Hahaha, watch twice and still makes me laugh! Miss them! Comedy not the same nowadays! But my Welsh mother in law was bad enough! She would outdo this one hahaha!
Over 300 episodes all written by Roy Clarke, who only ever visited the production a few times, he posted the script in & left it to the BBC to cast & direct it ..
If you like the actor Bill Owen, you can find lots of things to watch in which he starred. Carry On films, Brideshead Revisited, and he also had a second career as a song writer having written Marianne for Cliff Richard.
Good old Thora, she was a gem! My old Man used to try the door three of four times when we went out despite the fact that Marleen next door never missed a stranger.
Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view!" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"
Howard should not allow the woman he married, horrible Pearl, to push him around physically. He should have found ways to stop her by grabbing her hands. ...........
Compo Simonite, one of the greatest characters in television history. Bill Owen was a gem.

I will just say it OCD. Howard, Glenda & Berry are the only ones still with us
Howard died a couple of days ago (September 2021) Alvin and Hobbo are still with us though

I hate to say this. When compo passed away the series should have finished!
Compo was great. The series was still very good, for me anyway.
When compo passed that was the end as far as I am concerned!!! RIP Bill OWEN.
The only time when wives and the other women that nag you over and over, are worth a chuckle.
A whole town of badgered men would make the most faithful man cheat 😀
Pearl reminds me of my mother- scary.
ans these gormless men would make fairhful womn cheat. the only man i would befaithfu. to is seymour.

"You'd know what I'd like before I die....... I'd like to stroke a penguin" XD
barry is the most gormless twit ever.
His family's reaction is priceless.

@@mashpolson1 didn't mean to offend. Just sharing a thought 🤔
@@rachelforeman3802 poor Barry
Single men should watch a few of these episodes before they marry
id like to eat a packet of penfuins beforei die
I don't blame Howard for splitting all the time! Poor ol' guy! :(
There is no good reason to cheat on your wife...He is a horrible person..He even has mannerisms of a rat..He does the character really well....Cheers
Billy Wolf If you had your soul crushed a thousand times, you wouldn't, and the women in the village are controlling.
When you're married to Pearl, there is every reason!
satchfan2010 I couldn't agree more!!!!
Pearl just needs 10 minutes of being bent over the coffee table...Lol

This show is nothing without Bill Owens.
Howard should not allow the woman he married, horrible Pearl, to push him around physically. He should have found ways to stop her by grabbing her hands. ...........
OR HER NECK......WITH BOTH HANDS !👍😁
unwatchable more adds than ITV
would rather put up with the few ads, than that small box of a program
Just install ad blocker! I haven't watched any ads in the last 4 years!
