This video is definitely for noobs to 2K, but I like the step by step instruction style. I would recommend people just use the right stick to perform the post spin move, but I play in the park and not against computer players so maybe there's a benefit there.
Great tips! I was pretty good in the post last year but because they changed the controls I've been struggling a bit in 2K16, so I'll jump into some practice and try the moves you showed here.

I have a bigman and I wish I would have watched this a week ago. LOL I just figured out a few things you have taught in this tutorial. But for you guys out there, THIS IS A TOP NOTCH TUTURIAL!! A++ Hitting SUB right now!! Unfortunately, being a bigman in the MyPark it is tougher to complete these moves without getting ripped so easy.
simple move be but great. I never can spin an I use LaMarcus Aldrich. do you know if the shot meter is really used or is the shot off statistic?? I miss a lot of shot right on the white line an perfect releases.
+papichulo Webb (Chulo) Ignore all shot feedback i say. As long as is close to the middle of bar and you are taking a good shot with a good player is his hot spots you have done your job. Don't overthink the result of a single shot, whether ask yourself how many great shots do i take per game. If you run an offence that can generate tons of great shots you will win more than you lose ^^ Long answer haha but thats how i keep my cool without breaking 2k in half for making me miss open shots i worked so hard for lolol

Great video once again fam! Do you think you can show how to defend against bigs like Gasol and Zbo? They always seem to find open shots through screens and it's hard to stop them when they catch and shoot once they get separation!
I know I asked a question earlier I but I seem to still be having trouble with this move. Do I hold directly up on the LS or do I hold diagonal up to the outside of the post defender. And do I immediately press R2 after I release L2? I'm so confused. Everyone who does this online makes it look so easy smh.. So frustrating.

+Sam Pham NBA Tips and Tutorial 2K16 I actually finally figured out what my issue was in performing this spin. What seems to be working for me is, if you are posting up on the left side you have to kind of point the left stick up and to the left of the baseline before letting go of LT/L2 and holding RT/R2 and vice versa if posting up on the right side (hold up and to the right on the left stick before letting go of LT/L2 and holding RT/R2). This might be late, but this can definitely help a few people who are still struggling with this move, if there any people like this left lol. Thanks again.

This move is crazy Sam! But I just cant seem to get it down, I have been trying all day. Do you think the fact that I play on the broadcast stadium camera view and my controls are set to camera relative and not Absolute is preventing me from doing this move? I need your help Pham. I've got to get this move down and add it to my collection.
Is it me or does the drop step and the up and under feel really weak this year? I am having to resort to the pick&roll bigs like DeAndre and Drummond this year. P&R is stupid easy this year even without using the SamPham offense.

Another great review. I watch to just hear you say "family". Another thing man... On the majority of these double or even triple teams you had Gasol open for a 4ft on the block or a man with 15ft of clear space for the 3 instead. I thought that was a better option considering if you missed the layup then you have to battle 1 vs 3 for the board. Thoughts? 💭

+RenderRan Nation Some moves are super strong while some are completely useless. Needs a better balance maybe however is best in years since there isn't any easy do do unstoppable moves. Yes i know haha i am amazed to be honest ... Thanks for always being here to comment haha

My basketball life: Starting watching the Sprewell Marcus Camby Knicks when I was a kid. And then the Carter Raptors and been hooked ever since. I only started playing basketball when I turned 19 (always competitive soccer in high school). I am the PG of my rec team lol ? So not very organized ball experience, started too late ( I am really short, like 5ft6 haha so always soccer competitively and basketball as rec/ cross training) but I watch NBA 24/7 lol ...
I know this is 5 months too late and you probably already figured it out, but posting for the benefit of anyone else who was wondering the same thing: on PS4, swipe the touch pad from right to left.
If I hold L2 and push up on the left stick, my center NEVER starts to spin. He just keeps pushing the defense back. However if I release L2 and press R2, he still start to turn/spin.
That sounds like a better way of putting it yes ^_^ The timing is key, but once you practice enough and get the timing down yourself, this is close to unstoppable. Slower post players react differently to the timing too. AD will spin perfectly whenever he wants even if you input it messy lol

Great Video !! I couldn't figure out that you needed to hold all 3 buttons. I kept getting those weird animations.

How to perform a solid up&under this year? I hold L2, flick the stick back and forth but get a weak normal jumper after the pump fake. THX!

+oneiksor I use camera relative BUT yah i go 2k camera i don't think this can ever be consistent if you play broadcast :(

Why not just use the right stick 3/4 spin to initiate the post roll? For me that is much easier to do and requires less finesse on the left stick.

Wish this worked but all it does for me is when I spin out of the post it just gets me in an animation to where I can't get past him

If I hold L2 and push up on the left stick, my center NEVER starts to spin. He just keeps pushing the defense back. However if I release L2 and press R2, he still start to turn/spin.
That sounds like a better way of putting it yes ^_^ The timing is key, but once you practice enough and get the timing down yourself, this is close to unstoppable.
Slower post players react differently to the timing too. AD will spin perfectly whenever he wants even if you input it messy lol

bruh ps4 controls are so simple. R1 is the first trigger, R2 is the 2nd trigger same for the left.
Although I understand the buttons though
disengaging L2 is not a weird animation, its just the player going back to facing-up
I've gotten the post down but the hook drive is the only move I can't do.
