Absolutely beautiful. I always believed the Cups and Balls should be a fast-paced high-action trick. This is done great with multiple climaxes. 10/10 would recommend
Wow. I'm in awe. Cups and balls surrounded by a live audience and do a lot of different tricks one after another. It's amazing how much practice he must have put in. Wow!
The final penny load was invented and created for Mendoza by Minnesota artist and magician Steven Paul Carlson back in 1976. Though Carlson first used pennies with the line..It doesnt make any sense (cents) any loose items can be used. The original intention was to have 100 little balls roll out.
Your interesting post was 14 yrs ago but Im curious if you know if its cardboard disk or something similar holding load in? Didnt seem to take him much to release it but had to be bottom after loading and getting cup on table
Mendoza is behind one of the all time best Cups and Balls, period. Ricky Jay may have the only other comparably solid routine. This is absolutely gorgeous.
Awesome cups and balls performance. I was blown away by the pennies. Didn't see that coming at all. After watching this video, I did a search for John Mendoza. Sadly, he passed away in 2020. =(
@alonepsycho Thank you for the nice comment on the final penny load, I created that about 35 years ago and gave one to Mendoza who was a good friend at the time. I also made one for his Fez routine.
Copperfield deserves respect for what he's done for the magic community by preserving so vast a library of magic texts, plus his style is just different, so no need to put him down. This guy is good, and copperfield is good at what he does as well.
guys I wanna do the cups and balls routine in my next show , 'n' I like his ending with the cents, any suggesting for what I can use to put the cents ?
@cj5jeep80 The penny load was created and made for Mendoza by Steven Paul Carlson an artist and magician from Minnesota. Carlson created it about 35 years ago. Any object can be used, Carlson used pennies as they were the first loose thing he could find around the house and later came up with the line "doesn't make any sense (cents)" The original though was to use tons of little tiny balls.
The cup full of pennies finish was created by and made for Mendoza by Minnesota artist & magician Steven Paul Carlson. Mendoza is always an entertaining performer! Audiences love his magic. The Magic Castle should have made him close-up magician of the year.
Actually, if you watch carefully and look for it, he does make a noise when he puts the coins in. Of course, nobody notices because they're busy applauding and, even if you did hear it, you'd imagine it was just the cups jangling together.
for all you budding magicians , to help in the art of misdirection always have a beautiful blonde with gorgeous legs sitting next to you. Joking aside , awesome routine !
@heelfan1234 Please, don't try to comment on something you have less then half a clue about, and don't be naive. You wouldn't be able to do this if you practiced for years. I know this because I'm a professional, full-time magician. A routine like this takes years to master.
@Combustion99 Actually I do the effect myself. And much better than this with the Vernon wand spin vanish and stuff which I doubt you can do. Also the final loads in this were clumsy with a lot of fiddling about in the bag under the table. It was quite transparent when the loads were going in, Dai Vernon could do this better at 78 years old standing up and loading the finals from his back pocket.
I think he loads the coins in a plastic bag which is then removed under misdirection of the coins appearing. I'm not 100% sure but I think this is the method.
@heelfan1234 And, does the fact that you do the effect mean you do it well? If you do it as well as you say you do, post a video, and I'll critique it. I'll be honest, because I have nothing to lose or win. Also, I did not say that this routine was perfect, because it is nowhere close to where routines by Ammar/Vernon/Burton are.
yea, magic looks very simple once you know the secret, but the real magic is how you actually perform it now you know the secret, which requires years of practice
no no, I meant brainhorm, not you. I was agreeing with you. I was saying how it wasn't likely that an eight year old could be as good as Mendoza. Sorry, I replyed to the wrong box.
😮Don't let yourself be fooled by this guy pretending to use sleight-of-hand to do all these tricks! You can tell that it's not sleight-of-hand at all but using real magic to do these tricks!😮
First of all this is a cups and balls not a chop cup routine. If you think this guy is great I think you are the one who hasn't seen any magic, all he added to that routine was a production of some coins other then that it was a standard cups and ball routine. And btw I don't need to watch any porn; I mentioned the girl to say that she was much better then the routine.
Well I call it lame to provoke a response. It is not lame but skill and misdirection. Also I like to reveal all magic so new people can learn. I will help new people. Those who are not interested will soon forget. Those who are will become the magicians of the future.
✋FRAUD ALERT✋ IF YOU USE SLOW-MOTION YOU CAN SEE JUST WHERE HE IS USING REAL MAGIC AND TRYING TO GET AWAY WITH HAVING PEOPLE BELIEVE IT'S JUST SLIGHT OF HAND ✋😮
When he is putting the balls away he is going into his bag and getting the big balls and putting them under the cups when he hovers them near the back of the table! At 3:52 - 3:54 when people are looking at the big balls he hovers the centre cup at the back of the table and shoves the coin load in. This is not clever or magical it is lame. Also I can tell you the audience are the L and L stooge crowd who are brought in to applaude and go oooh and aaah in all the right places.
Absolutely beautiful. I always believed the Cups and Balls should be a fast-paced high-action trick. This is done great with multiple climaxes. 10/10 would recommend
Ohhh my am I ever studying cups and balls now! Such a classic and great performance!!
Awesome performance! I have to say this is one of the best ever.
that was the best cups and ball trick i have seen amazing
Wow. I'm in awe. Cups and balls surrounded by a live audience and do a lot of different tricks one after another. It's amazing how much practice he must have put in. Wow!
This is just perfect, I love everything about it.
Fantastic!! So much fun to watch!
He is amazing!

Look up master pain, rub a dub dub cups and balls. He does it to.
The penny load finale was invented and created for mendoza by Steven Paul Carlson of Minneapolis, MN
Un esecuzione talmente perfetta e pulita, da sembrare un miracolo… 😳
Mendoza is behind one of the all time best Cups and Balls, period. Ricky Jay may have the only other comparably solid routine. This is absolutely gorgeous.
Well done!!! Great performance!!! 5 stars!!!
Awesome cups and balls performance. I was blown away by the pennies. Didn't see that coming at all.

It's called sleight of hand dude. The cups are just props.
HOLY JESUS CHRIST i didnt expected all those ends xD he's so awesome, had to watch the video twice to see when he do the things
Very very nice!! The girl at his right is very nice too :D

That was Beast!
Yes, I have the exact method to how he did it. I found out by buying his dvd My Best volume 2.

Why not buy the dvd and learn it the proper way. He teaches this routine very thoroughly.
My Best Volume 2 by John Mendoza

thats a great routine and a great way to end it
Master At his Craft

This is a great routine. Anyone know what DVD this is on?
Does anybody know what type of cups he's using?
The Bret Sherwood cups! Nice!
My Best volume 2 by John Mendoza
i like the right to left thing that was cool
I'm not surre but that will make a sound and hơ can he do it so fast. At 3:55 he used only one hand to load coin right ?
Nice concept
He teaches the routine piece by piece. Volume 2 is where you want to find this routine.
But how he load the coin without any sound at all.And it really hard to load it,i have try
than how does he do that because i hav no clue lol?
the bloond one is hooot man
I like his style, shy and non-pretentious.
@DazzlingDoudini Not sure, but from here they look like Brett Sherwood cups.
pretty cool
Das Supertalent Halbfinale
Leider nicht in Finale du kannst gut gemachen
Danke schön
agreed
for all you budding magicians , to help in the art of misdirection always have a beautiful blonde with gorgeous legs sitting next to you. Joking aside , awesome routine !

That was clever!
Nice
how does he even do it at 0:34? he's not even palming the ball, da hell?
@magikrn you realize its just four balls and the final loads were good but literally anyone can do this with a week of practice
That was really good! A bit of fumbling, but other wise great!
How on earth does he do it at 0:28.
Focus on his left hand
such a good trick!!! 5*****
Cool. :)
very basic tricks right till the end. but very nice finish!
@heelfan1234

Yeah, Whats her number?
ahhhh i saw him putting more red balls under the cups from 2:25-2:29
Yeah, saw it too. But shout it out : ( ?
Rip
all i liked was the girl on d right
See 4:14 and 4:15 he gets rid of the plastic bag or device :) under the table.
sense / cents ... clever ! :]
at 0:32 you can see him throw the red ball in his lap
@Nmaley101 you realize that not only are you wrong but that you are ruining it for everyone?
It's difficult to perform. But it's not that difficult to see what he's doing.
that's the magic of the sleight, no one could see it, if they can, then the magician is doing something wrong
at least
yea, magic looks very simple once you know the secret, but the real magic is how you actually perform it now you know the secret, which requires years of practice

You can buy this trick with plastic cups in a toy magic set, it's nothing special.
@karazh lol learn the very first trick in magic when you think something is slow make it slower then make it even slower
the girl in the white to the right of HIM is definitley more attractive thn the girl in the red
I highly doubt that
i understand these bigballs but that misdirection :O
My apologies :)
Girl on the left in the short skirt.
Amazing performance. The blonde to his left though is annoying, lol her laugh at 2:46
professional auidence members.
It bugs me so much that he is constantly reaching under the table.
lolhahaha
Post your routine.

😢He should not be allowed to use magic and pretend that it's just really good sleight-of-hand when in fact he's using real magic to fool people!😮
the short skirt lady is the main missdirection of the trick :D
Well performed, but the girls have to be dumb not to c him take the loads from that angle......
Raj.
Das Supertalent
Du bist weiter in Halbfinale
@tk201299 Not even close
i think i no that chick on the rite
I hate how the first guy is so cocky
TWO GIRLS THREE CUPS

🎉 I had to come back and give this guy a thumbs-up I forgot to give it to him the first time I saw this video and HE CLEARLY DESERVES IT!
