Thankyou! This is so helpful!! ♡ speaking of fursuit horror stories, here's an extremely scary one for you, with a good lesson at the end: I had a friend not too long ago go to the park here in florida. It was the first time he wore his fursuit in florida, because before this month he lived up in Pennsylvania, which is rather cold. His husky fursuit is about two years old and he had commissioned a man up in his hometown to make it. (it was very well made, but the inner head foam was cheap) Well, it was about 90 degrees, and we were making sure to get water every now and then, as normal. But after about half an hour, my friend could not remove the head of his fursuit. He also told me he had a burning sensation that was growing at his neck, and when I tried to remove his head for him (I thought it was because his arms were weak) We found out that whatever foam was used in the head had melted into the fur, locking the bottom layer of fur to the actual suit. Long story short we had to get someone in there to (sadly) cut his fursuit to get him out of it. He got out with only Minor burns, because he had been wearing a thin hoodie underneath his suit because of how uncomfortable the head was fitted. Goes to show all of you CHECK WHAT FOAM IS USED IN YOUR HEAD BEFORE GOING SOMEWHERE WITH HIGH HEAT!!!!!!!
Thank you for telling this story! Im a new fursuit maker that is in florida and this is really helpful, and with how hot it is (it is baiscly a oven, and it is only spring) ill be sure to watch the type of foam I use, and i feel really bad for the melted suit.
I've had kids hitting my but, punching me and punching the suit. And just people dont wanna leave me. I went to the toilet once when fursuiting, and the kids were banging on the door and trying to open it. Like I was at the toilet! I didn't have any handler, so I just took of my head and told them no. XD My worst fursuit excperience!

Also, I will ECHO the “we can’t see/hear/feel” so please don’t let your costumed friend run into things! Shove as much water at them as you can! Also remind them to EAT!! I've never been fur suiting in public but this is super helpful! I will definitely send this to my sister if I go fur suiting in public and ask her to be my handler. Love your videos! 💙
Luckily my sister is my spotter, so yeah she pretty much know, what I want to tell her. We have some hand sighns like "I need a drink." and "I need a break."
Raven Cyre You just need a fursuiter to ask you to be their handler, really! Nothing complex or anything, just ask them something along the lines of "Hey, I hear you're going to ! Did you need a handler for it? Because if so, I'm happy to help!"
Me walking along in my fursuit at a convention* Random person: there's a kid!!!! Every fursuiters stops* The people that didn't hear the person scream : why did everyone stop moving?
My son sent me this video and as a parent, you're advice is pretty common sense and i like it :) Truth is, it's like going on an outing with your kids and remembering to pack everything you will need for that outing and dealing with other people as needed if there's a situation.... Any parent should do this, lol but it applies very well to the furry community to :) Love your suit by the way, it's my fave color
That thing about heat stroke is good for regular cosplayers to know too! Someone I knew who was in a very light cosplay had actually passed out at a convention because they weren't drinking, but five seconds before they were running up and down the hallways full tilt! ALWAYS be sure to water your friends!
I think that first, you should be a handler and then start thinking about being a suiter, because being a handler can teach you about level one fur suit care. It will also teach you about responsibility. I am currently looking for one of my friends that are a furry and need a handler sometimes, I am training and collecting gear for that day. I get taught about diabetics because my best friend is a type one. If I become a handler, and they show any of these signs, or pass out, I kinda want to learn how to get a suit off as quick as possible while putting little damage on the suit and human inside.
A few days ago actually, I was suiting. I was at a non-furry event with some others who understood what a fursuit is. It was called a "cosplay prom" and it was for teens. I was there just suiting around, and I decided at that event I would talk, since I didn't have a designated handler. Some teen comes up behind me and hugs me. I immediately turned around and told him off. BIG TIME. I said, "You dont just come up behind someone and start hugging them do you? My vision is EXTREMELY impaired and I cannot see past a certain point!" I said more but i was so angry I forgot what all I said. But I did show him my vision. And since I cant wear my prescription lenses (and dont have contacts) under my suit, I was pretty much blind. Later, this same teen tried to pull off my head and I told him off again.
I don't have a handler because my vision is great and they'll never be able to keep up with me XD but this was helpful I will tell my friends about this.
Hey Pocari!! I especially need a handler being that I am fully blind in my right eye, this video is amazing to show people who I want to be my handler, most my friends already know I'm blind in one eye. I've recently been making a Fursuit and it's still being shaped, I've put it on after I've made the eyes and I realised just how blind of be... Anyways, thank you for your videos!!
pocari you're one of my favorite furry youtubers! you're super knowledgeable about suiting. good to see someone with a lot of subscribers giving out some good information. Also, i'm a fursuit maker and i've done a lot of tests with different brushes. i've found that normal round hair brushes work very well, almost better than slicker brushes. they can gently pull mats apart and don't tear out your fur and damage seems. and for short fur (shaven fur or normally short fur like beaver) i find that the best thing to use is a fine-toothed straight comb. short fur doesn't get nearly as ruffled up and unruly like long fur does, so you don't need a huge brush to go pulling out non-existant tangles. i find it actually tends to do more harm than good (as well as leaving dumb looking streaks in the fur instead of smoothing it). the straight comb is gentle on short fur and does wonders for smoothing and styling fur, even long fur. so if you're in need of sprucing yourself up for a fursuit photo, use a straight comb!
You now have my favorite video for showing new handlers that want some tips. Thank you! Also something that absolutely drives me nuts. When handlers think they have to hold your hand to do their job. I don't know if it's just me but every handler I've ever had has tried this with me. It is very awkward. Always ask your suiter if they want to be guided this way before just grabbing their hands.
I’ve tripped over so many roots bc for one it was night Two it was Halloween And Three my handler was my friend and just wanted candy so she didn’t rlly help me that night although she said she would She didn’t....
Awesome job on this video Pocari Roo and this videos very helpful and can provide Handler safety tips. Well I'm not sure how long it will be for me to become a fursuiter so I'll do and learn all I can from these tips Excellent work on this Pocari Roo 💙
Before watching expectation: Diet Bodyguard After watching: Bodyguard Still sounds fun tho, gives people reasons to use their duffel bags and body rigs. lol For a note on what a "Body Rig" is: A body rig is a system to attach to a person (Usually Cameramen, Actors, or Stuntmen) that allows them to attach various mechanisms to them, the most common being a Wire Rig or a Camera Rig (For things like First Person camera angles.) and Camera rigs can even have a gimble attached to them for some silky smooth movement.
I went public suiting a while ago and some guy who had 2 or 3 kids with him walked past me BUT the guy didn’t pass me he was behind me to scare me and he scared the HECK out of me I was legit about to take my head off and lose my mind at him but the guy walked away and laughed I was MAD I crossed my arms and stared at him I think he realized he messed up I’m going public suiting again in like 2 days I’ll let my handeler know ahead of time that it isn’t okay
I’ve been a handler for a couple public suiters, just because I’ve offered it. I saw someone push a furry to the ground and I stepped in and knocked the drunk down. The cops were called and they were arrested.
I really do like your videos, you're real about this sorta shit and you don't sugar coat it like I've seen a few other TH-camrs do, I've noticed it multiple times and I respect it. Keep up the amazing work here 👍
Thanks for making this! My best friend is going to go on an outing with her suit soon, and I'm going as her handler. She showed me this video, and it gave me a better idea of what I would be doing. It was super helpful!!!
My first fursuiting experience was this years Halloween. I was out for 3+ hours and my dad wasn't listening to me when I told him I'm over heating and I don't feel well. I felt like I was genuinely going to vomit or pass put so I HAD to take the partial off and felt much better. I have asthma so I genuinely could have died. It was fun and everyone loved me but it wasn't the best experience. Thankfully my next experience will be MFF. (If there's spelling mistakes sorry I'm in suit rn preparing for MFF)
4:04 you can also get a brush with rubber spikes on them, for me it doesn’t pull any fur out. I cannot guarantee that results will be the same with your fursuit though.

I can see straight through yooou~ x3
THAT GREEN SCREEN OMG I GOT SO SCARED FOR A MINUTE! Also, very great and informative video!
4:44 "Cup your eyes around your hands"
How- my eyes can't do that-
That thing about heat stroke is good for regular cosplayers to know too!
Old Spiritcat YOU HAVE TO CUT THE SUIT IF THEY PASS OUT!!!! I know it's hard, but you MUST.
I can't stop noticing how the green stripe on your rainbow shirt chromakey'd, it's so funny!
Also, great video as always!
1. remove head.
2. beat them into the ground with it.
@@OddityAutopsy that will only work if the head has a resin mask. Otherwise you're just slapping them with a glorified pillow
@@wonderlandartwork3579 suffocate them with it then XD
I don't have a handler because my vision is great and they'll never be able to keep up with me XD but this was helpful I will tell my friends about this.
"You need a backpack, the bigger the better"
So you can hide the body when the heat stroke sets in?
The real question
absolutely. can't ruin the 'magic' XD
:)
Pocari: Sit down
Me: *already sitting*
Pocari: SHUT UP

I subscribed and I hit that notification bell button because you're awesome

Luis The Turquoise Cat Ya mean PAWsome?!
Anyways, thank you for your videos!!
lol your green rainbow piece blent in with the back stage
Kiatsu Chan It does 😂
It would be AWESOME if someone would make famous fursuiters funko pop😂
I think funko sells blanks, so you can just get some Apoxie Sculpt or a good air dry clay, Acrylic paints and make one yourself :D
this is very helpful :) awesome video! keep up with the amazing work! I love you so much Pocari!
Thank you so much for this my friend wants to be my handler more then anything. So this helped us out because we’re beginners at this kind of stuff!
pocari you're one of my favorite furry youtubers! you're super knowledgeable about suiting. good to see someone with a lot of subscribers giving out some good information.
"You have no peripheral vision when wearing a fursuit"
Proto/Primagens: I have no such weaknesses.
Imagine pocari wearing a totally green shirt.
I like how the green is now clear it made my day and that I for the information
I’ve tripped over so many roots bc for
one it was night
Two it was Halloween
And Three my handler was my friend and just wanted candy so she didn’t rlly help me that night although she said she would
She didn’t....
Awesome job on this video Pocari Roo and this videos very helpful and can provide Handler safety tips. Well I'm not sure how long it will be for me to become a fursuiter so I'll do and learn all I can from these tips Excellent work on this Pocari Roo 💙
I'm EARLY! *quietly cheers*
I was at the park today and saw multiple people in fur suits with handlers which was cool
I showed this to my handler and she did great!
This was very helpful! My friend just asked me to be her handler for a convention tomorrow and this gave me lots of good information. Thank you!!!
When I go to my first con in my partial, imma have a shirt that says "I HAVE FREE WATER JUST ASK" and a shirt in my bag for when I run out XD
Before watching expectation: Diet Bodyguard
After watching: Bodyguard
Still sounds fun tho, gives people reasons to use their duffel bags and body rigs. lol
For a note on what a "Body Rig" is:
A body rig is a system to attach to a person (Usually Cameramen, Actors, or Stuntmen) that allows them to attach various mechanisms to them, the most common being a Wire Rig or a Camera Rig (For things like First Person camera angles.) and Camera rigs can even have a gimble attached to them for some silky smooth movement.
also supportive parents of young furs can be a handler
im a young fur and my dad is my fursuit "handler"
That cool..! :0
I usually drink 4 water bottles before I go suiting
Ashley Zorn have you peed yourself yet
@@cockatielfrenzi4769 pft-
@@cockatielfrenzi4769 best comment- but I think there are bathrooms in cons ?
I’ve been a handler for a couple public suiters, just because I’ve offered it. I saw someone push a furry to the ground and I stepped in and knocked the drunk down. The cops were called and they were arrested.
*THERE'S A KID*
I really do like your videos, you're real about this sorta shit and you don't sugar coat it like I've seen a few other TH-camrs do, I've noticed it multiple times and I respect it. Keep up the amazing work here 👍

not early somewhat on time is what your looking for
XD
Thanks for making this! My best friend is going to go on an outing with her suit soon, and I'm going as her handler. She showed me this video, and it gave me a better idea of what I would be doing. It was super helpful!!!
the blue roo has gone gost
Omg I love how the green screen behind her blends with the green on her shirt
I didn't know Pocari was a ghost. (we can see through you because of your green screen and your green stripe on your rainbow shirt.)
This is SO helpful because I am a handler for 2 of my very best friends. Thank you so much pocari!
Pacaroo
Fire resistant fursuits can be a thing :D :D :D
...like 75% sure
So yeah
My first fursuiting experience was this years Halloween. I was out for 3+ hours and my dad wasn't listening to me when I told him I'm over heating and I don't feel well. I felt like I was genuinely going to vomit or pass put so I HAD to take the partial off and felt much better. I have asthma so I genuinely could have died. It was fun and everyone loved me but it wasn't the best experience. Thankfully my next experience will be MFF. (If there's spelling mistakes sorry I'm in suit rn preparing for MFF)
WE NEED GREEN!!!!!
MORE GREEN
"ah cool! wATER" *AGRESSIVELY GRABS WATER BOTTLE*
You're shirt..... I can see through you.... you must be a ghost!
4:04 you can also get a brush with rubber spikes on them, for me it doesn’t pull any fur out. I cannot guarantee that results will be the same with your fursuit though.
Ware a green shirt next time I want to see what happens 😂😂😂
Imagined a floating fursuit head and paws😂
Pfff that would be funny
Very informative! Thanks for uploading Pocari ^_^
you must be in front of a green screen cause I can see right through you
“Well- sit down, shut up, I’m gonna tell you how”
10/10 Pocari right there-
