Pretty slick setup. I haven’t had an issue with my fuel running out yet, but it would definitely be a possibility. If you were just riding some road back to the truck after a long ride.
I would note that this is really only necessary for dual sport bikes, going down the pavement or dirt roads. I have had no issues with the new fuel pump design not using fuel when riding off road.
And the dumb ass gas cap ! You don't think China is involved in these ridiculous designs for simple things that aren't and issue in the first place ?@@barnescycle
That fucking radiator cap!!!!! 😡 and they don’t give us MX models with springs in the forks. Oh and you can’t reach the shock adjusters because they covered it with the side panel 🤦♂️
Went out riding yesterday with a guy that had a brand new 2025 Husqvarna 300 TX and 3 miles from getting back to camp, with 5 " of gas in his tank, the bike stopped running. Had to go back to camp and get my truck to go and pick him up ! Ridiculous ! How can they give you a big tank, that can't use the last gallon of fuel in it ? Stupid ! 😮
Lol he should of just laid the bike down then the gas would go over to the other side of the tank or just do some wheelies Evey now and then and the gas will go where it needs to , I think only slow riders have this problem , me personally will never own a KTM 😂
They got ready to race from Husaberg. As that was the saying. If everyone would stop drinking the orange kool aide maybe they would figure shit. I am so done with being their ginny pig with my hard earn $$$ never again will i own one
@@husaislander4838. I have a bunch of Husabergs. They are great. As for the Huskies. The TPI is as new as I have. Rest are all carburetor. TBI is the tipping point.
this video is miss leading , i have no problem with the stock tank on my bike , they werent designed for a huge tank like a IMS, plus they suck to ride . GO buy a adventure bike if you need a shit ton of fuel and poor handling.
I ride from the house to the foot hills and Sierras. I need to ride 20-40 miles on paved to get home. Now have to think about timing the ride with gas stations. Never think about this with my 701. So, 3+ gal tank on the 24 500 excf and hit the twisties with pronounced lean angle to keep that fuel sloshing... hahaha Realistically, its not going to be a bfd.
I'll keep the ol '18, Lectron, works awesome!
How come it is not offered on the IMS website for a Gas Gas 500es?

Or just learn to pop a wheelie to get the gas to the fuel pump.
What about cleaning out the new tank before installing? What’s the best way to do that?

This is sweet but wish it was available for the stock tank.
What a blunder by ktm. You pay over 10k for a bike and you can't use all your fuel? Wtf??
Agreed man, and then the dumb ass radiator cap situation
Hehe for real... I'll fly right by on my ol trusty RFS laughing ^_^
Yeah. I think they were just making a cool good pump for supercross and motocross and not thinking about off-road teams etc.

Pretty sweet kit but like you said it's pretty expensive especially after dropping 12k on a new bike.
Ive never had an issue drawing all my fuel.
When you spend $12k on bike and then still have to spend another bunch of $$$ for poor design...
Great video & instructions. Thank You.
Appreciate the feedback!
It doesn't work with the 2024+ XCW models??
Email Jay for all tech questions, contact info in About tab. But should work on that bike.
Can this be installed on a stock tank?
No you need the IMS tank build for the old pump and new frame.

At one time their motto was ready to race. And they were right out of the crate. Now it can be mods mods and more mods. Along with fixes. 😊

Very true👍
No
If you are on bumpy trails you will not have a problem if you are on the flats you will be in trouble. You obviously don't ride fire roads
Only needed if you spend a lot of time on your ass cruising paved and fire roads.
