So how do ya clean outthe drain if leaves and dirt have ran down through the cowl vent and clogged it from inside ??? That lil bit of dirt wont stop the drain from draining but will cause the FENDER to rust out. 34 years in a body shop and i still cant get over people calling a fender a quarter panel. All the repair manuals and computer programs will send you to the rear body section if you type in or look up quarter panel. Ive got a 2005 ford f150 thats leaking water into the left front floor board and no one has a post covering it. I know the mustang had horrible drains on it both sides but ya have to remove the wipers and cowl vent to get to it. Was hoping to find someone with a short cut !! Great video and your right almost no one ever cleans out that area and we tend to make some good money repairing rusted out cowls and fenders down here. Pecan tree tassels must have a high acid content because our state tree is awfully good at rotting cars out
This is exactly what’s happening to my 2001 Outback. Water is actually leaking into the interior. Now I’m just trying to clean out the drain but it’s really clogged up
It's difficult to say where the water is leaking in.. Could be leaking around one of your doors, windshield, sunroof drains clogged up (if you have a sunroof) AC condensation drain clogged up, leaking heater core etc etc.. My suggestion would be to pull up the carpet around where the water is, sit in your car while it's raining or have someone run a garden hose over the car and hope that you can see the water coming in.. For the heater core (which is likely behind your dash) run your heater and see if water leaks while it's running..
In my car the water only comes when it rains and comes on at the back at only one side at the back seat, can you please give me the solution its monsoon going on in india and im facing this trouble 😵💫
I wonder if this is what's causing foul smell from my car fan. When I turn on the A/C i don't smell any foul smell; only when I switch to fan (take in outside air) do I smell it
If it only leaks when it rains then unlikely to be heater core.. It may be that the runoff drain(s) are clogged but also could be many other causes for water leaking in.. I would pull up the carpet on the side where it's leaking and either run water from a garden hose over the car or even better sit in your car while it is raining.. You may find the leak that way..
My 2002 regal is not draining properly and water is soaking the cabin filter, I can put a new cabin filter in and it will be soaked after one rain and fogging the windshield as soon as I turn the heat.
@@vw2slow1 Yeah their is a drain tube that runs along side the the fender used my compressor and a 3/16" piece of round stock. Had my son poke the drain from the top while I sent 150 psi up through from the bottom and it cleaned it out. Had to poke it from the top or would have had to bend the steel stock to go through bottom and that would not have worked, and since it clogged from running down through the top figured blow it back out the way it went in. Anyways it worked.
That is weirdly satisfying to watch😄 Never knew this part existed. Thanks for sharing!

You could start a compost pile 😁

mine has foam in that area with leaves behind it, should I remove it?
I didn't know that! Thanks!
Unrelated, but it’s also important to clear debris from the bottom of your truck’s doors.
Doing a fine service for all. Great job!
Hello, If water is getting in on the floormats, where would it be coming in from or how? Thanks for any help.

Excellent
There is water buildup right in the bottom of the windshield. There's no drain for the water to go out. So I have to dry it out with a towel.

You're welcome..

Why even have a grommet?

Your sun roof Drains may be clogged or your heater core is leaking
If water is getting into the cab, on one side only...when it rains?
Is it still a clog? Or my heater core?

Did you ever figure it out
