    Finally someone on youtube that understands the dynamics of recording sound and getting it right. Kudos to you for the lesson and the way it's presented. Yes, someone noticed

    I expect this mower will last several seasons with decent care. th-cam.com/users/postUgkx1VWTrayKBdCKAjzAcZ_Eg4dhHTae3LkN also recommend Also, I ran across the problem with it not starting the 2nd time I used it. There is a safety switch which is pushed in by the chute or mulching piece being attached to the deck. I took the cover off and it wouldn't start. Put it back on, no problem. It takes only a minute with 2 easily accessible wingnuts and no tools. This mower starts up first crank each time and it is a joy to use. It also mows in reverse by putting the key to the reverse area after starting and pushing in the triangular button. It will stay in reverse mode until you turn it off. All in all, for my homeowner needs, I really like this mower-and at 70 bucks a cut here in Miami, it's already more than 1/3 paid for itself in a month.

    instead of stopping and pivoting on the left or right wheel, slightly reverse it, as you're moving the opposite wheel forward.

    Good stuff. I learned this on my own( 30"stander) especially on damp lawns in the mornings. You might not care about your own lawn but try doing a picky customer lawn after they just fired the previous crew. Had to show my boss in his "manly" 60" with tweels ( airless tires) as he tore up big patches on turns. They didn't want him back AT ALL. Customer went and bought a 30" stander to have me cut their lawn and paid well. Make money and LISTEN to the customer.

      Same here... This TH-camr gave me an idea of except turning around straight away, just make an oval until you get to the end and cut the area where you didn't cut at to prevent damaging the grass and your mower

    I cant tell you how many TH-cam videos I have been watching on this subject. You did a nice clear explanation. Now to perfect it. I just started as the guy cutting lawns at a cemetery. Let me tell you that is truly a challenge in a very crowded cemetery. Didnt help that I started the week after Memorial Day and have to contend with a ton of American Flags stuck in the ground. If I can just get this one skill perfected Ill be in good shape. In some cases here there just is no room to do a K turn but now that I know that it is the rear wheel doing the damage hopefully I can at least minimize the divots. Thanks!

    I just used my brand new Cub Cadet ZT1 machine this week. I have been using a ransomes/bobcat commercial grade walk behind lawnmower for 30 years. It finally died. This ZT1 is insanely fast, smooth and agile. The gearing in these things is a game changer. I'm sure I'm way late to the party, but I'm a believer.

    I have watched countless videos for the "three point turn" And most of them are good including this one. Here is my problem, everyone explains how to three point turn, but no one explains how to prevent the pivot itself. As in when I come to my stop at the end of a row what do I do with my bars (the action) to keep both wheels spinning. Now I know it may be common sense to some who have lots of experience on a zero turn but I am just starting out on one, and do NOT want to put divot holes in my grass. I have been practicing the back up portion, but not quite understanding the correct handle bar movements to keep both wheels moving, so i dont pivot while making my turn. Thanks to anyone who sees this and helps.

      The reason why no one explains this is because it extremely hard to put into words. It takes time to develop that gliding smooth motion that you need to operate smoothly. It will come in time and you’ll forget you were even new to the controls

    Half the time my worst enemy is the front tires. When they turn back into position its them that tear the lawn up a little.

    Three point turn defeats the purpose of a zero turn you might as well just have a lawn tractor at that point. I just go slow when I turn and don't spin around and go back. It doesn't tear up the lawn

    Why don't people just reverse on one side for tight turns and no pivoting on one wheel since they're both moving.

    I have the mindset that a zero turn mower should turn on the spot .

    • @TheDurbinCompound
      @TheDurbinCompound  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I completely agree! But you have to be prepared for the physics of it to tear up your yard!

    • @Carl_McMelvin
      @Carl_McMelvin 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It should. It’s no different than driving a bobcat. This video is wrong. When you turn on the spot, one wheel should be moving forward while the other goes in reverse.

  • @jordankitchens9497
    @jordankitchens9497 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    You’re doing all that but your front guide wheels will tear the grass up too

  • @superlandini
    @superlandini 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    “Do not pivot on your turning wheel”
    Constantly pivot on turning wheel showing how do it the right way.
    It’s a zero turn, why don’t reverse one wheel when moving forward the other, instead of doing 3 maneuver? It’s faster and doesn’t ruins the lawn…

  • @Carl_McMelvin
    @Carl_McMelvin 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    It’s not a three-point turn mower. It’s a zero turn. LOL You’re supposed to turn on a dime. But the stationary inside wheel should be moved backwards.
