@WestKOutdoorsTelevision i appreciate that!! Oh and I subscribed. Lol
Cheers! Me too! Stay tuned for Season 2, we build a new outhouse at our elevation of 5000 ft which you may enjoy!
Had a few drinks in that cabin with the previous owner back in the 90's sledding that area! Glad it's still standing! Tell Bob the melting room hasn't been the same since he retired lol! All downhill after that :D
Ya! I hear that a lot about it being the place to party back in the day! Cabin wasn’t built that great, the snow load is always hard on it too, but we keep improving it slowly. We absolutely love being up there, sure recharges us up quickly and Bob gets up there in the fall to help with improvements as well.
Looks awesome guys!
Thanks so much!
I just subbed your channel
Thanks! Appreciate the support! Absolutely love your videos and have been watching yours for years!
Great cabin. I’ve also got a small trapline cabin innNorth Central BC.
Thanks Reid. We love getting up to the cabin as much as possible to work on the line. I have lived up in Northern BC and miss it lots.
Why can’t you have a permanent foundation in trap line cabins?
Hi, good question! The answer is: In British Columbia, trapline cabins on Crown land cannot have permanent foundations because they are not legally recognized under provincial statutes. The construction and use of these cabins are tolerated under specific conditions outlined in the Trapline Cabin Policy, but no legal rights to the land are granted. This ensures that the cabins remain temporary and solely for trapping-related purposes, avoiding misuse for private residential or recreational activities. Additionally, permanent foundations could imply ownership or long-term land use, conflicting with the Crown’s management principles and public land policies.
@ ahh I see. I was under the impression this was private land. Makes perfect sense thanks for the explanation!
I know space is at a premium but gosh, thinking about storing traps with gas cans makes me physically cringe
For sure! Marten don't seem to be too particular with the smell of gas, but lynx would definitely be a problem.
