Different doesn´t mean "ugly", many people think it´s beautiful to let hair grow natural and not to force it into the brushed form (having dreads does not mean, not to wash them twice a week). You shouldn´t insult a culture or the taste of other people, which is different from yours. :)

this may well be a stupid question but it is genuine. if you wanted your dreads out and hair so much shorter wouldn't it have made sense to have your hair cut shorter first that way leaving you much less length to comb out? then finished with a leveling trim. or am I missing something obvious.
when you have dreads for a long time and you take them out, ALOT of hair will shed so it will be shorter than you would think it would be from how long her dreads originally were so she didn't cut them all to make sure they would be the length she wanted afterwards

Well I kinda meant if you have textured black hair you might be able to comb out a little but you're going to lose the majority so it's easier to shave it. That's why they're called dreadlocks and not dreadknots.

I saw that you were combing your real hair with a small toothed comb, don't use a small toothed comb because it can make your hair break off and even though you think that it will take out all of the kinks in your hair, it only breaks your hair off. I hope you use this tip for the best! And I love your hair!
