Struff deserves more. Professional player without any childish behavior. Great shots.
Cool it.
Zverev with Struff‘s Mindset would be scary
This is a very good remark. Examplary.
He's also played some seriously strong Clay court tennis! Completely agree, top guy on court and pushed Alcaraz's alchemical skills to the limit.
Struff is the most arrogant player ,so aggressive along with his catch,so bye bye better for both
omg Struffy on fire, almost got the W. happy for Carlitos, but what a match!
There are days like these...and a great player needs to find the way to win somehow...
This type of match builds a champion.
Right Zverev?
Struff is a force to reckon with, what a player he is!
Unfortunately, at the end of his career. I wished Carlos and Struffi could have met later in the tournament, their final last year was a cracker as well.
I love this kid's smile and heart. He's my favorite from the new gen, but they are all good kids, though.
They're not all good kids.
@@DLundgren22 who isn't?
They are southerners (we say that here in Europe) - big heart, culture, country etc. Unfortunately a Fritz, Shelton or even the little one who lost to Nadal & didn't honour him will never come close.
@@jmanly707 Rune isn't what I would call a "good kid", but it's okay, we need some variety with the personalities too, not just their game.
Sinner isnt
Big congrats and best of luck to Lennard Struff for delivering the best tennis of his life at the end of his career (top 5 level) and by doing it on clay tournaments
Well played Struff!!!
carlos again proved why is he considered so amazing at such a young age. great win
Even when not at his absolute best, Alcaraz holds his nerve and finds a way - a true champion.
Carlos' smile is priceless!
Alcaraz showed the drama. My heart shook with each ball. Prince, may I meet Rafa in the final.
Struff playing some of the best tennis of his life. Good for him. Looks like a great guy
I won't lie.... he had me scared early on😅
nearly got a heart attack when i saw him get broken
YEah Struff has been playing really well.
Yes same here. Struff really playing well, but carlos just playing his best.🤩
yea his smile says it all......a great guy !!!!
Had he lost here it could have absolutely destroyed Carlos, he actually did very well to keep composed after blowing that service game. Time and time again he shows his big heart. Incredible from Struff never ever gave in and displayed a perfect attitude. Great match
This could have ended both ways- I am Spanish, but must acknowledge Struff’s class.
Struff really has drastically improved over the years.
im hurting for struff, he looked like he wanted it more and then chokes in the tie break:.(
I like Struff. Very resilient and calm. Hope the best for the future
Wait Struff is 34? Dude looks 19
True lmao
WHAT?! And to see him doing so well so late in his career is very heartwarming
STRUFF's tennis is of very high quality. He will continue to rise in the rankings. But Carlos' mentality is amazing.
Congrat's to both on an exciting match! Glad Carlos hung on for the win!
A win is a win! But Alcaraz should really improve his serve and focus on!
Yes! I can't understand why his serve doesn't improve. I've been saying this and seeing this in the comments for 2 years now.
Not very good from Alcaraz giving away so many advantages (break in the 2nd and 3rd set) and even 3 MP in a row! Good for him that he won this one (...). Still it is also some thing to even after screwing things up make it right.
Still it must have been a show - I wasn't able to watch the match - cause my home broadcaster chose to show Sinner :/ .. And thanks Madrid Open for putting these matches at the same time! Well done! ..
i've learned some time ago that when Carlitos plays Struff there is always a tough fight for Charlie.
Clay court match can be like that because the server doesn't have as much advantage as on faster surfaces.
Struff, the best non-top10 player by far! 💪
Agreed 💯
VAMOS CAMPEON 🤩🎾💪
4 match points at 5-3 and still cant finish. I almost got a heart attack !
In the he got the W !
I'm a bit concerned of Alcaraz's consistency, he was up a break in both 2nd and 3rd set then ended up in tiebreak, he has trouble keeping the intensity and pressure when he's ahead
while I do agree with you regarding this match and he just gets a bit too relaxed when he's leading, he surely knows how to increase the intensity and pull out a win. Great observation!
He keeps going for big shots in the worst of moments. Instead of hitting a good forehand and close in at the net, he goes for the 110 mph winner to the weak side of the returner
@@jaimedelgado4924 exactly, I've said this before, Alcaraz's biggest strength is also his biggest weakness, he's always looking to hit a highlight shot instead of just "boring" but high-percentage shots like Djokovic and Sinner
True. It is his biggest weakness. This is the difference between Alcaraz compared to Sinner and Novak. Alcaraz loves being relaxed, playing loose, and the entertainer so much that he gets distracted. He is struggling to find the balance. He has done this in his first two matches in this tournament and today was the worst of them all. I'm sure his team is working on this.
I think you should consider he's been injured. One week ago he didn't know if he was ready to play this tournament.
Alvaraz has a brilliant game BUT has some serious dips in play throughout tournaments..especially when hes leading..shocking..Its why he didn’t last at number one for long..they need to work on his mental stamina because its disturbing at times..he should have at least five more titles than he does now
He was number one for 36 weeks. Has been in the top 4 ever since 2022. What are you talking about?
😅Bravo legendo, samo je jedan i jedini Alcaraz. Samo hrabro, da se zna ko je legenda❤
Merci à canal+ pour la diffusion de ce match c'était vraiment incroyable❤
Alcaraz biggest weakness is his lack of focus on certain matches especially when he gets nervous. He just is so committed on entertaining the audience forgetting that also playing fully focused can be entertaining. He would have closed this match in straight sets had he been focused. He is easily distracted and it almost cost him the match today. Against someone like Sinner who is highly disciplined and focused, he would have lost this match. Phew! He almost cried out of relief when his opponent hit the ball long. Hopefully they work on his mental game for his next matches.
Como perdió con sinner este año en Indian Wells dices no? Llevas razón en parte , se desconcentra fácil, pero siempre tiene algo , para sacar y ganar en momentos importantes
This happens to everyone. It’s happened to Nadal, Djokovic, Federer. It’s natural. Struff is a great opponent who does a lot of things to make Alcaraz uncomfortable, but a lot of it was bad luck that got into Carlos’s head in that 5-3 game. It’s not his “biggest weakness,” that would be his serve.
Also let’s not forget that Carlos is 2-0 in grand slam finals, has won nearly every M1000 final he’s played, and saved a match point vs Sinner at USO2022. Big match performance is definitely not something he deserves criticism for.
Yeah he is a human being
@@AC-ck8hwhe beat sinner at Indian wells this yr
You're so relaxed, don't forget to smile..you're the best..
Carlos-- rocks !!
Well played, Carlos, you are the best..
Absolutely unimaginable to see the winner of this clash particularly when the score was 40-0 with 5-3 in the serve game of Alcaraz. A fortuitous scenario ensued with the stamina of Struff. Even so, Carlitos has never backed down and carrying on his tenacity and mettle within the stage.
I wonder what the odds were on Struff to break once Alcarez went 40-0 up.. I venture to say about 100-1 if not more!
The correct bet was Alcaraz win though 😊
I said break serve, and he did break serve so no you’re wrong
@@matthewa7433 break serve would rather be 25-1 or at most 50-1 definitely not 100-1.
JODER MACHOTE, QUE NOS HICISTE SUFRIR HASTA EL FINAL! 😀 VAMOOOOOOS CARLITOOOS 💪🏻🎾❤️🇪🇸
It was amazing ...
I really like Struff. He has all the ingredients to really excel & begin winning more titles, plus he's a credit to the sport. It's only a matter of time before everything clicks & he starts giving the top players much more trouble.
That is what seperates the men from the MEN. Kudos to both players.
Struffi is clearly the best German player of the modern era. The best attacking player these days! He was just a little bit short of winning Madrid 2. Struff plays boldly and courageously and full of power. Zverev only plays boring third-class women's tennis. 'Sascha' can only play scaredy-cat tennis like a loser.
Alcaraz on fire 🔥
Calito was actually on the ropes. He could have easily lost this. Struff played very well
@@vivtorebassey Ok, but he won. Move on.
Definitely not on fire, making double fault on his own match point and getting broken back right after...
@@docteurgillesalewina5669 Then it's sinners. If it's not gonna be Carlos then it should be sinner lol
Congratulations, Alvarez
Stuff, playing like
A finalist,😮🎉🎉
When a contest from both men. Each one clawing out opportunities 🎉🎉🎉
carlos won❤❤❤ all that matters. A win is always a win And this is a very special one❤❤
Respect to Struff!
Here is a match between two very tired and maybe hurting players. If they can not go three sets what will they do if needing to go five sets?
Post full highlights!
Maybe Struff can make something very good at Roland Garros and go deep. He plays very well at clay. Congratulatios to both players great fight!Carlitos came through this match, very hard to play against him and win!
Alcaraz necesita madurar para ser un SuperCrack. Lo tiene todo, pero no se pueden perder tantos puntos de partido. Le deseo lo mejor.
Great win Alcaraz. But serve is poor, many first serves didn’t work, and losing match point in third set was bonkers
The forearm injury may prove to be a blessing in disguise. Alcaraz has changed his service motion slightly, adding a slight curl to his wind-up and loosening his arm instead of having it stiff. His first serve was horrendous towards the end though, so the serve's still a WIP. Glad he's making the changes regardless.
En der kan spille tennis 👍👍👍
Honestly though who the heck starts highlights in the 3rd set?
Vamos
Superb every tennis matches should be played like this
But unfortunately most matches are straight matches
Бриллиантовая рука
Si, grite Canival. 💪
Carlitos a dia de hoy, tan espectacular como inconsistente.
Oh, I remember this commentator. She said something memorable, "Hands~~~"
Height is King in the modern tennis game lol
It really is. Ideal height is about 6'1" or 6'2" like Roger, Rafa and Novak. More than that makes for boring tennis matches. Imho.
Glory was beckoning
Bién Carlos Alcaraz, ganar exigido, así es que se mide el nível, 👏👏👏👏
Carlos is HIM!
Kinda deserved a final set tiebreak this one 😅
Guys where can I watch live for free in India
Alcaraz almost choke this game! Almost highway for Sinner to win his first ATP 1000 on clay and become number 1 in the World!
that commentator has the personality of a marshmallow left in the hot sun
Spoiler blocker
Carlos almost managed to choke 2 sets back to back
2030: Congratulations Alcaraz to win 9th Madrid title!!!❤💎
baby steps
He is in the Quarters, he hasn't won yet. With the way he played today he may not.
Alcaraz did everything to lose Struff was caught out of guard and couldn't take Alcaraz determination to lose. Alcaraz absolutely light out in 5-3 40-0, unexplainable and unexpected I had turned off the notebook already "the match is done" I thought 😂
When Alcaraz wss leading 4-1 0-30 in the 3rd I thought the match was over...boy was I wrong😂😂
I felt the same. It's incredible how Alcaraz recovered. I was sure that after getting broken again while serving for the match and up 40-0, then get broken, he would lose. He managed to win but this is something very worrying. It also happened to Serena Williams at AO and Roger during his last Wimbledon final. Players must learn never to give up the intensity till they have won the last point. They have to respect their opponent and imagine they will still be fighting. I hope Alcaraz learned that lesson the hard way after this match. He should be thanking his stars.
Carlitos has had difficulty closing matches. He really needs to work on that just making things difficult for himself.
Stuff der mannnn
this is not dramatic ....
he didnt lose !!!!!!
Struff would have deserved this more than Alcaraz!
I'm pretty sure he didn't deserve it more if he lost
@@elplan3605 well, then you do not need the expression 'deserved', when the result is telling all, genius.
@@HaleG9No, you can say Struff also deserved it but it's stupid to say he deserved it more
@@elplan3605 well, genius - it seems you cannot even comprehend what you read. Nothing to add to this, indeed, 'stupid' conversation, Alcaraz-fanboy.
@@HaleG9Te boyfriend of Struff. Stfu, he lost again. 😭😭😭🖐🏻🖐🏻🖐🏻🖐🏻🖐🏻
No surprise here. Alcaraz is the greatest player of all time by far.
What's wrong with Alcaraz that he almost loses to a German like that? It hurt enough when he lost to Zverev, who I don't like at all. Even though Struff is a German, I find him more likeable than Zverev, but; vamos Spain - vamos Nadal & Alcaraz! 🏆🇪🇦♥️🙏
Cuidado pour la prochaine fois
leading 5-3, 40-0, third set..the match should of been over then! Its why he isn’t number one! thats a serious mental walkabout..Struff was great but Carlos should of never have let that happen..hes done it before with Chokovic..leading and on the verge of closing out the match and then falters and loses..he got lucky this time..Struff hiccupped and the crowd helped him as he said in after match interview
Struff should have won the game, such a crazy comeback but made it too easy for alcaraz at the end
Struff didnt do enough really. Alcaraz had control of the game and gave it up with unforced errors. Struff was struggling to stay in long rallies.
Struff had it!!! Put better shots in this video please!!!
It could have easily been a 2x0 but Carlitos chose to give the home crowd a bit of drama 😂😂😂
An Alcaraz Nadal final would be a well deserved good bye tour for Nadal.
Sadly not to be😢 Though Rafa handled one of a few goodbye speeches (Rome? RG) so well. His sister and mom were in tears. So was I ! It's going to be a tough few weeks ahead.

ammazza che chiulo...
Se struff non si fosse suicidato Carlos questa la perdeva. Era totalmente in bambola.
Jajaja estás cagado spagethi
I dont like the Carlos attitude for moments and for what im viewing, he played with his opponent, he was like: Im gonna loose some points for this being interesting hope im wrong
Wanted struff to win so bad
Can we please see less of Alcaraz's tonsils.....every photo shows this wide open shout.....really??
STRUFF deserved to win that match.
the ball women are disgusting!!
Difficile de gagner en l'Espagne et public espagnol qui hurle a chaque petit pas de Carlos. Ce dernier il a soif de compliments à outrance, spectacle cirrida .
Not derseved
How many times in a match Alcaraz clinces his fist?
Everybody - 'Yes' 🤡
So what?
Take away these girlish drop shots from little Carlito - and he loses against almost everyone.
Antidoping for Carlos Alcaraz now
