting patterns in exhaust plume. Shock waves in thruster plume. Red-hot tail on reentry! I think this video will be well-studied. Thanks Cosmic Perspective!
Thank you so much for putting so much time and effort into figuring out all the tech needed to create these mesmerising and stunning shots!! And for putting it out here with such a nice soundtrack and in full length!! DANKE
WOW Ryan!! WOW WOW *incredible* footage!!!! SO many dynamic events there, and you NAILED the focus and tracking from start to stop - championship work!!!! I bet the SpaceX engineers are loving this. Really stunning all the way through - shock waves (?) in the clouds at ignition, rocket plumes, mach diamonds, breathtaking exhaust and gas patterns, interstage falling past, burning hot in the engine bay near landing, fantastic!! It's a new era of spaceflight.
I've never seen such a defined and beautifull rocket plume footage in my entire journey. This footage shows the individual mach diamonds and colours like any other starship launch/photographer. Thanks for making it available.
As well as being an immeasurably beautiful piece of art, the detail actually provides technical information - there are clearly flames around the booster’s Raptors on return, not just glow of atmospheric heating.
there is something so damn satisfying seeing high speed capture of flames that is full colour and high resolution. You can only see these turbulence only in simulations usually, not anymore. I am excited what firefly et al. can do to the high speed, high resolution cinema grade camera technology in the coming years.
Wow, amazing thank you for such a great video. It’s so amazing in capturing the shockwaves and all those raptor engines displacing all that energy, including all of the energy needed to steer the booster back to the launch tower. It’s amazing. The background music was also amazing. You guys did an amazing jobs getting the necessary equipment and placement with great tracking. WOW, I am sure someone from Space X will watch this video and get much valuable information.
One of the most arresting and borderline spiritual first 2 minutes of a TH-cam video I've ever watched. The sublime music and imagery combine for an IMAX worthy experience that lingers on a scene with the feeling I'm watching the rocket launch at the end of Gattaca with music by Vangelis set in the world of Dune. Inspiring work and a brilliant single shot.
Without a doubt, that was the best rocket tracking footage in history. Well done! Apart from your skill in tracking it, I was blown away by the speed of the exhaust gases, even though it was being shown in slow-motion. To land a rocket that size on two rails of a tower is almost beyond belief but I was also blown away by the sheer fact that the engine bay didn't destroy itself with the heat and pressure of re-entry, which your footage captures so well. Just stunning!!!
@@CosmicPerspective That was a work of science and art. I don’t normally pay for individual videos, but this one knocked it out of the stratosphere for me.
Mesmerizing ! Maryliz, Ryan and you all guys are amazing in your dedication to providing such immensely important testimonial. Huge thanks and congratulations ! You’re the best, we love you !
Nothing short of amazing to be sure !!!😲 Really hope they do this again on the next launch. Few crucial things I would’ve loved to seen that went out of screen in a few places. Just absolute artwork though. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This the most amazing video I have ever seen! I thought you guys were awesome live! Now…you’ve given us the “keys to the kingdom!” Is there a way I can make this my screen saver so every time it clicks you get a view?!!???
Awesome visual production, i always appreciate the effort put into the production of your exact visual representations of history . They are both visual and historical representations of the struggle and the triumph of space innovation . I look forward to your visual postings of the Starship progress and innovation , but i feel not enough is being talked about the actual cost to Spacex for producing and launching the Starship . Maybe perhaps as a mini docu you can include the cost of building a Space way of life.
Incredible as always. Spectacular moments matching with music with perfect timing. I would love another version of this clip with time stamps of every audio comment with explanations of propellant purges or other gases during the flight. Not always exactly known for basic observer whats going on, when there is some gas purging out (and which one) or some anomaly, etc.
This is without any doubts the most phylosofical, most physical, most musical, most religious video that was ever crested by humans,....best video on TH-cam now ....and yes my family propably think that i have starting dementia, because i cried two hours on coutsch without any world...at the end i come to conclusion, that this was upload to TH-cam from another planetary system, it is so good ,that this can not be made by people
how the hell did you guys do this??? this is insanity! the shots... OH MY GOD! soo good! please! keep up the good work! I can't wait for The third Episode of The Road to Mars!
"Every frame a painting", I thought starting from around 20:00. I had this open on my second monitor and was going to do some reading, but I didn't read very much. Everything was just so fascinating. Absolutely beautiful. A bit sad about losing the tracking near the end, but amazing job done.
oh yeah, its also only the most massive man-made object to ever fly by a factor of 2 (5000 tons), surpassing the previous record holder of almost 60 years, the Saturn V Moon Rocket (2800 tons)! Just the booster alone is as long as a 747! I think the sheer scale of this machine gets lost in the beautiful images and its incredible capabilities.
I wish there was a way to give out badges for watching all the way to catch at 1x without skipping 😂🤔
Do I get a second badge for watching it a second time? I was thinking of having this play in the background.
@@captaindaedalus1 That would give me 2 badges and counting! 😉

The first 3 minutes alone should be given an Academy Award for something.
Maybe an Emmy? YT counts as TV right?
Ryan, Mary Liz and co., that has blown me away. I can't find the right words. Just wow! I was moved to tears. Thanks so much for your passion and dedication!
Oh wow that's extremely generous! Massive thank you!! MaryLiz, myself the whole team really appreciate the words and support. Means a lot thank you
The amount of skill, effort and time to get these shots is mind-boggling. Absolutely incredible.
woah never expected to see you here are you a big fan of starship?
The camera gear must be something from out of this world (no pun intended)
An absolutely out of this world presentation!
Thanks Lab!
Some of my favorite moments:
3:40 - clearing the chopsticks
24:30 - a bajillion shockwaves passing through the transonic contrail
33:50 - looks like a gas burner
46:19 - MECO
47:50 - hot staging
49:10 - boost back startup (the startup pattern!!!)
1:02:50 - boost back shutdown vent
1:47:40 - hot booster punching through a cloud
1:49:10 - transonic shockwaves
1:53:04 - chine damage
1:54:50 - landing burn
2:01:10 - chopsticks contact
1:48:23 that one flame that keeps dancing in the bell of the engine at the 12 o'clock position
Most stunning video footage captured in the history of humanity!
The chine cover flapping and peeling away like it was paper is amazing
the hero we need but don't deserve
Anyone else recognize the Sigur ros music?
Has to be the most spectacular footage of a launch ever captured. Mesmerised and beyond. Per adua ad astra
That beginning shot looked like something out of the Oppenheimer movie, insane visuals and beautiful background music!
My initial thought was "how is anyone going to watch this 2 hour video". This for sure shut me up. What a masterpiece, thank you!
all watched some, some watched all
🙌I thought the same thing !!! .... Yet here i am ... Stuck mesmerized 😳🚀😳
Me too!! Remarkable at all speeds
There's no way SpaceX doesn't use Ryan's videos for launch analysis aswell😮💨
The file size must be insane. Well done.
Credit where it's due. (So, ext4 or APFS or NTFS or something, but definitely not FAT32 😊)
This is going to serve as the BEST 2hr ambient screen saver on a big screen tv 🙌

1:56:16 is spectacular too! Like space minnows eluding the predatory flame.

I am watching this through wet eyes. Blown away by these things that no one has ever seen before. 15 million pound thrust flame angels! Rise!

Wow Ryan. This is fantastic you nailed it. This is hands down the best footage of this flight.
