    Serious question, how hard would it be for a European to get that €900 a month to live without an address in san Francisco? I'd happily do that for a few months to be able to interview at tech companies there.

    1:03:20 this is exactly the conclusion i drew from having a monarchy and parliament. On the surface it makes sense to be a republic where parliament is the top of the state but the benefit of having a monarchy that swears in the government makes it much harder for a coup

    I’m capable of taking a step back a bit and look at abortion politically but I can’t let it go. My baby was murdered by its mother 17 years ago legally with no punishment. My middle ground is giving up the hope of any kind of justice for my dead baby in exchange for enforcing justice for any future babies murdered by their mothers. That issue doesn’t disappear politically by putting a time limit on women being able to murder their babies.

      That's the horror of it. Very sad to hear that.
      In the very ancient legal system of India, the Laws of Manu, abortion is the very worst of all crimes.

      @@kreek22 With this said, do you believe that if a nation becomes a "liberal democracy" they will never become a monarchy or democracy? I define a liberal democracy in Polybius's terms as being an aristocracy in the beginning with an evolution to oligarchy. Do you believe this is a final state?

    • @kreek22
      @kreek22 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ilevakam316 When you have the types of surveillance/manipulation tools available to the ruling class today, historical parallels are tenuous. Propaganda can now be tailored to an increasingly individualized target, and it can be adaptive due to surveillance of response and AI interpretation tools. These factors are likely to entrench oligarchy. The real game is played within the oligarchy, competitive factionalism. But, this game is largely illegible to the public. Power becomes ever more cryptic to outsiders and the formal outlines of power ever more divorced from underlying reality.

    • @ilevakam316
      @ilevakam316 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@kreek22 I do not believe that the general populace participates a great deal in regime or structural changes. It occurs from a faction of the ruling class battling the current faction in power (ie circulation of the elites). For instance, when Caesar challenged the oligarchy in Rome, he was acting as a member of a ruling faction, not as some champion of the general populace, although he was greatly adored by them. I also do not think technology changes human nature and the cycles that their behavior creates. They may speed up or slow down, amplify or temper certain processes but it's not eliminating them.

    I will compromise on the implementation of a new tax or the construction of a new road. I refuse to compromise on the the clinical termination of a new human life preformed purely out of convince and made "necessary" due to a persons lack of self restraint and responsibility. We expect people to own their decisions, why should this change when it comes to the elective abortion (termination) of an otherwise healthy new life? It is fundamentally against the most basal moral beliefs of myself and many other Americans, it is barley a step removed from the legalization of murder or rape in my eyes.
