    It was good to see some familiar places. I know Gretna Green and I went to school In Moffat, for a time. I hope you have an enjoyable time. I was at Gretna Green in 2021 and enjoyed revisiting it. I love your new motor home. I hope you get many happy miles in it The bike is a handy way of getting around Bob. Moffat is a lovely town. StAndrews Church has Westminster chimes in the tower clock

    Hiya Bob, Jenny and Poppy - shortly after your arrival at Moffat, you were cleaning your windows, cab and wheels - i am so impressed with that stuff you were using and the cleaning quality was very high - you can polish my car anytime Bob hehe!! I do really, really like my windows and bodywork clean and slick looking, more presentable and aerodynamic too, gotta save fuel economy any chance we can lol. Take care.

    Moffat is one of our favourite sites so clean and as you said plenty to do. We stayed there over Christmas and often do on our way up to the Highlands.

    Yes the museum is very worth a look at and the Whiskey tasting is very good but only if you aren’t driving or have a co pilot. I hope you have lovely time in Scotland. Poppy’s has to get her blanket just right, my Coco does the same. Hi Bob, great deal on the Dry sprinkle . I’ve just ordered some for my camper. Thanks Bob 👍👍

    Lovely stop at Gretna and we had some nice scones we we went 😃 We saw our red heart when you were looking for yours 😮 I would worry about using dry sparkle on our ceramic coating. It may affect the shine or repellent. Moffat is a lovely site. Really enjoyed our quiet pitch at the back of the site overlooking the farm. Your pie and chips looked nice. When do you meet Bob and Aileen? Safe travels 😃🚐👍🏻 Trev n Sue

      I wouldn't imagine it would have any effect on your coating, but I can ask for you. We saw Bob and Aileen today at Strathclyde.

    Been twice to Moffat and in both trips the staff have over stated keeping within the pitch boundaries if erecting an awning.
    In fact we were told to move the awning as it was approx 1 foot over the boundary, the awning was only 2 meters wide,very narrow pitches.
    (The friendly Club)
    The new pitches are half a meter wider so on arrival look for one of these.

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  ปีที่แล้ว

      The older pitches are quite narrow, so good advice if you need to put an awning up..

    Another fuel tip at the moment if you are staying at Strathclyde Park and heading North, or south, check out the Fuel prices At Sainsbury’s & the independent station at Strathaven, some 5p/l cheaper than rest in Glasgow, unless you are a COSCO member (same) and Up to 10pm cheaper than further N or South. It is a bit of a deviation off the M74, Larkhall exit, 6m each way, but worth it if you have an empty tank.

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  ปีที่แล้ว

      I was surprised how Diesel was cheaper than Petrol and on the mainland it was 154p/l upwards and 138p/l in Stornaway.
      I see you are passing through Gretna, we found a nice Aire there, within walking distance of the shops.

  • @donbrown8001

    In North Wales Coast today diesel was also cheaper than petrol at a staggering £1.39 a litre. This is obviously because I’ve sold my diesel car to switch to petrol to enjoy lower running costs !!

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, always the way, like when we all switched to diesel cars because it was better for the environment.

    Chatting to a warden today at a Camping and Caravanning Club site they told me that all their shops are coming under the control of the club and every shop will be stocked identically and it’s card only payment . That’s what some shops are closed at the moment.

    I remember my Dad telling me how is friends ran off to Gretna green to be married when they were 16/17 this would have been 1960 or something, do they still do weddings i wonder? When you were cleaning i had a mark on my laptop i kept thinking you missed a bit 😂

    A different topic you stay on a lot club sites that are now very expensive . But seasonal pitches can be had for as little as 7 or 8 pounds per night fully inclusive that is a big difference in price . I know you cannot speak for the club just wondered what you thought about the big difference in prices and are they fair

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The big difference in seasonal pitches is because the pitch is permanently taken and the cost spread out across the year or season. Touring pitches are not always occupied.

    • @johnwalker6710
      @johnwalker6710 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That I understand but there is still a massive difference in price that we all pay . Time to sell the house and live on a couple of sites a year thanks for your response

    Hi Bob & Jenny, I wonder if you could do me a favour please? We have a 69-4 and have enquired about changing the tyres to something with better off-road grip and were recommended the General AT3's. I caught what I thought was part of 'General' on the tyre wall - are you able to let me know what the tyres are on the Adamo you're using please?

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are General Grabbers AT 235/65 R16 C 121/119 R M&S.

      @@BobEarnshawMoHo Thanks Bob, do you find them OK to drive?

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They ride fine, but I suspect there's a bit more tyre noise on rougher surfaces, however it's difficult to tell on most UK roads these days.
