    For the 205lbs bencher. Do alot of Pin presses at your sticking point on bench. Will literally add 20lbs to your bench. Program them in on one of your bench days as the main movement over a flat banch. Trust me. I used to get stuck on the bottom now I have no issues getting stuck there. Took my bench from 385 to 425.

    There's a rather famous saying about the overhead press that to press a lot, you must press a lot.

    For the last bencher dumbbell work will help with stability and of course upper back

    Steve just needs to touch a smidge higher and set a little bit tighter of a position off the start. Imo touching that low is leading to that slight need to heave (at least that's my .02)

    for the 315 bencher, i have some advice, but im keeping it to myself until i bench 315 and then i can tell you lol. overall looks good, a slightly higher touch point could help you lose less position during the touch, strong af tho

    I wonder if Steve would like a soft touch constant-tension style of bench better. I thought his bench looked pretty solid, but the sink and heave does make you move around a bit like he was concerned about.

      Very tru but looking at the biggest benchers that would be damn near perfect form then

    I think Steve loses tightness on his pause. He's got good tight position, gets to the bottom and relaxes and then gets tight again as he uses it to "slingshot" the bar off the chest. He's not constant tight throughout.

    it also takes time to train to use a belt, might as well start getting used to it earlier

      weird having to hit a certain weight-before buying a belt.

  • @Doggomorph
    @Doggomorph 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Unpopular opinion a belt doesn't make things easier you need time to work around it and it might even feel worse than beltless at the start

      I agree. I'm still not comfortable wearing my lever belt. I'll use it when I feel sluggish, but days where all the boxes are checked and the caffeine and carbs are flowing, I don't use the belt.

    5-Steve
    a)bar path is nearly perfect so elbow tucking is on point.
    B)Instability and leg drive:
    People who sink on bench and use a more intentional leg drive usually, have more problems to find the sweet spot, u need to create more tension on your legs at the beginning, maybe even trying to pull your feet a little back or driving the knees more outwards. Leg drive on sinking bench doesn't go 0-100% as some people think, it's more like 80% during descent, and then explodes to 100%
    (Also, start filming your sets with a lower camera angle to see if your but comes out of the bench, which can be a problem for bench sinkers)
    (as some other people said, U can maybe try the opposite style of soft touching and having constant leg tension throughout the whole movement, but for me, this would be more of a leg drive-learning tool, this sinking style seems to work really well for u)
    c)inability and lats/back use:
    you may be doing it but the video doesn't show well
    During descent u should be trying to actively ROW the bar into u and create more stability, even tho you can't literally bench press with your lats and traps, actively trying to use them creates more stability and consequently more force transfer.
    Something that helped me a lot with this was doing exercises like Larsen Press, T-shirt Spoto Press, and even Feet Up BP.

    Use the mirros.. See too many videos of people braking arms beacause they cant see if they have racked the bar correctly - I had the same with belt, like with wraps. Unless ur goin for pro, just use the accesseriois for ur own safety.

    • @hakarl_
      @hakarl_ 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I have never heard of anyone breaking an arm because they weren't using a mirror
