The manual says this, "Engaging the PTO knob with the throttle level set lower than fast position can cause excessive belt wear. ALWAYS use fast position when engaging the PTO." That's counter-intuitive, but that's what it says.
Keep it lose helped me a ton I’ve been looking for a good video for months now and this just helped me a ton every numb I hit I bout did a wheelie so thanks for the video I thought there was something wrong with my mower 🤣

Different schools of thought on it. I’ve been doing it my way for over 500 hours with no ill effects
