They always collapse but don't die. Authoritarianism is born with democracy, out of the same human body. We give them different names as if they are two different things. I feel so lost today looking at how one of the biggest democracies on earth is responsible for the suffering of so many other countries. Those countries are full of people like you and me, innocent children at the mercy of their circumstances. So one person's "democracy" is another's genocide. We add too much value to a word and not it's actions. The "authoritarianism" we used to despise is building bridges, roads and ports in different countries right now. The democracy everyone idolizes is actively killing people all over the world as we speak. I have no point, I'm just sad. May everything we wish on others come to our homes first

im no authoritarian but this is ideological soup. was all of human history between the fertile crescent and the 1900s a fluke? i mean even today huge swathes of the human population live on land that hasnt been democratic since the dawn of agriculture. it would be like saying we stopped direct return foraging because its worse at providing for us, it works fine for many tribes to this day, and early agriculture was easily worse for quality of living.
