  • Can these custom designed and 3D printed beadlock wheels I designed for my 1/10 scale Axial based RC crawler beat the creek? A couple weeks ago I decide to find out. I put these custom wheels to the test and although they held up pretty well, it was clear some improvements were going to need to be made.

You inspired me to design my own bead locks aswell. Those are sweet! Thanks for sharing.

Keying the inserts like that is a great idea, I'll use that for my future designs 😃
I have a set of 3s printed beadlock wheels that I've used for more than six years and many miles, they work great and haven't let go of the tires once, I made them with a lip on the insert that forces the tire down on the rim when the rims a screwed together. Printed in petg and each wheel is weighed to about 60-80g per wheel

I like the design on the in hub portion of the wheel interlocking somewhat with the inner ring I’m sure that will eliminate any bead slippage.

Hey @MakeItRC, I think I might have came up with a way for you to run metal leaf springs on the Trans Am build by using the "Mainspring" from a wrist/pocket watch as the leaf spring. It should work in theory as the mainspring is, is just a really thin metal ribbon made of spring steel. The idea came to me last night while watching a watch restoration last night.
The new rims look awesome on it. 👍👍

I'm borrowing this when I put my Western Star together. These will hold more load, better, with less fatigue than printed leaves. Especially as I have to make a stack of them.

Don't put weights on your wheels rolling weights is bad put the weight on your axles

Maybe consider buying a *MiniWare **_ES15 Electrical Screwdriver_* for ease of maintenance? 🤔
The amount of Screws you have had to thread in and out in this project is atrocious to do by hand 🤣
The ES15 is strong enough to even be used as a precision Drill ( using 4mm HEX Drill-Bits ) up to 3mm in Diameter.
