The first appearance of compo's matchbox, and the last appearance of Blake butler as head town librarian mr wainwright. This was a great show these men were the contemporaries of both of my maternal and paternal grandparents.
Fabulous episodes my man... unfortunately during the early episodes in the 1970s all english television shows were broadcast in mono as the television sets of the day only had one speaker...it's necessary to listen carefully.,rather like listening to an echo.i think... also the reason the image zooms in and out is because of modern bbc copyright legislation on TH-cam... ridiculous, but here we are...😁👍

Sound was so bad I couldn't understand most of it. The visual was somewhat of a blur, too. Sad because the series was clever.
Don't know if it's my nook, but the voices sound tinny. This has been the only one like this.

There was nothing in the matchbox. Whenever any woman looked inside the matchbox, she would have to pretend and scream.
