Thanks for this, I requested this for a long time, JASON DY was a Grand Champion of The Voice Philippines under Sarah Geronimo's Team. JAY R the R&B king in the Philippines too, Thanks and God bless
This collaboration is AMAZING. I don't get tired of listening to and watching this. These artists are from different generations (Jaya born 1970, Jay R born in 1981, and Jason Dy born in 1990), but all you see and hear here is mutual respect and joy and fun.
Hey Guys Jaya has been in the music business since she was twelve years old, her mother is a famous comedian entertainer that left the Philippines and took her to America for a great career. Jaya is a mentor for all of the R&B artists, dear friends with KZ and Regine Velasquez. She started her career by being the go-to cover of Anita Baker. 💕
Telegram singer is an appropriate idiom for explaining it in English, but the phenomenon in the Philippines goes back to before telegrams were a thing. When a young man courts a girl by serenading outside her window, he isn't always the singer, he might have people with him to do the singing and the guitar. He might be the one to recite poetry, though.
Love this reaction!💯 Jaya is our Queen of Soul through out the years but still master her falsetto and master power belting never gets old..J-R is grew up in Us and introduce RNB in phil🇵🇭 So much talent ❤️ Proud to be GkD fam More of Subscribers❣️
Jaya is Philippines Queen of Soul guy on the left is Jason Dy and guy on the right is Jay R Philippines king of RnB. You guys should really check out their individual interviews with Waleska Herrera a lot of your questions on how the music industry here and in the US for Filipinos will be answered.
Finally, you're reacting to this trio!!! They come from 3 different generations of Rn'B/Soul in the PH! L-to-R: Jason Dy (pronounced DEE), Jaya, Jay R Guitarist: Macoy Portado (also performed with KZ in The Singer - "Say Something")
Finally, you've noticed Jay-R. He's really, really good too. Soulful modern sound. 🥳 Yes, there's just sooooooo much musical talent in the Philippines in and out of the professional music industry past and present. For sure future too. You've barely scratched the surface. 😊 Thanks for the love, always!
That was amazing...i think that the guitarist is the same guy who accompanied KZ when she joined the singing competition in China...KZ personally requested him to join her...a few days before her performance... consider also the duet of Daryl Ong & Kyla...and Yeng, KZ, Kyla their smash in Wish Bus...
JR grew up in the US but moved to the Philippines when his (and his band’s) music submitted to a producer was initially liked by the producer but later on rejected when the producer learned he is Asian. jaya, as you said, was in the US before she found her singing career in the Philippines. I believe she is now back in the US when pandemic hit and ABS-CBN was closed (bec of issues related to politics and other legal matters). jason was the winner for 2nd Season, the Voice Philippines I am thankful you found our gems at last, and thank you for your intelligent reactions (intelligent bec you have the technical knowledge and experience that go with your spoken comments about our music and our talents). Thanks for loving our talents. More power to GKD ❤
Yes, Jaya had a career here in the US back in the late 80s. She was part of the “freestyle” music scene and collaborated with Stevie B, a legend in freestyle music! JR also is from the US, growing up in LA. He left for the Philippines in his 20s to chase his musical dreams, where he’s been ever since. The guitarist, Makoy Portado is KZ’s close friend and collaborator on many of her “iconic” hits! Makoy is the guitarist in KZ’s iconic “Say Something” performance on Singer 2018.
Which you gotta gotta watch, Josh and Lucas! Yae Family will tell you the back story to KZ’s performance with guitarist Makoy of Say Something on The Singer
Have been waiting for this reaction! Thanks. I know you love Gigi so I know you'll love her cover of this same song. She really puts her own spin on it. MAGICAL ❤
You can see more of her skills and flexibility on her songs performed live on the wish bus "hanggang dito na lang" and "Kasalanan ko ba" . You can check them out. You'll be more amazed at her ability but I think it's the soul she puts into every song that makes her outstanding that's why she's the Asia's Queen of Soul in the music industry. She's one of the best artists for me on and off the stage for me. One of a kind.
I think the most important thing that you have learned about Filipino artists is that they never stop learning. This is not Jaya's kind of song but she learned it.
Love their rendition of this song! Gigi De Lana also sang this song, so good! Pls check it out. Btw the best singing contest in the Philippines called TNT, just declared a winner, Lyka Estrella. Incredible talent!
I love your reaction! I’m glad you reacted to this and yeah, this kind of music is wanted in the Philippines. We are big on family and we grew up listening to the music of our parents so this type of music kind of never dies. Artists in the Philippines like “copying” the original artist perfectly enough to make the song their own when they finally do the covers. And when they make it their own, they do the song in these complicated arrangements. The more difficult the better 😂 We love music. And music is also kind of our refuge for all the hardships we experience as a people. Thank you again for reacting to this!
This was my request few weeks or month ago ... Thank u thank u for this reaction video... And thank u for the appreciation to our Filipino artists... ❤❤❤
Philippines' R&B Prince to being hailed as the new King of RNB here, there's no doubt that JayR's reign in the world of R&B ... Jay R, is a Filipino-American singer, songwriter, record producer, actor and model. In 2003, he released his debut album, Gameface, under Universal Records...
Jaya is one of the singers who has a very wide range that she can hold her own in the low range while her duet partners deal with the high parts. She made singing low notes cool and she can still go to the high notes when she wanted no problem.
I am a Filipino grandma and I like watching and listening to you on your cahsnnel. You’re soo funny and I like it. The way you ‘f dissect’’ a performer and their song is awesome and I admire you two for that. And I love to hear that you like Filipinos and my beloved country, the PHILIPPINES. GOD bless you two and your family. 🙏🙏👍👍
Thank you for pointing out the visuals vs audio. It was weird when I saw that one split second of mismatch. But this remains to be one of my favorite covers.
I missed watching Jay R, he is one of the singers I grew up to. I personally love whenever he would duet with Kyla, they were Prince and Princess of rnb back then, but now they are dubbed the king and queen of rnb. Hope to see you react to the 2 of them soon. 🎺🔑
🎺🔑 Thank you so much for this reaction! Jaya is called the Queen of Souls and it really needs no explanation why. Her voice is amazing! She also has a performance on the wish bus titled, Hanggang Dito Na Lang. She was awesome there as always! 😊
I'm so ignorant with the technicalities of music. I'm learning a lot in this channel. Thank you for discussing the nitty gritties of making music. I love listening to music but I really have so much to learn about it and how so gs are really made.
🎺 🗝️ All four of them are not just talented, they are also very nice persons. When you do your podcast, do interview them. They have so much to say about their musical journey.
Great strip down harmony version. Well done people. For a live band accompanied version, take a listen to the GiGi Vibe sultry soulful smoky rendition which has garnered almost 7 million views till date. Cheerios lads
Hi @GidKidDad, a separate podcast seems nice, BUT, I totally enjoy you both talking to each other and discuss whatever it is under the sun. You are fun to watch… I think a lot of us appreciate that from both of you too since your subscribers are increasing… just sharing my thoughts. Have a great day!
There is a weekly (Sundays) noontime variety musical show which featured a segment called "Soul Sessions" before. The show was called ASAP (All-out Sundays Afternoon Presentation). It has been reformatted and the segment is no longer running. "Soul Sessions" ran from 2018-2020. It featured Jay-R, Kyla, KZ Tandingan, Daryl Ong and Jason Dy. You can still view their performances here in TH-cam for your viewing and listening pleasure. Just FYI. Thanks for your reactions guys.
Always watching your reactions guys to our kabayan singers.....thank you so much.keep safe always..hoping both of you will do more reactions in the future... especially Carl Malone Montisido... he's a blind singer....
❤❤❤Dang, dang, dangggggg...... Their SOOO gooood.... ❤❤❤ Josh and Luke you're doing a good job here.... More more luck and projects for you guys in the future.... I do not wish because I know they are coming.....
Jason Dy (Dy pronounced like the letter D) won the voice philippines where Sarah G. was his mentor. Kindly react to his blind audition. It was an amazing performance. Thanks.
Thanks for this, I requested this for a long time, JASON DY was a Grand Champion of The Voice Philippines under Sarah Geronimo's Team.

The guitarist is the one who accompanied KZ's performance of Say Something in the Singer competition. Love Jaya.

Jaya is a mentor for all of the R&B artists, dear friends with KZ and Regine Velasquez. She started her career by being the go-to cover of Anita Baker. 💕
Hi to both of you, Jason Dy and Morissette Wishbus duet "DIYAN BA SA LANGIT". Thanks so much ❤
Jayson was the Grand Winner of the Voice Philippines Season 2. He used to work as a telegram singer where you can hire him to serenade someone.
Its HaranaPh. You can still watch the old videos of Jason Dy serenading people.
Love this reaction!💯

JASON DY IS PHIL. PRINCE OF RNB ❤
The guitarist is Makoy who plays with KZ and who KZ called last minute to perform Say Something on The Singer competition.
Finally, you're reacting to this trio!!! They come from 3 different generations of Rn'B/Soul in the PH!
L-to-R: Jason Dy (pronounced DEE), Jaya, Jay R

🎺🔑 thanks for your reaction to Jaya, Jay-R & Jason...they really are one of the best in the music industry here in the Phils👏👏👏
Jaya was the first Filipina recording artist to chart Billboard Hot 100.
They sound so silky smooth! Love this! Hey recognize the guitar player for KZ! Love the brother and sisterhood that these artists share. ❤️
Finally, you've noticed Jay-R. He's really, really good too. More talents here in the likes of Lani Mesalucha, Kyla & Juriz. They’re equally great!
Yes, Jaya had a career here in the US back in the late 80s. She was part of the “freestyle” music scene and collaborated with Stevie B, a legend in freestyle music!

Yes I agree

Jaya’s mom is a singer too. Her mom is like Tina Turner in the Philippines.
"was" 🙏
Have been waiting for this reaction! Thanks. I know you love Gigi so I know you'll love her cover of this same song. She really puts her own spin on it. MAGICAL ❤
Great reaction, gents..I would like to request "Diyan Ba Sa Langit" by Jayson Dy and Morissette in Wish Bus.
Jaya was considered an R&B queen in the Philippines in my opinion in the 90s
no, she's queen of soul. Kyla was the queen of RnB.
The blend and vocal acrobatics are so out of this world and it’s kind of sweetest euphony to my ears and to whosoever hears it. Impeccable harmony!
She is Jaya, Her mother is a great singer also.A superstar, also a recording star.
Officially Missing You by Gigi de Lana is mesmerizing as well

you two really have a heart for music ❤
Now you can also react to Jay R and Kylas duets, the philippines king and queen of RNB hehehe
I think the most important thing that you have learned about Filipino artists is that they never stop learning.
This is not Jaya's kind of song but she learned it.
🎺🔑 thank you for Analyzing this MV. I enjoyed watching your RV. Kindly continue making amazing videos. 💙
