ive just discovered your channel and videos like this have given me a novice mechanic(thats being generous) alot of great confidence and advice for working on my 2015 pro 4x. my truck is currently lifted 6" with the rough country lift kit (the one with the block spacer, not the full coil) and i can barely fit 35s on there. so now i need to find the right coil combo i want to go with for better clearance and ride.
Don’t know if you found what you were looking for. But Radflo 2.5 coilovers with adjustable ride height are what I went with on my 2013 pro4x and they are a game changer. CJD racing sales them.
Great Video as always bro! I no longer work on my friends xtera cause I bought a new house in Corpus Christi TX, but love watching your content regardless! Best of luck to you and future videos as well as your success! Keep up the great work!
Congrats on the new place! I really appreciate you supporting the channel. I have not made a video on it yet but I actually quit my day job to work on my channel full time. That's why my videos have been about weekly as of late. Talk soon! 👍🏻
If you tighten those top hats to only ~22 lbs, then please, please check them regularly. I've found the stock torque numbers don't hold up well for aftermarket accessories. I need ~40+ ft lbs for the tops hats on my simple Rancho setup.
Is removing and reinstalling the wheel well liner difficult? I'm a first time DIY'er and I'm comfortable with what this video helpfully presents, but I have no idea how to remove the wheel well liner.
Thanks for the video!!! Helps a bunch! Try some "PB Blaster" penetrating oil breaks away rust and other stuff I've unseized motors with it even s*** works great on anything that's locked up and needs future protection better than WD-40 I think
Another question. In your video for UCAs, you raised the hub assembly up to take the twisting force off the joint bushings. When doing this suspension lift, shouldn't it be advisable to re-do that step of lifting up by the hub, loosening the UCA nut and then retighten after the stress is removed?
You can put the tire back on and lower the vehicle, resting its full weight on the suspension and reach to torque the top nuts. Its a little awkward for sure but very doable.
This was a custom prototype spring from All Dogs OffRoad. They loaded it all for me and shipped it as an assembled unit. If you order from them they usually have the assembly service as an option on their website. Highly recommended as the at home spring tensioners won't work on these HD springs.
Did you have to get the front end alignment done afterwards, I did a 2012 Nissan Pathfinder with similar swap out and had to do an alignment, it did level up the front end and after the alignment it drove a lot better
Have a 2006 Nissan Titan XE 4X2 (RWD) with a 2” leveling kit in the front but the stock shocks (front and back) are all but wasted. Lots of bouncing and knocking. Can you point me in the right direction?
I can really only speak for the Beilstein 5100’s because other than stock those are the ones I have went with. They are on both my Titan and my Xterra. My Titan has a little over a 2 inch lift on the front as well with HD springs. I like them but I can tell you they ride is stiff. Like stiff stiff. SO be prepared for that. Other than that they have performed great!
I’m thinking of getting this setup. Will these fit a 2004 rear wheel drive? I’m sitting stock right now. Is there any other parts I need to change to compensate the lift it provides?
Considering the ADO front assembly for my R51, but I've read that bilsteins may be too stiff. I will openly admit that I want to lift my rig but only as a mall crawler 😁. So I'm curious, how's the bilsteins with the ADO coils ride? Much stiffer? Annoyingly stiffer? TIA
They are a much much stiffer than stock especially if yours are old and tired. I will say I feel like it make the X drive better. It felt more positive. Steering felt more precise, turning rolled a lot less, and high speeds felt better. It was a good trade off for me.
I think if you would have sprayed some penetrating oil on those rusty nuts/bolts ahead of time they would have come off easier. I can't believe you got 215K miles out of the stock suspension. I bought my truck used with 99K miles and all of the shocks were rusted and leaking, making all kinds of noises and clunks. I replaced them with Bilsteins as well.
My 2008 nissan Titan has 230K on its stock suspension. I have one bad ball joint on lower passenger control arm. I decided to replace the full system. But really could have gone quite a bit further if i just changed the ball joint. I just saw cracked boots all over so I'm doing it all just to do it.
thanks man! I think right around 2, maybe a little more. I live how it leveled the truck. @@Rythecarguy I may be misguided, but I have an 05 LE Crew Cab 4WD, original owner, 181K, Gulf Coast miles, and when I saw the inner plastic front liners gone, and rust streaks on the actual body, I thought you had a corrosion issue that I have never seen. In fact, I can’t find that kind of corrosion on any front suspension members. I have replaced the front wheel bearing assemblies, opened and lubed the upper and lower control arms (outer ends), as well as inner tie rods. I don’t have rust anywhere. Maybe it’s a salted road issue in a Northern State, and not the inner guards..which you don’t have.? I do appreciate you detail in the strut assembly video. You are a smart guy.👍🙂
Oh thanks Martin. I do have and use the fender liners. I just remove them for suspension videos so you guys can see better. This truck is a southern turn but it spent time in the north on vacations. My guess is road salt getting thrown up there
Ohh the lift! I thought you were referring to the torque specs. Yes, the front springs lifted 2.25 like Daywalker said. I plan to do a video on it later this month.

Did the exhaust manifolds on my truck used the extractors a lot. The top hat bolts I just cut off with a grinder
So annoying
Thank you for the video. Alignment required afterwards?
Eh no
Did this to my 2012 nissan armada RANCHO leveling kit Struts and rear shocks. Love it

thank for you video help me a lot God bless you my friend

Thinking about doing this to my Titan
You should it's a great setup
Appreciate the video and I am considering purchasing. Will these work on a rwd Titan?

Oh for sure. I just find it easier to lift the assembly for pressure.
the new springs make strong suspension? no soft drive?
I’m doing my whole front end ball joints tire rods cv everything what do you recommend
I have good luck with Moog.

Do you know if there's a mismo suspension for the 2011 xterra pro 4X?
Radflo they make them
Do you know about the Titan/Armada horrible vibration at idle up to about 1700 RPM? I know it's not a misfire.
Where did you buy your shock with the spring? I can only find the shock alone. Not loaded.

Yea. I think an alignment after any significant suspension change is probably a good idea.

Tighter wound portion of the spring goes at the top? Or bottom?
Tighter goes up usually

This should be it. The front suspension should be the exact same as mine,
Is that coil spring compatible with 2015 Nissan Armada 4WD? Where can I buy it? Thanks!
That coil is still being produced and it not yet available. When it is done it will be sold by all dogs off road co-op.
Are the springs bigger on a 2016 XD diesel?
Oh yea, I would imagine that the whole suspension is different. At least it should be
Will those struts work on 2012 armada 4x2??
Yes the mounting points should all be the same.
How did the springs and Shocks do longterm ?
They are still great! No issues so far.
What year is your truck. Is it the same process on a 2014 Nissan Armada?
2006. It would be nearly the same up front. Very different in the rear.
were you really able to get a two inch lift just from the All Dogs Offroad springs?
Yes sir! larger stiffer springs do the trick.

Yes you can order them fully assembled. Don't know the cost but I like the ride. Firm but positive

Yes

If the fender liner had not been removed, the rust problems (seen everywhere) would not exist, and the new strut assembly would last longer.
