Michael Wolff nailed it about the Base's relationship with Donald Trump. I couldn't put words to it. They are his fans. When Trump gives a speech, it's almost like he's doing standup comedy to an audience. They go to those speeches because he entertains them. And the more you criticize him, the more they love him.

I am amazed how polite people stay about Murdoch and Trump also this writer Wolf and by staying so polite about these really divisive individuals they can keep carrying out with their poisons messages and in the meanwhile earning a lot of money as well which was their aim in the first place and at least I am happy that some members of the Fox empire do not agree with daddy ! The best thing that could happen is that Trump and Murdoch will destroy each other. That would be define retribution !

Donald Trump is a killer. People died on January 6 because of his treasonous plan to destroy the Capital, threatening to kill the Vice President and Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the House. He wanted to overthrow the Capital to stay in power. He LOVED THE POWER and ATTENTION. His Narcissistic mind thinks that he is ABOVE THE LAW. His mistakes are always someone else’s fault. He is a traitor, a killer, a liar, a thief, a petophile, a seditionist, a cheater at everything he did and said including the truth. He cares about nothing or no one unless it benefits his EGO. Everyone is disposable.

Great podcast today Charlie!! Here is my take on why MAGA supporters love Trump and won't leave his side. Most ppl probably are not going to like my analysis of this issue but I have yet to hear any coherent political commentary that make me believe other wise.A
Around 1860 someone said we need to do something that's has never happened before in history and that is take up arms against our own country. For people to follow that path it must be something very very serious!! Well it was. In a quick nut shell the southern White ppl felt blacks where not equal to whites whole these blacks should be controlled and used as labor for Southern white men by way of ownership which was slavery. These southern men did not want slavery to end in the south so they succeeded from the union and went to war with it's own fellow northern country men. That's a quick version.
So, fast forward to around 2007 here comes a black man who's farther was from Africa (same country the slaves where taken from) decided to run for President and he won. That victory by this black man sparked two fuses in America. The one fuse this man lite was one that showed many white, black, asian and hispanic ppl in America could all come together and elected a person based on his merit and ideas on how he would run our country and not just based on his skin color and race. Which was a beautiful thing to experience! This showed the world that America was the beacon of democracy. But the second fuse that was lite was under the same white southern men who believed America had electing a black man who may not even be qualified to be president because he may not have been born in America. (By the way that started the birther movement which was inflamed by guess who Donald Trump.) Also this first black president signed into law the rights for gays to legally marry which further inflamed these same southern white ppl
Now we move to 2016. We've all known that the southern white supremacist and white supremacist sympathizers have existed in the Republican party for many years and for the first time in their lifetime a sitting President of the United States acknowledged them and called them fine ppl. That's was the day Trump totally took over the Republican party and made it what it is today. In sports they say Legends are only created by their actions in the big game like the super bowl or the NBA Championship. Well being President is the big game and Trump became legendary with the white supremacist wing of the Republican party when we uttered those words "fine people on both sides."
In my opinion the Republican party has always been made up of about 5% to 10% of white supremacist then another 5% to 10% have been white supremacist sympathizer who are being forced to go along to get along with the others. The Justice systems and the FBI did a great job from the late 70's till around 2015 of destroying the infrastructure groups like the KKK these groups morphed into the same type of groups under different names like the oath keepers and the proud boys. Once Trump saw this power structure of the Oath keepers in the proud boys were out there and behind him he harnessed their power to become his military force in America streets. Trump had his DOJ soften there stance against going after these groups. Then Trump would sick these members after anyone who was not being loyal to Trump or who spoke out against Trump. Anyone remember what happened to Lindsey Graham after January 6th and Lindsey Graham said enough is enough he's off the Trump train. Well he was attacked by these group members at the airport. Trump has done this over and over against anybody who has spoken out against him and his court cases every judge accept Cannon in Florida has been attacked by these members with death threats and swatting. These groups are used as a check to keep all Republicans in line that includes family members and friends. Republican Congress members has said this is true because many of them wanted to vote to impeach Trump but they where terrified and feared for the safety of their family so they dare not be vote against Trump. Lastly, we all saw with our own eyes what the Oath Keepers and proud boys did on Jan 6. Nothing more to be said about that day.
Those other issues that many talking head bring up about why Trump supporters won't leave the MAGA movement do exist but the overwhelming factor in my opinion is the fact that they now have a leader that is speaking up for their white supremacist heritage and the Confederate Flag.
The advantage that Trump has had on every Republican candidate he has ever run against is the fact that Trump touched the third rail in politics which was acknowledging white supremacist and making them feel welcomed in America and in the republican party. Every other republican leader has made it well known that the white supremacist type of American is not welcomed in the party but NOT Donald Trump. He welcomed them!! I really wish I could hear a honest breakdown of this from a political analysis and really explained how this has impacted Trump hold on the Republican party when everyone can see he is one of the worst human to ever exist in America.
Sorry for the long take on this but it just start flowing and I just kept typing. Hope someone speaks on this but not holding my breath.

I read your comments with great interest. It has always been my take that there were two large populations in this country, ready and waiting for someone like Trump. The first group are those who would like our country to be as it was when first founded, and that reality was that white men founded this country, and should always control the power. The evolving diversity of this nation has created a great deal of concern with white people about the possible loss of majority white rule. The second group are those in those nation who believe that this should be a Christian nation. Those populations are those that support Donald Trump, and in their mind, their mind, no matter how criminal or sociopathic Trump may be he is their tool to accomplish their goals of creating a Christian white nationalist country.

Very informative interview but why is no one seeing the elephant in the room. Almost every job in America including federal, state, and county along with employment in a private company usually requires basic vetting such as criminal record, employment history, and even a credit check but the one that employers require these days is a drug test. Right? If someone has so much access to top secret info, do they need a drug test? With so much rumors a about certain past president being a decades long abuser of drugs is there a mandatory drug test for this job? And with his behavior why do you seem somewhat confused about why he is so unpredictable and has so many negative personality problems? The top leaders in this country should be routinely drug tested in my opinion. Many of our worlds worst leaders were drug addicts. I vote for drug tests for candidates!

Why did trump keep going after jan 6?
    1. They were coordinated in their multiple efforts so they could keep going
    2. BASED on trump being a marketer. What sells better? "I lost" or "Stop the steal" ... He always markets 'fake' as 'real'. He intentionally markets!

Poor Charlie Rose, once the prestigious seat at the table that kings and queens and former presidents sought an invitation to, now reduced to scraping the bottom of the barrel for yesterday’s leftovers.
I actually met Charlie briefly at a fundraiser in New York, when he was still the hero. In person he is EXACTLY the same as on his show. Suddenly I found myself being interviewed. He is genuinely curious about everyone.
That’s such a loss, that his wonderful show was shut down. Did they take away that round wooden table too?
