OMG my host mother took me to that restaurant in San Jose for my first Costa Rican food culture treat, I loved it. It's so nostalgic to see it on TH-cam.
Very nice CR video . You were so lucky to see the top of the Arenal volcano because the top of it is almost always covered with clouds , Cheer Sue and Pura Vida 🍺🍻🍺
Thank you! Most of the way was paved, although people warned me before hand that the roads were bad & that I’d need an SUV. I didn’t really see what they were talking about… I mean the only thing I can think of is maybe the drive from la fortuna to jaco beach, lots of curves and definitely an upward drive for a couple hours.
I’m currently watching your video because I have been looking up best ways to get around Costa Rica, after I gave up on the rental car idea. Then I came across your video talking about your price of your rental car for 3 days, and now I am rethinking this. I have seen numerous videos over the last couple of days of the rental car ripoffs there. Crazy deposits, hidden fees, mandatory insurance, with or without credit cards. Saying the car is damaged upon returning, etc. And this has been all with the big rental companies that you would usually trust in the U.S. Was your car rental experience good ? And if you don’t mind, can you tell me what company you went with?
I used budget. I would only go with the major companies because I feel safer with the insurance. As far as the horror stories, I’ve heard the same. Online it’s advertised as one thing and in person you get hit with more fees than you signed up for online. The price I mentioned in the video was including full coverage insurance and any other taxes/fees. Get a car, it’s worth it, but definitely be cautious before you sign off on your rental agreement. Enjoy your travels!! :)
Also forgot to mention, take pictures/ videos of the car and the damages the day you rent it too! I didn’t have any issues at all and my process was smooth with budget! I know some credit cards offer rental insurance if you use that card to pay for your rental, so if you happen to have a card with those benefits it’s always a plus, since it’s like doubling up on the insurance.

Where did you rent car from
Budget car rentals
Pretty woman! ❤️😘
I think you got ripped off for parking at the hot springs. Never seen that before and I don't think the guy in the vest was legit.
Better off narrated by a local not by a foreigner
I’m sure you can find videos of Costa Rican natives/local experiences on this platform, however from the title of this video I am not a local. :)
