sax quest in st Louis is the coolest store I have ever been to, they have a whole museum of vintage sax's and with an employ you can play some of them!
@@professorpythongaming9189 I've played my 52nd St. Eastman alto pretty much every day for 2-1/2 years and it is still holding up. It has required only routine maintenance by my repairman - the same as any other brand I've owned.
I've just bought one of these tenors, and I'm blown away by the sound. It's the best tenor I've ever played and is definitely flattering me! Huge sound when needed, but rich and dark. Get one!
I have one of these tenors, and it is a great instrument if you are looking for one. Obviously some of the sound comes from the person and the mouthpiece ligature combo, but it is easy to play and get that jazzy sax sound out of this instrument.
I tried the tenor in a shop and was amazed how easy it is to play. Even the low notes can be had softly, which isn't possible on all horns. I compared it to several other tenors and liked it best.
still waiting for your Chicago-land flag ship store! since WWBW closed their shop down a couple years ago in northern Indiana, there really is no huge store for players to try stuff out.
I know that Bob Mintzer is one of the reasons why the 52nd St tenor has become such a success among pro saxophonists. The sound/tone of the 52nd St SOPRANO is the one that enchanted me in your presentation, Jim. Perhaps it has to do with YOU playing it (even though it is said that your main horn is an alto). In any case: I would go for the soprano. Period. Thank you for the video. BTW sax.uk rules.
I'm looking into to purchasing the Eastman 52nd street alto sax, like the one in the video, and I'm having trouble finding a site or store that carries this alto sax, and I live in PA so I don't want to travel the world to get one
Hi Jim. Thanks for this review! You sound fantastic on this horn. I'm a french jazz saxophonist and have been playing jazz for about 25 years. I'm currently trying to sell my KING Super 20 Full Pearl tenor sax and I'm wondering if this 52nd Street ts could be a good sax for me!? I must say that I've had some good feedback so far except that the horn might be a bit too heavy!? Btw did you blow the one with the F# key in this video?
Hello guys! I am looking at a 52nd Street Bari sax, do you think that would also fit these characteristics that you mentioned in this video? Or should I keep looking for yamahas? I want an unlaquered bari :)
You still have a standing invitation to come open up in the U.S, you know.
benji coleman they really need to
benji coleman oh my god yes
sax.co.com ?
I wish there was a shop in the U.S. with such a big selection
There are several like Saxquest, Roberto's winds, and Sam Ash. Also, there is always the NAMM show every January.

I just got the 52nd Street sop last week from these guys. lovely free blowing horn with a great tone. Awesome shop too.
Thanks Nick, I'm glad you're enjoying the new Eastman. We absolutely love these saxophones!
I've got the 52nd street alto and it's fantastic! Plays like a dream
is it going to hold up for a while

I want a Eastman Bari sax. I bet it would play like a dream 😍

I part-exchanged a Conn 30 M for it, and it's every bit as good... better!
Very nice but I give 80% of the credit to the player Jim :-) I love your tone so much.

Who gave those thumbs down? It is an excellent presentation.

Eastman appears to be the best of the Chinese horns! I've never been a Cannonball fan, and that hasn't changed!
What a beautiful tone, I'd love to hear you on a more open mouthpiece though. best wishes
please open in the us i dont care where i will fly out just to buy from you
I can't wait to purchase this sax
I played it once and I love it so much
PLEASE open a shop up north!

Saludos desde Ecuador, podrían realizar un vídeo sobre el saxofón Andreas eastman 240...????
still waiting for that Theo Wanne alto mouthpiece video!!!
We had a couple of issues with audio quality but it's almost fixed. Sorry about the wait!
Up online now!
thanks so much!
Sax .co.uk I know that I'm a little bit late but what about the 52nd Street Bari Sax?
John Anthony there isn’t one I don’t think I have the alto one and it’s so good
Are these toneholes drawn from the body of the sax as on P.Mauriat and Cadeson 902 or soldered on as on the Keilwerth sx90r and System 54?
Qual pais de origem do sax tenor Eastman

Benny Mash you can order it off their website
I have one and love it. Not sure if I would sell it or not. I'm in NY State. I don't know, it's a great horn, but I just don't play much anymore.

I have a YBS 62 and love it! Not to say that the Eastmans are bad.
Where is the store?
Hey Jim - why no Amati saxes mate? ? ?
My 1963 Amati is a good horn. but this here is far from good-it‘s outstanding!
@@nikolaibaas2776 Amati are still making horns - seen / heard their Bravour?
Real rolled tones holes or soldered?
how much does the tenor weigh?
Noice
II liked the tenor and alto, but the soprano was not to my taste.
