Yes Josh, you reading filipino words is getting even better. I bet you didn't know that you were the 1st foreign reactor who read SB19's ILAW correctly. 😊I was truly amazed.
Here is the English Translation of "Wala Na Bang Pag-Ibig? " Is there no love Can I stand alone If I lose you How would I admit it Your kiss and embrace I couldn't think anymore if there's tenderness in it
Without you by my side, The love and courting we had before, surely, won't come back Will we let these all go
Is there No love in your heart And you won't need it The love that never ends before How are the things going so far?
Can I stand alone if you are not already there and I won't see you anymore How is the night when I remember you Where will I go?
is there no Is there no love Thanks again for showcasing OPM...Cheers: American-Filipino here on the West Coast of the USA.👌👌😁😁👍👍😎😎
Jaya did subtle changes to the chords, and definitely a slower speed to the original in which she also sang. I love Jaya since she came into the scene back here in the US in the late 80's singing 'club music' ( If You Leave Me Now - her hit song ) She hung out with Stevie B, Lisa Lisa, and all the popular 'club' artists until she came back to the PH in the 90's.
Hello, I don’t hardly often comment on TH-cam or social media but I’ve appreciated so much your support of our Filipino talents across the board. I am a high school teacher, teaching English as a second language to immigrant students into the United States. Basically, I am anEnglish language teacher. I live in the United States now, but I grew up in the Philippines, so I’m truly bilingual in English and Tagalog. Few years back, I happened to explore Rosetta Stone as a language program, and I might say that it was quite impressed with the Tagalog version. A very step-by-step, scaffolded way of learning the language. Where is your own ideas of how you can each learn and the way you like to learn plus Rosetta Stone language program as a partner, I believe you would progress quite quickly and beautifully in learning this gorgeous language. I wish you the best, with your move to the Philippines, and your continued support of the Philippine talents. let me know, I’d be happy to zoom with you if you have any questions, or would like any practice in the language. For free! As my show gratitude for your support of the Philippines!
I have a privileged to watch her live on her mini concert here in Memphis and definitely it was worthy shes not only musical genius but also hilarious as well .shes so talented and i was so happy i was able to see her live
Hello! ❤ Jaya is one of my favorite singer😍 She just had a concert here in California last Sunday. I think she and family are living here again in the US 👍
⛺🛢️ Jaya's vocal is unpredictable like her note/key is just straight or in the middle then even it's one word it quickly slides down or up one key/octave the next moment. Her singing style/technique is just so unique aside from her vocal tone.
I l❤ve Jaya. She's "Asia's Queen of Soul". Her renditions and her songs are pure soul. I watched her live and she's even better! She's also very humble and a good soul
This is a classic in the Philippines. This song has been played in every house and hut of the Filipinos. The song is so big. You know when the song is so familiar to people, and heard somewhat a change or two to what's used to be is just awesome. Jaya is such a phenomenal artist to pull this rendition off from 1 to 10.
So excited for your move to the Philippines. And when you have a great voice, I don’t have to understand what she’s singing about. I feel it all over my body. Thank you guys for beautiful music. Love from Great Grandma ❤️❤️👵🏼
The guitar player is called Makoy. Any Filipino's can tell us the surname here. He is a guitarist of Kaysee Tandingan. You should connect with him. He did an interview with Waleska Herrera. He is nice
Jaya is that type of musician/singer/performer who literally mastered her craft. She's at the point where she got nothing to prove anymore...so she can just "play"... But then, she's always been like this back in the day. Now, that I think about it more, I think it's probably also the reason why she's the only one in her vocal category in their time...even now.
This cover has a different take from the original arrangement, which she also sang in late 1990s. Regarding your comment about cebu where quality Guitars are from (alegre I think is the brand), Cebu is about an hr away from Manila by plane. By big boat (small ship maybe), I don't know how long. We also have another brand of guitar made in Pampanga brand is Lumanog. I am not sure though if it has the same fine quality as the one from cebu but Lumanog is also a popular brand in Luzon.
Jaya always performs with all her own passionate way.she not exactly sings in detailed notes😅🎼thats her style.there’s always surprise patterns 🤭😜🇵🇭🎤💃🏻thank you to both you for appreciating Pilipino Talents❤😇😇🙏🏻🙏🏻🤗
I appreciate that Jaya has revised a new version of her song and added more soul on its new acoustic feel. However, I still like the original version which made us blue and cry most of the time before, and even every time we come listen to it in the radio. Hehehehe
⛺️🪣 there is no watering can. 😂 Anyways, Shoutout to the Guitarist Macoy... you've done several reactions already with him being the guitarist. Having him guest in your podcast like/interview, you can share your interest a lot. That would be interesting. As for Jaya, I think you can also reach her she migrated to the U.S. already... I would love to watch you interview her.
Jaya is really awesome specially when Regine and her are doing collabs… Yes ilaw means light it’s about SB19 being in the spotlight but not doing things their way instead with someone else’s way
This version is very different from the original version.. it is Jaya's original song and its really a beautiful song that most of the Filipino tried to sing it.. but this one is much complicated version.. If you can check also Kyla, you will also amazed by her God given voice
While most of face & neck of singers seems like struggling while singing, I found its one of technique that while singing, their body absorbs the stress or heaviness of the notes, but they releases a soft, whether light or heavy sound of voice, and its pleasant to ears especially when my eyes are away from the singer. Singers sounds better when they are matured, their primes, and slows down after that.
@@vlogsfavorsphileco8788 I was a big Jaya fan and this was how she sang it in the 90s...national anthem namin dati ito sa office.. th-cam.com/video/yWyKHxYsaOw/w-d-xo.html
struggling?? that's her voice's unigue character and her style and her conveying emotions... I don't understand what you mean, even josh and lucas didn't talk about her struggling..they say it when they notice such.. so what do you mean??? (ahhh..i think i get it.. you were referring to her singing Wala na bang Pag-ibig in the original version. she changed it in this version..this is a more jazzy version thus chords and notes are darting off towards many and different directions..she's not struggling.)
She changed the rhythm of this song, but I can't entirely agree with you when you say she's struggling. It's her style, and she got way better now she's only playing with the chords.
I remember that even old comedy acts in philippines would feature a guitarist in a skit or just randomly play random notes on the side playing the bgm for what's taking place on the skit. And there's also the wooing tradition called harana where the guy sings for his lover accompanied by a guitarist. Just now I realized that guitar playing is big part of the musical culture in the philippines, if people think there are many great vocalists from ph, there are also many guitarists here who plays like they are singing thru it.
If you watch KZ Tandingan's version of Say Something on The Singer, that's her guitarist, Macoy. She had prepared a song but was changed by the organisers at the last minute so she asked Macoy to fly to China at the last minute. It was magic.
Lucas, the "silent" guitar solves the guitar sound bleeding into the vocalist's microphone specially if they are sharing the same space with no noise separation. Plus, the "silent" guitar (Yamaha makes them) has a piezo pickup so it can amplify the inherent acoustic sound.
I’m sooo excited for when you start learning Tagalog! It’s one of my native languages so I didnt think much about it but when i was in grad school for Applied Linguistics, we had an entire session devoted to Tagalog morphology. There was a whole chapter on it in the textbook. It’s one of the 10% of all languages that use a Verb-Subject-Object pattern in sentence construction and the breadth of our system of affixes (prefixes, suffixes, and infixes) is not for the faint of heart. My absolute favorite is the ka- affix that changes a word to indicate the action is shared between participants, reflecting the social aspect of our culture. Our sense of community is ingrained in how we form our words and I find it pretty. You also did a great job in that Lani Misalucha video when you said: Ma-ma-ha-LIN (verb, to love), stress in the last syllable because it would have a different meaning if you put the stress in second to the last syllable: Ma-ma-HA-lin (adjective, expensive.) Another example: laLAki - man/male LAlaki - to grow (Ang) lalaKI - big in size It’s the same in the words in English: OB-ject (noun) vs. ob-JECT (verb) PRE-sent (noun) vs. pre-SENT (verb) Just pointing it out because it happens more often in Tagalog than English. Anyway, sorry for geeking out on you. But it’s really quite exciting ♥️ congrats on the move!

Okay, I'll comment gain --- FILIPINOS Sing with their HEARTS - it all comes from the HEART - we don' care if it doesn't sound perfect. Yes the guitar chord choices you pointed added to the "mood color" of this take. BTW, have you heard Jaya's rendition of Kenny Rankin's Hiding Inside Myself th-cam.com/video/wx6tdZ-W97M/w-d-xo.html
I feel that you'll learn the Filipino language easily as you immerse yourself in the community. Hmm, here's a tip... Filipino language uses short vowel sounds. And most of the time, the words are normally, spell as you pronounce...except of course the "NG" sound.

Search Kuh Ledesma has this soft melody in her way in singing....she is in Jaya, Regine, and Lani era.

You guys are the best reactors in youtube!
Love the old version, but her ability or her voice nailed it. 👏👏👏👏
Lanie jaya and regine they are the most powerful voices❤

If you could please check out her cover of ILYSB - th-cam.com/video/FG6mUx7GV4M/w-d-xo.html - She's playing the guitar while singing. Nothing fancy, just her and her raw talent. A multi talented and multi awarded performer, Julie is known to be the Asia's Limitless Star. Thank you
Try her original version to compare each version, if you may..
