Hi friends! In todays video I am going to tackle the mess and give you some FALL CLEAN AND DECLUTTER HOME ORGANIZATION motivation! Whew! What a project this was! It took about 3 days to complete but I am so happy with how organized and functional our closet is now. Such a difference! Now I want to organize my entire home using The Home Edit systems! Has anyone else binged watched The Home Edit?? I don't live near a container store so I found affordable ways to organize my home using bins from Wal-Mart, Target, and The Dollar Tree! Me too. I do the best I can with our very small walk-in closet. However, I separate my seasons and rotate them as the weather permits. Also organized by color. I have to share this small closet with my husband. It’s so small, he’s using the spare closet for his sport stuff.

Congratulations. I think it looks great. I was pleased to see someone in my income bracket use Dollar Tree and Walmart items. It is so pleasing to watch all your hard work instead of getting up and doing any myself, lol. Thanks for sharing.
I couldn’t even fill quarter of that walk in wardrobe with my clothes shoes and makeup. I have about 20 outfits at most that I can wear all year round and about 5 pairs of shoes 😂
It’s probably better to have less clothes. I am guilty of having an excess of clothes, shoes, purses, etc, and just finally decided to give it all away and start a capsule wardrobe. I’ve just realized that too much stuff was just stressing me out. I’ve started to eliminate and I can feel myself breathe again!
Kailyn- just a suggestion- I see ur totes r sitting on a vent. take a 3 sided box like a mail slot. Put it over the vent then U can put the totes on top so u can still get airflow in ur closet
I ended up putting the wheels on to boost the totes up after the video-lol thanks for the suggestion!

I have always admired people who have “seasonal” clothing. I have two kinds of clothes. Ones that I would wear outside of the home and ones that I definitely wouldn’t.
Love this. Major organization and decluttering going on in my craft room now, and bedroom closet is next. I have a dressing area that has large closets on 2 walls, and large shelving area on the 3rd wall. I've removed 3 doors and will remove the other 3 to turn it all into a walk-in closet. Size looks to be about the same as yours, with a door to my bathroom. I am single so don't have to share my space so have all kinds of options. Thanks for the ideas on how to proceed.

Just a little tip, if you have enough hangers.. we double up on hangers when we hang jeans so it doesn’t weigh the hanger down so much and warp them! Love the after of the closet!

i love all the stuff you bought. i think we get stuck in thinking we have to spend alot on organizing products from certain stores, but things bought cheaper look just as good and last just as long!

I have a suggestion for hangers.... switch over to the slim line felt hangers. It is unbelievable, how you can get twice as many clothes in your closet. The hangers take up less space. I switched to those, light gray for my clothing & black for my husband. It makes for a very cohesive look.

Wow, your closet looks amazing! I can see that it was a tough job & very time consuming, but so worth it. I've never heard of The Home Edit, but from what I see, I love it. I have those same organizers from Target. One drawer is dedicated to masks for my kids & I.

Loved this Kailyn! What we have done in our closet - we bought a simple white IKEA dresser (ours is the same height as the bottom row and we took a section out and put the dresser in there and the wire shelf comes against it (so it looks more like a built it) I love having drawers and it looks great. Also see if you can add your own shelves behind that door - we used the inexpensive wall brackets and cut our own boards (we stained them) so that they are the perfect size and you can space them as you need - it made a huge difference and looks much nicer - but wasn’t expensive to do

Great job! I feel like I have to do my closet all the time. It’s an ongoing thing! My vanity is in my bedroom and I keep it fairly picked up... but I still got up and found things to straighten and declutter with you! Thanks for the motivation!

On the shoes - if you store them with one pointing in and one out you can see the whole shoe better - really helped me to learn this! On the fishing lure boxes you should be able to pop the lids off and store them under to make them really easily accessible in your drawers. Amazing after :)

You could get a silicone hot pad to put in your bottom drawer for irons. Plus, a mirror between yours and hubby’s clothes would be nice ,or pic of you both , or a Hers & His.

Velvet no slip hangers are THE best! Like you said, more expensive, but worth it! I’ve slowly gotten mine from TJMAXX. Cheapest there by far 👌🏻
I love the look of the velvet hangers but I'm so scared of them leaving bumps on the shoulders of my clothes. Especially sweaters which I think would stretch out hanging up. Do you not have this problem?
@@coleenrich I don’t! I actually bought velvet hangers to avoid this problem. Since the velvet “sticks” to the sweater you can pull the arms up or situate them so that the hanger doesn’t pull and leave a dent

I just (tried) did this as we moved. I went from a large walk-in closet to a mini closet. It is forcing me to decide what I won't wear or doesn't fit (not a bad thing). I envy your space. But great video. and encouraging me to keep going.

Put those drawers on the casters so you are not blocking your vent! Otherwise, you rocked this declutter/reorganization. Looks totally amazing!
