Just want to give you all a HUGE SHOUTOUT! This video helped me solve my issue. I have a 2016 Husq FE 450 with an aftermarket Enduro Engineering fuel pump (OEM died at two years old) that has a lifetime warranty on it. Well, even the EE filter developed a pin hole in the inline filter after two years in the tank. Without your knowledge and diagnosis tactics you shared with us, I'd be tearing into the throttle body trying to clean/replace the injector. Saved me tons of anguish.
Plesase be carefull with testing fuel pump... i had gas spraying in my tank so i take it out and i have tested mine pump like you did, i put fuel pump in container with gas i then i put +/- wires on battery and spark ignited gas and in a second everything was in flame... beacuse of shity fuel filter which was leaking i burned my garage and bike has only 5 hours.. cheers
Found the relevant video related to my issue. My Husky Fe250 can not start. Found out fuel tank contain water and some hard debris. I don’t know from where water came from. Not dismantle yet the fuel pump assembly (assembled to the tank). Question: does fuel pump has strainer on its suction prior goes to filter then and injector? Does fuel filter is repairable? Tq in advance
Yes, obviously I used a fuel pressure gauge and that's why I knew there was a problem with the fuel. There's nothing after that or during this video that a Guage would help with. Had to find out WHY the pressure was low.
the initial check the spray inside the tank do you empty the gas tank fuel then look in there or if the bike is topped off with fuel would you be able to see??
First of all, I'm a huge fan of your channel man! So normally if the tank is about half full we can usually see fuel spraying inside the tank if we look inside the gas cap. The only issue is we usually can't tell exactly WHERE it's spraying from, which is what led us to remove it from the bike and get a closer look.
@@mxgryan hey thanks! Good to know. I’m trying to diagnose my bog out and seize up sound if you want to take a listen to the GoPro I just posted on instagram.com/Trailboundco
Bro I have a question ? if you can help me out please, I had my sxf for over 3 years now and it’s had the same problem I dont know what it is and my Mechanic is just trying diferent things or lying to me. So the problem is when the bike warms up and as I’m stretching gear to shift up, just before I shift it starts cutting, is that clear to understand? 🙏 Thank you .
What year SXF? 350? Is the bike modded as far as the exhaust and intake? Sometimes problems in the high rpms like at the top of the rev range and runs fine otherwise, it is actually a dirty injector or a bad injector. But that would be the last thing i would do. Buy a fuel pressure gauge from Slavens Racing or Taco Moto. Its an In-Line Fuel Pressure Tester. That way you cna ride the bike, and when it starts to cut out, take a look at the fuel gauge and see if the pressure drops below 50/52psi on full throttle. If it drops then you have an issue like the video. Also replace the small external filter with a Metal Fuel Filter for these bikes like from Golan or a Sure Shot Fuel Filter. Also when was the last time the spark plug boot has been replaced? It screws onto the spark plug wire, but they go bad after a while and it can cause issues like this.. Also a fresh spark plug. A good battery and a charging stator.. If you open your fuel tank amd see fuel spraying like said in the video you probably have a split fuel fuel filter that only leaks under pressure or a bad line/fitting in the tank doing the same. Could also be a bad fuel pump that gets hot and stops working properly, but a fuel pressure test will show you that right away...
i did this same test...should fuel be coming out of the top Iround aluminum piece near the electrical plug? Or is something clogged pushing fuel up there when i do this test? thanks.
@@mxgryan thanks! Found out it was a faulty fuel regulator (the round shiny thing lol). It was stuck open position, so more fuel was coming out of that then going to the injector.
@@samuelyeet6006 took the fuel pump put, put it inside a container with fuel then tried to start the bikes. Thats when I saw the fuel wasn't coming through the fuel lines instead it was coming out the regulator.
Hello! Please help! My 2011 berg fe450 won’t start. I washed it and blow the water with compressed air. after I started it for 10 min and drive 2 km. Then I turned off. All good. After one week bike won’t start. Dash dead. FI no light. No blown fuses. I replaced dash battery. Engine is turning but won’t start. I put contact spray in all joint. Nothing. When I made a bridge from + to fuse 1, gas pump started and FI on but I don’t hit start afraid not to burn smtg. I don’t find power relay to test it!
Quick question bro? I have a 2018 kawasaki kx450f with 32hours on it. I bought it brandnew. If i let it sit and idle for a minute and then i rev it a small smoke cloud comes out and then it's fine. But if i let it idle again for a minute or so and then rev it again it does a small smoke cloud again. I had the valves adjusted at 23 hours. Should i do a topend on it? I dont get to ride it alot but i do ride it hard when i do get to ride.
Hey man. Ive seen that on other 16-18 KX450fs, seems to cause no problem. Maybe a failed valve seal? Either way I wouldn't fret, you should be able to go to 70-80 hours on that stock top end before you worry about it! :)
Ok thanks for the advice bro. I truly appreciate it. It had me worrying a little. Hahah didnt wanahave to spend any extra money before the holidays haha. Love the videos bro

I'm super pumped to hear that, and I truly appreciate those kind words brother!
After WEEKS of trying to figure out why my 2020 husky fx350 was doing this. Same exact leak as the video . Thanks so much !
Glad it helped!
Do you remember what the symptoms were when you replace the filter & stuff?
Thank you very much, I had the same problem. Filter was broken, I changed it and that's it. My bike goes very well now.
This is exactly why my 350xcf was bogging and sputtering. Great video!!

Wow due what a crazy story! I'll definitely note that. Glad youre okay !
use a longer jumper next time! I almost lit mine on fire last night XD

excellent video. saved my bacon!! I replaced the 10$ filter instead of the 3400$ fuel pump! you guys are rad!!
Heck yeah Dan!
Wait what? What fuel pump cost $3400?
A fuel pressure gauge is very useful to diagnose this and other fuel supply issues. Less than $40 with the correct dry break fitting at Slavens.

I hate those pinched clamps on fuel lines. Always a pain
Yeah those clamps are stupid!

I think you're talking about the bypass...it will only come out there if something is clogged or blocked.
