Greatest college quarterback of my lifetime. 33-3 record, played for three national championships, won two of them, and was MVP in those games. Never felt we would lose a game with Tommie Frazier at the helm. Unbelievable leader and athlete. GO BIG RED.
@@FreedomFiveFL Yep. Phantom clipping call that negated a touchdown, the fumble into the endzone that wasn't called are just two of the more memorable terrible calls in that game.
He doesn't get near the respect he should. Best option QB I've ever seen. So strong, fast, lateral movement, never gave up on a play, great deep, good arm...just the total package. It's a shame he's so overlooked.
Tommie was a nightmare for opposing defenses. He was fearless, extremely confident, pure leader, demanding and expected to win every game. You knew what he was gonna do and he dared you to stop the Huskers. My opinion, that 95 Huskers team was the greatest college football team ever. Tommie executed that offense to perfection.
Those were the days. Me being the youngest and the only one not born in Nebraska my whole fam would gather around the TV to watch teams get dismantled by the Huskers. We knew times were great but didn't know just how special they were until the W's kept coming. When the ride was over we thought Nebraska would find a QB in a few years somewhat close to Tommie right? Wrong. No team really ever did.
that call from the fiesta bowl, against Florida, I remember the announcer to this day, oh they dont have him yet, How Many Tackles Can 1 Man Break, Legendarily Great player, and to this day one of my Favorite, thank you Tommy for the Memories
Capital R this dude, Jamelle Holieway, Major Harris and Dee Dowis RIP... Tommy was the greatest tho. IMO he's definitely in the top 5 or 10 CFB players of all time.
Tommie Frazier deserved Archie griffin status. No question about it. Should have been a two time heisman winner and show me a better option quarterback in history and I’d give you everything I own. He was Tom’s golden goose, south Florida swag. Travesty what happened to him and Brooke. Rip. Tommie was xxxtra. GO BIG RED!❤🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈shout out to the hall of fame committee: Roger Craig needs to be in the Hall of Fame!
Blood Clotting issue (Chrons Disease) in his leg. While not the same exact situation as Chris Bosh, it was pretty much the same end result of not being able to play anymore.
@@scottwilson1251 nowadays they making it in the NFL..... let's go back in time tho....Donovan McNabb was a option QB for my neighborhood catholic high school Mount Carmel Caravans.... and went to university of Syracuse where they ran a option type offense when he was there.... Steve McNair at Alcorn state university they ran the option.... even Randall Cunningham aka the Rubberband Man was an option QB in college... Kordell Stewart at university of Colorado.....but nowadays Lamar Jackson, Tyrod Taylor from Virginia tech university, Michael Vick was an option QB from Virginia tech as well... Marcus Mariota from Oregon university..... and there's more... can't think about them off the top of my head right at this moment
@@victoranderson5011 You picked out lots of mobile QB's in this list. However there is a major difference from mobile QB's and QB'S that ran the Option. ALSO every qb you named played out of the shotgun.
He would be a first round pick in today’s game. Born in the wrong decade. The NFL didn’t fit his skill set back then. You had to be a pocket passer. In today’s game you need to be mobile and have pocket awareness not just a statue standing there waiting to get your head taken off. Tommy was nice.
Well look at the highlights. Tommie Frazier was awesome and i'm a Michigan fan, but he was basically a running back playing QB. He wasn't going to play QB in the NFL and be a drop back passer, and NFL teams weren't going to run the option. He could've tried to switch positions like Scott Frost, but I think with the blood clots and not playing QB he called it quits.

Should be 3 for 3 in title games if the refs werent blind or paid off. They got jobbed vs FL State.

@@flatwater5 Indeed. The first one negated 7 points for us, the second gave the 7 points when they didnt deserve it. That's 14 points, we lost by 2.
Greatest player that never won the Heisman.
Town Curmudgeon so true
Really
I wore a tommy jersey till i was 20. Greatest ever
He won 2 nationalchampships played in 3 in a row
& DIDN'T GET DRAFTED TO THE NFL...
One of the most underrated players of all time.
He was a much better passer than he was given credit for. His play-action passes were deadly.
Nebraska's play action was like an auto win back then. When you run 60 times a game, any play action got 8 guys biting HARD

He was basically Tebow before Tim Tebow. But he had a much stronger arm.
@@dl30wpbdefinitely accurate on the arm part.

Lucian Holmes I completely AGREE

TOMMY FRAZIER!!! that man could straight up truck some people
Yes!! Tommy Frazier my favorite Qb! My favorite run by him is the 75 yard run against florida in the tostito bowl!
Same!!
Elite Sports Go big red!!
The 3 BLACKSHIRTS GO BIG RED!!! 💯💪🏼
Elite Sports. BONEYARD💀💯💪
Charlie ward beat him
Played with the same mindset, intensity, and physicality as Michael Jordan. Both knew that they themselves dictated the game. Straight studs!
Matthew McCann 💯
Man he was so 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥I miss him playing..it's was like watching him play basketball on the football court 💯💯💯
The only other QB to run the option as efficient as Frazier was Charlie Ward.
Capital R this dude, Jamelle Holieway, Major Harris and Dee Dowis RIP... Tommy was the greatest tho. IMO he's definitely in the top 5 or 10 CFB players of all time.
FSU did not run the option with Ward. They had a pro style offense. Ward was good but NOT an option QB.
The goat
Rice from ND was pretty good
Dude was a beast straight monster
Tommy Frazier still in the Nebraska soul♥️
TOMMY FRAZIER IS MY FAVORITE COLLEGE QB OF ALL TIME.

Once a QB figures out a system, the offense can't be stopped
One of the greatest college quarterbacks of all time... the very best for Big Red... such a joy to watch his career
Great vid glad to see you hit 1k subscribers love this channel

No problem love the vids
From a Michigan fan I remember touchdown Tommie he was incredible rest in peace
He's still alive.
You're probably thinking of Lawrence Phillips, bud :)
@@alexmuscat8235 no I'm not I'm thinking of touchdown Tommy I'm 45 years old I remember him
@@kitto2brazy465 you are correct you still alive I thought he passed away from blood clots that you stopped his playing career
He was Manzell before Johnny did it. A true NCAA legend.
He was making these defenders look like fools. Wish I got to see this live
Born too early, would’ve been dominant in today’s nfl
@Elite Sports
Thank you
Nice!
Freakin blood clots killed his career GREATEST I EVER SEEN PLAY
Literally A 1 man wrecking crew!!
He’s GOOD!!! Can’t believe it he didn’t make to the NFL.
Had a health issue. So sad😭

Have you ever seen an option QB make it in the NFL? Why do you think Scott Frost tried to play Safety in the league.

Great video but the background music dulls it.
Use the actual video sound
Sooooh... What happen to this guy? Bomani Jones said this is the best college QB he ever saw. These highlights definitely show talent

The blod clots prevented him from being drafted in the NFL is what it seems like which is sad.
played briefly in the CFL for the Alouettes
Hy Elite could I have a shoutout vid?
And I have a suggestion for a vid, but you don't have to do it.
You could just do a face reveal.😕
Next Tommy Frazier= Adrian Martinez
This comment aged well…..
5/23/2024. What 3 did he lose? Well, not just him, the others too.
That’s my cousin
face reveal or im unsubscribing

Frazier played his entire career with blood clots in the knees. If he was healthy…
