This is my son...100%. And if I show him some things he may like he tells me "its mid". Meanwhile I have both grandparents breathing down my neck "What does he want for Christmas?". Its a whole thing. lol
When I got married, forever ago, I had never heard of making a "Christmas list". In my family the kids wrote letters to Santa til about 10 years old, after that you got what you got. Hubby says the look on my face was priceless when he asked me for my list on our first Christmas together. I was SO confused.
@@holdernessfamilylaughs Why buy a bunch of random stuff you don't know if they will like or want? Then they pretend to like it when they open it and it ends up not getting used or in the donate box.
Our family wrote lists as well. I never bought into the Santa lie, even as a teeny kid. Lists are practical...the asker gets what they want/need, and the buyer isn't throwing their money away. Win win.
We make two set of lists: the first one each individual individual writes to give choices for gifts and the second one is a fake one on which anyone can write with joke ideas for gifts.
As a sales professional, +100 points to daughter to the subtle compliment to Mom that she too well fit into the same lululemons. Top shelf work, it'll be in the stocking.
A gift idea most teen boys will like: 12 days of Treatmas. I buy 12 kinds of Christmas junk food, wrap each thing, put them all in a box and wrap that. He can open one each from Christmas to Jan 6. Some years we have also given him international treats from various international grocery stores and he loves having no idea what he is eating. 😊
“No pants!” Was on my sons list, too! A threat I just thought of: “If you don’t give me some good suggestions to give to the in-laws and out-laws, I will tell them ALL to get you pants!”🤣
As a teen girl, this is SO relatable. I literally made my parents a presentation using the EXACT SAME Canva template with most of the same gifts! 😂 And the lululemon girl math is so true, my mom and i share lots of clothes… i showed her this vid and it cracked her up
😂 I don't have a teen daughter yet, but I do have teen boys and they aren't much better than that. It's like pulling teeth to get any ideas from them. My daughter is still young enough that she writes a nice long handwritten list spelled phonetically, so adorable 🥰.
My parents literally had me writing Santa a letter until I was like 17, and then my siblings close to my age had kids so I then had to keep writing a letter to Santa. Looking back on it, I kinda feel lucky I was able to do that as long as I did.
I miss actually seeing your kids, but I love that you respect their privacy and that even when you're just imitating them, you make sure they're okay with what you say about them. Also, great video! :D
Oh my goodness, this is absolutely my son! We live in Colorado where it is very cold and yet my teens will not wear coats, so I’m glad to know that is a universal teen problem!
For me it was because I did not want to have to carry a huge coat from class to class. My high school was two buildings and you had to reserve a locker in advance if you wanted to be assigned and even then it was likely to be in the most inconvenient corner of campus where you would NEVER go on purpose and still make it to class on time in the four minutes you had to get to your next class and pee. While carrying your backpack, lunch box, art supplies, and flute case. A coat on top of that????? I'll just hoodie stack
This hits so close to home! I have three boys and my 16 year old is still wearing shorts in the freezing cold! He’s declared war on pants, coats and common sense 😜
Daughter was always easy to shop for. Lil' bro as a teen would make a list 1 week before Christmas. At 21 he said this Thanksgiving, "I'm going to put a list on Amazon next week." Our kids don't ask for much, but, yes it was so much more fun when they were little.
Oh but the son thing is spot on 😂 I can’t tell you how many times my son has said “don’t buy me a coat” meanwhile while we live in NY … me: “but what are you gonna wear?” … him: “it’s not that cold, I have hoodies”😂😂😂 did we all birth the same sons!!!😂
This is scarily accurate. Trying to get my son to tell us what he wants is like pulling teeth. Meanwhile, my daughter has presented her Google Slides to my husband and I twice. And the explanation for the second Stanley-that convo just happened last night. This is the most relatable thing I have ever seen!😅
Our kids are the same ages as yours except my son is the oldest and my daughter is younger. She gave the exact same sales pitch with a Google sheet with links to each item to purchase. My son never asks for anything but is grateful for slunks (shorts), volleyballs, traveling for his sport, and food or gift cards to purchase food. We actually wrapped up a huge box of his favorite protein shakes and a box of cheese-it’s. 😂
OMG, I'm dying, lol. I don't have kids but this really reminds me of my brother and I when we were kids. While I am way to old to have had access to a computer for a powerpoint presentation, I did have color coded lists complete with illustrations, catalogue page and item numbers, and bookmarks in the catalogue. Also a list of options in case my first choices had sold out, lol. My little brother also used the catalogue but mainly circled the things he wanted and dog eared the pages, lol.
In addition to sounding exactly like a teen boy (including the suggestion to use up an unused gift card!!), she has the physicality down too--the exasperated noises, the slumping on the couch, hiding inside the hoodie... it's like watching a documentary of my teens
First, neither of my kids (girl 19 and boy 16) wear coats. Ever. We live in Colorado. Second, Kim, you got the teen boy attitude SPOT ON!!! 😂 Mine actually has a running Christmas list - 100% video games - but if I try to buy him clothes or any necessities really, he's exactly that way.
“Retro picture taking device!” 😂😂😂😂 Yes, I was cool back in the day! My 18th birthday (which is 2 days before Christmas) was made by that now retro picture taking device! Happy Holidays!
Spot on. My neice made a power point of her Christmas list for my sister. My 12 year old loves hoodies, doesn’t wear coats and wears shorts when it’s freezing outside.
This is extremely accurate. My 9yr old daughter had a detailed Christmas list written out and submitted by 1 November including items ranked by how much she wanted them and things tagged with maybe (as in just options) versus strong wants 😂 6yr old son has reacted with disgust and have had to draw a list out of him painfully. Now we have it written down he is treating it as a locked in online shopping order that will be delivered to him wrapped on Xmas morning and is talking about “his water blaster” and “his Lego fire command centre” etc as if he owns them 😂
Perfection! I'm laughing because just tonight I was shopping for a teen boy that literally only had "hoodie" on his list. I thought I'd go ahead a d get him a pair of pants and a coat too 🤣🤣 Should've watched the video *before * I went shopping!!
I don't have a daughter, but I was that ("joyfully!") daughter. This is 100% my sons! I donated so many coats with the tags still attached. And the shorts! It's snowing and here we are, bare legged. This so spot on!😂
Yep my 14 year old daughter sent me her wishlist with all of her “favorites” highlighted. She organized it by price and sent me all of her sizes. And when I buy off her list, it shows it’s reserved so others can’t buy it, preventing repeat gifts. She made herself a whole registry 🤣🤣 And I love it! And then my son wrote out his list and lost it..
I had alate age teenage stepson and my new teen daughter and they were so like your kids it’s hilarious watching this! Haha. She was the straight A student but quiet and shy. While he was the outgoing, persuasive one with straight C’s! Well okay there were some B’s in there on both sides! He ended up joining the US Coast Guards and she did collage. She is now training children how to care for and ride horses and does some Equine Assisted Therapy, her dream job! Before he sadly passed away in a car accident he had a blossoming career in the Coast Guard which he loved. We’re very proud of them both!
My daughter is so much like this. She’s a junior in college now, but she’s been doing power points since she was 10. Also, that list was hers…lol. She came home for Thanksgiving asking for my old camera, granted she’d spent part of her monthly stipend on a $30 one but decided the camera I actually used before phones came out was a better quality…geez. My boys harder as adults
Now I want to see your kids portraying you at Christmas! Kim would be running around organizing, and Penn would be saying, “Hey, that would make a great song lyric” about some random comment someone made, and then tap out a beat on the door of the refrigerator when he’s supposed to be finding room for a pie in there. Not a fan of girl math comments, but a big fan of yours in general! Thanks for the laughs. I have a friend whose daughter made a PowerPoint on why she should get a cockatoo and presented it to her parents!
Yes, funny because it is true! My son, starting at around age 10, whenever asked what he wanted for Christmas or his birthday ,responds "I don't know". Two years ago his grandma replied with "Ok, so a pink tutu then." and my son just shrugged. This year he is 15 and actually has a wish list that have more than 1 thing on it -- an electric bass, an amp, and all things bass related. At least we don't have to guess this year 🤣
@@paganbornspiritbear8249 totally agree! I had no idea he was serious about playing bass until he asked to visit our local guitar shop & asked the staff questions. The 2nd time we went in he plugged a couple different basses into the amp and played a couple riffs he's been listening to ... while the rhythm still needs work, he had them nailed down. Yeah so . . .when I was a girl -- it was so long ago that I read the HUGE Sears catalog and then I'd make a list of the item, page number and price and gave that list, with the catalog, to my mom. lol. Ah, those were the days! No internet! Just the Sears catalog!
I have one of those “retro picture takey things” in red 😂. My son is 100% representing in this video. Literally only wears hoodies in all different colors…if gray, black and navy are considered colors. 😂
Speaking of Stanley mugs, I was able to get in line (online) when the Lainey Wilson Watermelon Moonshine and the Country Gold quenchers went on sale. They sold out in 20 minutes but I was fortunate to get my wife both of them before the Ebayers got them to sell for triple the price! You know, because we don't have enough water bottles in the house!! LOL
My son is 22 (autism so he's still at home) and THIS was exactly what I got from him too- THE MOUTH SOUNDS!! My son did those mouth sounds!!!!!!!! He wants as many new video games as we can afford (I've been listening and make a list on amazon lol) and NO CLOTHES... but maybe some snow boots and new steel toed Wellies..... I prayed for twins (I wanted 6 or more kids) my son is a drama queen of six kids rolled into one... That was not the order I placed into heaven LOLOLOLOLOL someone screwed up their notes!
haha, you guys always bring a joy to my face....and when I show my mom this I think she will get a kick out of it too. Just good wholesome comedy. You guys are the best 😊
My son is still 12, and has his own Amazon account JUST to have a Christmas List every year. Mid-November I nag at him to log in, clean out all the stuff he got last year and throw new things in there, and then share it with the grandparents. In years past it was like 100 items long, all toys. This year it is 10 toys, a PS5, an Oculus 2 and a few shirts and books. He didn't even put on any video games.
My kids EXACTLY, 19y son and 17y daughter. Everything spot on ESPECIALLY the camera part!! Her list included a battery charger and data card for the camera she got from a flea market, yup a digital camera at a flea market 😳 My son just wants a gas card 😂
Ohhhh man. This is so good and 10000% accurate of me as a teen and 20s putting together a list for my family with links and such. Only to be completely ignored. It was so deflating to my confidence and self esteem. I went to therapy to talk about my frustration of Christmas with my family. In my 40s I pretty much ignore gift giving. It will always be disappointing. Someone better hire Lola! A++
We never had money and I would get so upset with my sister and brother when my parents asked for a list and they actually GAVE them a list!!! I was always "get me what you want to get me" thinking I was doing them a favor but they (in retrospect) probably hated that answer 😂
Yes!! Exactly what happens in our family. Polar opposite kids 😂 Our daughter color coded her college visits by school colors and mascot!! Plus when our son was young he thought you really didn’t like him if he received clothes for a gift 😊
I remember when I was young, clothes were The Most Boring Christmas presents. Now as an adult, if somebody wants to pay for my expensive work clothes or buy me That One Sweater I Really Like But $$, I'm delighted. How far we fall 😂
My teen son is more like the "girl" in this video... but it isn't some kind of fashion crap or whatever. He wants swords, armor, replica gun, and *maybe* medieval/Roman clothing. Occassionally he wants a video game or something.
Ok so hoodies and Uggs are everything in the winter. Having my teen nephew at the house a little bit I'm working on appreciating how low maintenance teen boys are. Maybe we should just lean into it cause it does make life simpler. However a few yrs ago I witnessed my sister get gift power points she asked for from her teen kids ; and I have to say one of my nephew's was pure entertainment lol. Also you'd think your bestie would be the easiest to shop for but finally exchanging amazing wish lists with each other has been fantastic !
Omg i have four kids. Oldest 16 year old girl and second 13 year old boy….just sent this to them! I cannot even explain how TRUE and SPOT ON this is! It’s actually scary! Lol.
I never did a presentation but I've always made an extensive list, often sorted into price points. I also include places i like gift cards to because I am picky when it comes to clothes and its always nice to have money to go out to eat.

So true and SO darn funny! Love it when you pull the strings to close the hoodie. Love watching you guys.
You forgot to show christmas morning where the boy is dismayed he barely got anything he likes that he came up with at 4pm the day before christmas
your daughter is going places! She seriously will have no issue getting jobs and killing presentations and sales pitches
I watched it on tiktok and again here, one of your best ever!! This is truely brilliant!!!
I have both and can say- very accurate😂
As a teen girl I used that exact template for my wish list this year
Mom of son and 2 daughters.... can't stop laughing!!! TRUE STORY!!!!! LOVE THIS
Even my adult children are like this. Oh my heck! Y'all are totally channeling my kids!
My 8 year old is already like this. He doesn't want a coat, just a hoodie, and shorts, and Crocs, in the winter! 🤷🏻♀️
I'm glad to know it's not just my teen son that's like this. Always with the hoodies. 😂
The son's torn up paper with teeny writing is accurate!
My kids EXACTLY, 19y son and 17y daughter. Everything spot on ESPECIALLY the camera part!! Her list included a battery charger and data card for the camera she got from a flea market, yup a digital camera at a flea market 😳 My son just wants a gas card 😂
I've got one of each and they are in their early 20s❤ I gave up several years ago they get money and one funny thing we wrap and put the money in.
"My son's list is a list of what Not to get him." Hahahha
Someone better hire Lola! A++
Hahahaha nailed it! I asked my brothers what they want for Christmas. 1 said uhhh ummm dono. The other said socks and underwear!
We never had money and I would get so upset with my sister and brother when my parents asked for a list and they actually GAVE them a list!!! I was always "get me what you want to get me" thinking I was doing them a favor but they (in retrospect) probably hated that answer 😂
I definitely made that sound when I was a teenager, lol.
“Retro picture-taking device” 😂
My teen son is more like the "girl" in this video... but it isn't some kind of fashion crap or whatever. He wants swords, armor, replica gun, and *maybe* medieval/Roman clothing. Occassionally he wants a video game or something.
Always fun. And dead-on accurate. Thank you!
17 yo boy, 15 yo girl here and this is SPOT ON! 🤣🤣🤣
SPOT.ON. 🤣🤣🤣
Omg i have four kids. Oldest 16 year old girl and second 13 year old boy….just sent this to them! I cannot even explain how TRUE and SPOT ON this is! It’s actually scary! Lol.
I'm the oldest of 3, but this is exactly my two younger siblings a decade ago when we were all still teenagers. I sent this video to both of them!
I only have teen boys...can def relate to PC's list...
Just no pants.
@@holdernessfamilylaughsmine just says no socks 😂
Omg my son. It’s like you channeled him. “ I just wear the same thing over and over” “ nothing with buttons” “ no coat because I just have hoodies”
I never did a presentation but I've always made an extensive list, often sorted into price points. I also include places i like gift cards to because I am picky when it comes to clothes and its always nice to have money to go out to eat.
Describes my kids perfectly
