@@ttowell If you thought about anything for more than half a second, you might be able to find your own interpretation and come to your own conclusions. But since you are a product of this flawed education system, I guess I'll provide you with options. 1. OP could have been referring to how schools rank children. Some schools value high-ranking students, giving them priority over the lowest ranking students. The problem with this is that the low ranking students usually have something else going on at home, causing them to risk flunking out of school. Low ranking students require priority, but as shown in the video, the low ranking students felt pretty bummed (and one hopeless) about their ranks. This can be applicable to the real life education system in the sense that they leave students behind, forcing them to feel as though their grades are the only important thing they have going for them. 2. OP could have been referring to the ending, which insinuates their disdain for the "participation trophy" method that has had mixed reception. Personally, I feel like the participation trophy method is both good and bad. The good is that students who struggle to keep up with work don't have to pay for their struggle. The bad news is that most schools misuse the participation trophy method and award bad students after competitions in which good students worked really hard to win. The participation trophy method SHOULD be used as a way to HELP bad students, but they should NOT be rewarded the same as highly competitive students. Children need to have certain goals and aspirations in order to advance their education, otherwise they will end up suffering in any profession, as most professions are extremely competitive--especially STEM fields that are bloated, like the tech industry. If children cannot learn how to outperform their peers, then they will not be able to outperform their coworkers. Children do deserve participation trophies for CERTAIN events, such as anything that isn't mandatory to their education (field trips, pop quizzes, other minor stuff). Even high school students deserve a bit of a break every now and then, which is why rallies are so important (even if students are majorly apathetic about them... let's be real, we all liked getting to skip class for a rally!). TLDR; just use your brain for christ's sake

2:07 That is a very important lesson, because you are the most talented, interesting and extraordinary person, you are the most important person in your life, but the fact that those who love you also consider them important makes you someone extraordinary and important. Everyone has talent and (while this is not harmful) makes you an extraordinary talented.
nobody's the most talented, interesting, or extraordinary. nobody's necessarily special, either, unique maybe. the real gift that we all have is being able to constantly improve ourselves, little by little. no matter what people say about us, and no matter how little we think we improve, we still do.
