this is the problem with track in the us ,after getting momentum from a widely watched netflix series and a great oly,you have a marquee race with oly medal winners in it and you cant watch this race on tv in the states. really hope this michael johnson league can remedy this

i find it amusing that Thompson was drawn again next to Kerley, other than the Olympics final all his other races where he has won he never had anyone worthwhile beside him and once he got out the blocks there was only space on either side so he could relax and run, in the final Kerley went stride for stride with him and i reckon that unnerved Thompson and his lack of dealing with big race pressure showed itself and he ran tight, that being said to be able to run a 9.79s tight is seriously impressive, i think he is still on a little bit of a downer after Paris and needs to work on his mental game and when that happens he will burn thru everyone, if he can work it out that is
This race was definitely not crazy especially given the great wind conditions, there were better performances at this meet but it was great to watch nonetheless!!!

Plus Lyles had asthma as a kid and I know when I was afflicted with asthma it impacted heavily on my track performances. I can’t imagine asthma and Covid and still a Bronze medal against the fastest field in 2024.

He had an awful reaction time and tightened up after not catching Kerley easily. So I reckon he could have gone 0.1 faster in that very race.

Don't race expecting to win. Just focus on running your best.
Have some confidence and fun - two most important things. If you go out and run without confidence then you've lost

I think it's because the 60 is an actual race. Also, splits are usually measured in 20m intervals. I also think they finish their drive phase by 60m.
