I experienced horrible hair loss as well though i’m still pretty young. I have done 3 sessions of PRP, and it’s been working so well with me. My hair stopped falling out after the second treatment, and it is a lot stronger now with a lot of new hair growing! The only difference is my doctor has a special tool (like a big gun with small needles) to inject the plasma into my head, so it’s not done manually with a syringe like the one here, which definitely makes the whole process a lot less painful. I always describe it like getting tattooed, but on the head cause the machine works kinda similarly to a tattoo gun. Lol. 😂 if price isn’t an issue, i’d definitely recommend PRP. The only downside is this treatment doesn’t give you permanent result, and depending on your hair, you might have to keep doing it though not every month (prob once a year or once every 6 months) as a maintenance.
Have you tried minoxidil? I knoow its advertised only for males but if your female indentifying and experience hair loss, I highly recommend!! Its the most substainable option for treating hair loss imo.
In case anyone is scared of the pain: as someone that gets medical botox shots in that area on a regular basis I can tell you the pain isn't bad. It feels a bit sore afterwards but that passes quickly
Timely, I have my first treatment in November. I've suffered from hair loss for a long time I hope this in combination with other treatments my dermatologist will restore my hair.
I agree that hair loss for women is not take about enough. I hope this works for you. I've had two bouts of it and it is traumatic. I had steroid injections by my dermatologist that were covered by insurance and they really helped. I think one episode was brought on by going on a keto diet and the other by Covid.
I have CCCA (Central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia) and I’ve been on the edge of trying PRP, this video helped me make my decision. I’ll give it a try ❤
I had it along with microneedling and I think that it helped. It was $250 for that small area but $600 for the full temple and forehead. But I’ve seen some Groupons. The spot has filled in considerably. I was also surprised that the laser helmet and Vegamour CBD serum also helped.
I started loosing my hair when I was 15 ( i'm now 23 ) i did a lot of treatments and i found that treating my depression had the biggest impact on my hair. I continue using special shampoos and conditionner and seasonal topical treatments for maintenance. However, I don't want to do PRP because of the price and i know the guilt and sadness that i would feel after i get it done and one of my hairs falls (which i know is normal to have shedding ). It's emotionally tiresome to have to deal with hairloss.
I agree, it's very emotionally tiring. I've read there isn't great evidence for PRP but there's pretty good evidence for microneedling, which luckily is cheaper than the typical PRP which includes microneedling. I've been trying rogaine but it's hard to be consistent. I get it a lot near my temples.
It is, I've been dealing with it for years now :( I didn't quite understand it from your comment, but did you say that treating your depression has improved your hair? Do you mean depression medications or the fact that you are feeling better mentally improves your hair?
@@zeinebtoumi1858 that is amazing information, I'm so happy that it has worked out for you that way. I hope managing my emotions will help improve my hair loss, too!
I have always had fine thin hair. My scalp can be seen through in some areas. When I was younger people (other women) used to bully me about my thin ponytail 😔 I am now 43 and just last week I finished my 4th PRP treatment. The doctor also prescribed a ointment with Rogaine at 7% and other meds that are supposed to be helpful. I hope this works; but honestly I am skeptical as the "true" hair loss cause is not really known 😕
Rogaine has really good evidence. I'd say you're right to be skeptical of PRP, it doesn't have much good evidence but scalp microneedling does have some.
While some treatments might help them amount if hair loss even the type keyword alopecia you might be paying for something that wont work. Regain works but only in saving what you have moment you stop hair gets loss. Also anxiety ed chronic illnesses immune issues birth allot of things effect hair. Even diet and your vitamins. Thats part of the big picture people tend to skip when showing trendy treatments.
There is a young lady that is a blogger and she makes old vintage clothing and studies old shampooing remedies before harsh shampoos. They are clay based from the old days where women grew the hair to there toes. Look for her.
I had this procedure done on my scalp yesterday with an RN nurse and paid only $450 for probably 50 injections. It didn't hurt at first, but the last 15ish injections were almost unbearable! I see this video she is using an ice pack on her scalp :( You are NOT SUPPOSE to do this! Also, you should avoid taking anti-inflammatory medications like Advil (ibuprofen) for at least two weeks before and after a Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injection because they can interfere with the healing process and the procedure's outcome. This girl's dermatologist should have told her this!
sorry but $1000 for a vial of your own plasma? plasma donation centers literally PAY YOU to give them that stuff! I’m a little confused about that price tag.
I think a lovely expensive wig would take the stress of her mind. The mind controls everything and giving your hair and mind some peace, might enhance the growth.
Is 120$ per session actually and after injecting the platelets there is a derma pen used on the scalp to distribute the platelets... you just got ripped off, girl

Does this help with people with Trichotillomania?
@@TheSpecial19 not sure bout that. This treatment helps new hair grow stronger and faster. That’s as far as i know.

Omg diets can really do that to you! I did a prolonged water fast (7 days + 7 days recovery) and 3 months later my hair really started to fall out 😢
I always wondered if this worked. Thanks for this 🙏🏽
You really should have posted this with at least 3 months of updates.
She posted what she wanted to post.
This definitely seems like an emotional journey! You've got all of our support and love 🥰
I've had lots of hairloss for the last couple of years. And for a woman it's really scary. Hair is a part of who we are.

Try microneedling instead. PRP doesn't have much evidence.

Thanks so much for making this video. Definitely dealing with the same thing and considering PRP - this answered a lot of my questions.

You’re not supposed to ice the area after PRP bc apparently it stops the process

Not surprised, PRP really does not have good evidence. Rogaine has great evidence though and the evidence for scalp microneedling is promising.

I end up paying $3600 per treatment in LA but my derm does PRF not PRP.
Was there really no follow-up to this?
Did you have your thyroid checked?

i’m confused why did she take your blood sample you never explained it ?
That's where the plasma comes from
She took a blood sample, put it in a centrifuge to seperate the blood from plasma and injected the plasma into her scalp.
Should I start a go fund me to afford this? 👀
What are the results? This is ridiculous

in what alternative universe are you living in to get it for $120? You must be going to some shady basement unlicensed provider.
She needs to ask the Doctor to help with her dandruff too! Might as well get everything taken care of while she’s getting these treatments.
Needless comment

She is probably having her visit to a cosmetic derm paid for by her employer but not a regular medical visit.
