The references to Dissidia are fantastic, as this means 012 is actually canon to the franchise.

There was another scene after the last one shown here if you talk to him again after clearing the rift he spawns. Pretty big hook for the next DLC.

Dissidia is alluded to several times by him and some of the monsters in the rift. They talk of other worlds. Other cycles. An older Garland. A moogle with darkness in his heart. A "Great....." WoL not being from World A, and more.

More chaotic neutral/chaotic good...plus a comedic character in most of his appearances not including different Gilgamesh's(FFIX, FFXI, FF Type-0, and FFXV) because those ones only share his name but the one in Type-0 shares his ability to change into an eight armed form.
He redeemed himself near the end of FF5 by saving Bartz and the others.
He is not really evil, he just Gilgamesh as foolish as how he think, he is a powerful adversary every single time he met his foes. Unless if he accidently equipped Excalipoor.
Nah, he listed as antagonist because he's Exdeath right hand, bu he just want to get a job not because he was evil. The real antagonist for FFV is Exdeath and he also the reason Gilgamesh wandering inside the void
